Every time I connect my SSD/ Flash Drive to my OnePlus 8T, I see anywhere between 12 to 15 folders added to the connected device. These are mostly empty and get created in every partition on the connected device. I will list them here:
1. Alarms
2. Android
3. Audiobooks
4. DCIM
5. Documents
6. Download
7. Movies
8. Music
9. Notifications
10. Pictures
11. Podcasts
12. Ringtones
13. System Volume Information
14. LOST.DIR

}
Earlier, it would only be one or two folders from Android, LOST.DIR & System Volume Information. But now it is almost 15!
This is extremely annoying, and especially since they get created in every single partition.
1. Is there a way to block empty folder creation?
2. Is there a way to make the connected device READ ONLY? Please don't recommend buying one with a physical switch.
Thanks.
Bumping this post to see if there is a solution.

Hello Everyone,
I am Omkar Bapat and want to present my idea for your feedback.
Rendezvous is an Android app concept that grew out of a personal need. As I go about spending my day at work I often recollect different tasks that I would like to do when I connect my Android phone to my PC via USB cable. However I often forget these tasks when I connect to the PC.
These tasks are things like backing up the data files of different Android apps that I use, the songs and videos I want to download on my phone, cleanup of my memory card, saving the photos etc etc.
So I thought of creating a simple app that will popup everytime I am connected via USB cable and show me the pending tasks. I have created 2 prototype screens. I am seeking the feedback of the Android community before I proceed further. Looking forward for your comments!
1) The main popup screen that fires up when USB is connected

Evening,
Just recently installed Mango RTM on my Omnia 7 and unsure how to set custom ringtones.
If I go into system, ringtones + sounds there only choices are the generic ringtones that came preloaded with the phone...
Anyone figured out how to set a MP3 as a ringtone.
Thanks,
On Mango you can do ringtones from *.mp3 and *.wma file by Zune, but you must first:
- take your sounds file for up to 39 seconds,
- this sound file may not occupy more than 1 mb,
- his format is only *.mp3 or *.wma,
- not copy-protected,
and now:
1. copy file to phone by Zune,
2. in collection in the Zune find this file and click him right mouse and click "Edit" - you see context menu same as in the screenshot but in your language,

"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
3. in "Species" (on the screenshot it's "Gatunek") write from big letter "Ringtone" and click "Ok",
4. now only synchronize your phone with your computer and this file should be the first from the top in "Ringtones + sounds".
Have you ever wanted to select music from your android phone or tablet and play it on your computer Ofcourse you have. This app is in a pretty basic stage at this point, but none the less you can indeed select music on your android phone, and it will play on your computer. For this to work you need two applications. One is a listener for your computer.For now it is only for windows, and if does not run it is most likely because you need to install the .net framework. Just download the windows music connect bellow,extract, and run music_connect-beta1. You will also need the android app music connect. Just download it from the link bellow and install on your phone. Make sure you are using the same network on your computer and android device. Your computers fire wall may also request permission. Make sure to allow it or this application will not work. Other than that it is pretty self explanatory. I welcome any bug reports or feature requests:good: I hope you guys enjoy. If you do please press the thanks button

REQUIREMENTS.
Must be rooted.
Set SeLinux to Permissive.
System Sampler is a tool to allow you to sample data deep in the system. It's great for developers and Android enthusiasts who have an interest what's happening in real time.
FEATURES.
- Adjust sampling time from 1-10 seconds.
- Set file permissions if needed to read data.
- Status bar readout viewable in any screen.
HOW TO USE.
1. Enter the file path in the box located at the top of the screen.
2. Turn on the sampling button.
3. If you are unable to read the file, use the "chmod" button to set file permissions to 777 and try again.
TIPS.
It's much easier to copy and paste the file path using the "getFilePath" application. Get it here..https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.fro9.android.app.getfilepath
POSSIBLE ISSUES.
This is a beta release!
System Sampler was built on Tasker and has only been tested on my LG G3. That being said, their may be issues with different devices with screen resolutions and the status bar readout.

Hi,
I've got a really strange issue:
somehow my phone changed the date of my taken pictures and whatsapp pictures saved on the SDcard. I dont know why or how that happened.
See the picture below/attached.

}
What is the best way to correct the dates? It would take a lot of time to change every single picture since there are around 150 pictures to be changed individually.
Is this maybe a mistake of the media cache??
I found out that you have to modify the pictures on your phone with an app.
I tried to copy the files to my computer, correct them and copy back to te phone. But once you copy the files to your phone the last modified date changes to todays date.

Click to expand...
Click to collapse
yes, this is beacuse of the MTP protocol (Media transfer). This is really annoying! It is impossible to copy files from computer to the phone and keep the date as far as I know.
