Hi,
I am a complete newbie. I do own a Asus Infinity Tabtop, which I haven't used in years as the Android version does not support most of the apps. A friend wants it. Is there a way for me to upgrade the Android version to something more usable for him. Please help with a "dummies guide" if possible!
What you would have to do
Find a Custom Recovery what's suitable to device
If found, find a Custom ROM what's suitable to device
If both found
Flash the Custom Recovery
Flash by means of Custom Recovery the Custom ROM
I am having problems using the official Asus unlocking tool. It tells me about a network error. Is there another way to unlock the bootloader?

hi, can any one help give me instructions on how to update to andriod 4.2 on my asus tf300 using stock recovery? i am currently unlocked, but i am not rooted or have a custom recovery. any help would be appreciated
there is no chance to update for you. Unlocked means no updates.
So you have to wait till Asus releases the Files on there site to dl. Then you will need fastboot or a Custom Recovery.
Hi all,
My Asus TF300T is unlocked (because a "This device is unlocked" message appears when i turn on the device), it has root access, but no custom recoveries installed. My device is on ICS 4.0.3. Build number ( IML74.US_epad-9.4.3.30-20120604), Kernel version (2.6.39.4-00003-gafee6c5).
Can someone give me step by step instructions on how to upgrade my device to JB 4.2.1 with ASUS stock bootbloader10.6.2x and TWRP patched 2.4.4.0 ?
Thanks

Here is a link to the best tutorial I have ever found for upgrading the TF300T. Though written for upgrading to JB 4.2.1, it works for any version, you just have to substitute the appropriate files.

Read through it VERY CAREFULLY and don't proceed until you are completely familiar with the steps you need to follow for your particular situation.
If you have questions, ASK. Don't go forward not knowing for sure what to do and wind up bricking your tablet.
Let me know if I can help in any way.
Hi,
Maybe this is a n00b question but i won't brick my device so i ask the professionals here at xda for advice
I have a Asus TF300T with stock Asus ROM, build JOP40D.WW_epad-10.6.1.27.5-20130902.
My tablet is very slow and i want to tray a custom ROM. I already unlocked the device with the Asus software and when the tablet is starting i see the text "Device is unlocked".
Now i need to install a recovery rom. I have adb and fastboot installed and my device is recognized.
My first question is: wich recovery must be installed?
I checked TWRP and there are different versions.
I see "JB", "ICS" and "4.2" versions till TWRP v 2.8.0.1. Latest version is only available as 1 version and doen's have "JB", "ICS" or "4.2" editions.
My second question is: do i need to rename the file to .blob and flash it with adb? Or can i use the .img extension?
Please help me choosing the right version
Thank you
Hi,
Hardware: Original ASUS Transformer tf101
OS: Latest official ROM / update (Android 4.0.3)
Trying to make this thing usable again, which it really isn't in its current state.
It's been incredibly frustrating and confusing even getting this far (mostly because being an absolut noob (somewhat experienced Linux Admin, but no idea about Android, ROMs and Rooting) and also because the tf101 is obviously antiquated), but somehow I managed to both root the device (or at least the Root Checker App tells me so) and install a custom recovery (CWM) - but now I'm stuck because CWM won't let me mount anything containing the ROM I want to install (KatKiss 6.0, seems to be the newest available; not great, but better than 4).
So I tried installing TWRP instead of CWM - but I really don't know how. There are several ROM utilities that should be able to do this, but the only one that has been working so far was ROM Manager, which I used to install the currently active CWM. The TWRP App keeps telling me that it can't find the recovery partition, which I'm guessing is happening because it's looking for the original recovery and not CWM?
... help
Hello everyone, I have this tablet that is asus zenpad 10 and I want to update it to the newest android because the one that has it is slow and I cannot use some apps, any idea how I can do it, thanks
1. You have to find a Custom ROM that is at 100% suitable to the tablet
2. If found then you have to find a Custom Recovery what is at 100% suitable to the tablet.
If both got, then
1. Flash the Custom Recovery
2. Flash the Custom ROM by means of the Custom Recovery already flashed
I can't find anything
