Shortcuts are blacks and notification panel is white. With dark theme, panel become black and shortcuts still same color.
It's not beautiful and not logical so is it a bug ?
What about your phone ?

Lol i am not using pixel 4a but using pixel 5 GSI on my Nokia 6.1. that GSI ported from Pixel 5 .i had a lot pixel GSI.i had no issue like this .try resetting your device maybe it will fix it or contact Google from Pixel 4a .if not search YouTube or Google for that issue

Same here on Pixel 4a for a week.
The first Android 12 update worked great, i got the full notification bar.
But now, i'm stuck with 4 first buttons as shown by fatomic. I can't slide/pull one time more to open the full notification menu. So i can't access anymore to others buttons, notification menu edition, settings shortcut or light control.

The pixel 3 got a12, and it has the same thing.
From research I've seen, google did this because it uses less resources than an opaque type background.
I don't really like it but find it's not that hard to live with, don't really use that pulldown shade that much. And the rest of the system does seem quite a bit more responsive. Scrolling is very fast.

My name is in the dock, the blue dot is battery charge, touching a dot opens app of choice, swiping a dot opens folder containing apps of choice. Live wall paper background. I keep the lettering on the dark side to avoid screen burn in or ghosting and provide a bit of privacy, making it difficult for a stranger close to me from reading my appointments etc.

Notifcation Panel chaned to a light theme after phone update

Recently updated my p20 to the 9.0.0 emui, and the phone changed to a light theme. Can't seem to change it back through notifications. Is there a way for me to change it (preferably without downloading a mod)? Thanks in advance!

You can achieve this with using a custom theme.
I'll post more about this later.

I'm very disappointed with the EMUI 9 update on the P20, I'm of course happy to receive the system speed enhancements, I just feel the user interface and graphical design very weak. ( IMHO )
" EMUI 9.0 features a simplified design to reflect natural elements and nature’s sound. Our inspiration comes from blending natural colour transitions and light and shadow with mountains, ocean water, glaciers and stones to form a translucent visual presentation."
I would be interested to know how to change these functions, if anyone can advise.
1- The Light theme is terrible and should have been made an option in settings rather than removing any chance of black mode. How to change the pull down notifications back to a black background and white icons.
2- The changing the Contacts images to mountains (if you haven't set one) when it used to be Initials seems unhelpful.
3- When using the Dialler contacts now have an allocated murky brown colour below the image and behind the icons. (which isn't the most flattering when people call you. )

Notch Pie is an app which creates an overlay on the status bar around the teardrop notch in order to show the battery status.
How to use :
1. Install the apk and open the app to grant all the required permissions.
2. Press the floating action button on the bottom in order to enable the accessibility service for the app.
3. Move the sliders around until the overlay wraps around the notch or is to your liking.
4. You can also change the colors by tapping on a specific color level and setting it to whatever you want.

@Fly_7113 (dank memelorde and community helper, also made the app's icon)
@AdamGulyasJ (cool human, really really helped me with testing, and this app would probably have never been fixed without him>her)
Nice app...but not working on my Oneplus 6T as expected. I think it will work well with 'U' shaped Notch.
No more update?

Not work for me
I installed it and it worked, after a while it doesn't appear. I followed the instructions to enable accessibility but I got another message and I couldn't make it work. Uninstall it and I installed it again and it doesn't work. Something in MIUI changed that I can't use this app. The creator admits that there are strange behaviors in MIUI, a pity because I found it very useful. Redmi Note 7 MIUI 10
I can't fix Accessibility when I touch a message "This service will do this actions ..." Cancel or Accept but hit Accept and another mesagge That says "If one app is blocking ...." and I can't select Accessibility

Android 11 wallpaper bug/'feature'

I was holding off on updating, after getting the Android 11 notification a few days ago in the UK, as I couldn't see much user feedback on One Hyper upgraded to Android 11. But I updated it today and while it seems to be working OK (with seemingly no loss in general performance), I did immediately notice a bug/feature on wallpapers.
It doesn't matter which app you use to apply a wallpaper, the system seems to take over and crop the image. When you pull down the notifications bar it zooms back out to the original 1:1 wallpaper.

Forgive the quality of the above gif, I didn't want to overload the thread with a massive image. But you get the idea.
I did a Google search and it seems to be a common issue, at least on some Android 11 devices, I saw some archived reddit threads from 2020. It's a shame but thankfully there is a workaround (if a little clunky). Apparently live wallpapers escape this weird bug/feature, so with an app like KLWP you can turn a wallpaper (like some of the 1080x2340 formatted wallpapers I made) into a live wallpaper. Again it works but for such a simple thing, it's a shame you have to jump through hoops that weren't there in Android 10.
Eh, why do they need to do these things. I'm already really annoyed that the lockscreen overlays a color tone over the image, dampening all cool vibrant colors and contrast. When i now choose a lockscreen wallpaper i have to overdrive the colors and contrast before applying it to counter the tone.
is this a bug? I thought it was some new effect of the system, if you repair it well, when you are using the Motorola launcher and make the gesture to open the app drawer, the same thing happens.
Whether it's simply an annoying new feature or a bug, either way it would be nice if it was an option.
Again I'm able to use the KLWP app to get around it, but its a lot of extra hoops for such a simple feature (and not a particularly intuitive app to use).

Android 12 Dark Theme Notification Body Text Issue?

On Miui 13, realized the body text of my notifications now (while in dark mode) are greyish dark, instead of the usual white.
I tried looking for solutions for changing the text to white but to no avail. I then also came across the below reference.
Thus, i was wondering if anyone else from different OS also experiencing this issue.
it's a bit hard to read with the grey color now.

Wish someone could rectify this immediately. It's very annoying not being able to see my notifications swiftly anymore.
Still having the same issue...
Just moved from crDroid to Miui 13.0.3 Global on my Poco F2 Pro and this grey text is the only issue I've found so far. Any 3rd party apps or something that can fix the text to be white?

Turn on high contrast text in accessibility under the vision tab. It is the only temporary solution I found.
