Android tablet as a head unit - General Topics

This thread can be moved to right location!
I’ve read the topics and none of them seem to answer my question. So. Is there a ROM that would change my tablet (Lenovo 10 inch) to a android auto. So that I could connect my phone to the tablet with BT and listen to music. The tablet would then ve wired to my pioneer head unit and so on.
I use mu tablet now as a navigator so it would be nice to add some capabilities to it.

[Q] Pioneer Car stereo android app?

Ok, I don't exactly know where to post this, so General seemed the most likely spot.
I just installed a Pioneer DEH 9400bh receiver in my car. It installed fine and bluetooth streaming and hands-free work just fine and all that.
My question is, is there an app that allows a user to navigate the units usb connection via phone? Navigating the usb drive (if you put one on) is sort of cumbersome on the head unit. It would be nice if you could do that from the phone.
Furthermore, is there an app or fix to get the unit to display song info that is streaming from the phone? I don't mean Pandora, I mean songs on the phone itself. Maybe it already does this, but I couldn't get mine to display the info.
Any help would be appreciated.

[Q] pairing the tablet to the phone in the car

Hi, I would like to use my P3110 as the infotainment central of my car.
I have a bluetooth system which can receive everything.
So, I thought that I can connect the tablet to internet using my phone (nexus 5) as hotspot.
With this basic configuration, I can use the tablet as a navigator, while spotify plays my music.
The only problems are phone calls. Infact, if the tablet is paired to the car bluetooth system I have to pick the phone to answer.
Is there a way to bypass calls to the tablet?
Thanks a lot

Use tablet as car radio and anwser call

Hi,
i bought a tablet, and i have an old autoradio with USB and AUX and i thought to connect my Tablet with Aux, my smartphone with tablet trought bluetooth and answer a call by the tablet and speak trough it.
I try to download the App Tablet Talk but when the calling is arriving i can answer but i cannot listen auto in tablet (so neighter in the car speaker) but only in the smartphone.
There is someone that is very good in smartphone that can create an app to connect smartphone and tablet by bluetooth, answer calling or message from tablet and speak directly in the tablet and not in the smartphone?
(my idea is use tablet like one of the lastest autoradio with bluetooth )
Please someone help me and a lot of people in Italy and in the world that follow this forum and would want the same thing that i think ^_^
Thaks to all at the beginning ^_^

Headrest zone with an Android head unit (Joying EU-JY-UO135N4GS in particular)?

Hi,
I may buy a Joying head unit EU-JY-UO135N4GS but I still have something unclear in my mind. Do Android head units support dual zone where you can see navigation on the head unit while listen to music or radio from the Headrest Monitor, you can see navigation while back-seat passengers can watch a film on the headrest monitor (my old 2014 Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1" in my case).
I mean how can you push a film with its sounds to the back zone of the car? Even if I had a real headrest screen with RCA input (which is not my first intent given I'd like to recycle my tablet), how does it work?
And trying to avoir RCA wiring, can I create a WIFI hotspot from the head unit then connect my tablet to it to retreive films and musics?
I may not be clear here but could not find related post on XDA then come to you,
Thx.
Anyone sotring films on the headunit and having children watching films in the back of the car? Which set-up?
Thx

Help using a tablet together with a phone in a car

Hello!
I hope getting some help & ideas for a new idea I'm trying to use in my car.
I have an old Volvo, with next to no modern entertainment options, meaning a factory built-in radio (neither DIN nor Double-DIN), with no bluetooth or anything fancy. A good radio with a really good sound and equalizer (DolbySorround), but that's it. And a seperate navigation system with no online connectivity or recent updates what so ever (last update is from 2014 for a nice 300.-€).
My idea would be:
Tablet (in my case a Fire HD8, unlocked, rooted and with LineageOS 14)
Phone (Xiaomi Mi Mix2, as well with LineageOS, but LOS16)
Bluetooth receiver from Aukey (that I can wire in with the equalizer)
So far, so good. But here comes the problem:
I want to do some things on the tablet, like navigation, music streaming and calls. Is it possible, to connect phone and tablet in a way, I could start the music (Amazon, Google and my own Nextcloud) from the tablet, where in reality the phone makes the connection and "sends" the sound to the tablet (and from there the tablet to the BT audio receiver) or directly to the BT audio receiver, as long as I can control that from the tablet. Or the navigation (tablet) can use the internet connection from the phone. And last thing, I want to make or receive calls on the phone, but I would like to control that from the tablet as well.
I think you get the idea, what I'm trying to do here.
I'm really not sure how to start, the hardware is already here, but I'm willing to buy other stuff, as long as it works afterwards.
Any ideas or input is very welcome, I'm a little stuck here. Thanks a lot in advance!
