Hi guyz,
Googled it with no real solution, nobody in the Touch Pro forum seem to have it either.
Is there any way to disable waking my ppc or at least lock the touch panel on notifications like low battery, appointments etc. Message notification is easy to disable, Answerkeys Disabler works like charm when it comes to incoming calls but I want to disable waking up the device on any notification and have only audible alerts.
Often when in pocket or case my TP wakes on low battery or appointment reminder and starts random dialing, texting, etc. which is getting annoing.
Thanks in advance,
dEM
there may be a registry key you can delete so that you don't get notifications at all.... i'm not real sure about which ones though. i'll look around.
EDIT: SHNotificationRemove at msndn :

Good question, hope someone has an answer
how about usin s2u2? doesnt solve it exactly but maybe a workaround?
There are some locking solutions over there. I'm looking for one that doesn't lock my device all the time but only on these notifications. The best will be if it doesn't even wakes up.
Just great! More than a month I've been trying to find a solution to this problem with no success!
Hi,i hope this keeps the thread alive,i would also like to know if its possible and how
Me Too!
I have this exact same problem. When a reminder alerts me on the phone it wakes up the unit and turns the display on. If this stays in my holder it just keeps the phone on because it senses all the pushing... We have a PIN enable so it won't do anything major. But there are times I've pulled out my phone to find it awake (on) and there are * in the password field - so I know it is sensing touches when in the holder. This definitely drains the battery.
HELP PLEASE! Any Fix found?
I'm having this problem as well - anybody out there got any ideas...?
I hate how there seems to be no solution to this! It didn't happen to me in WM6.1, so it must be buried within 6.5 in some dark, fetid, unreachable place :-(
I keep accidentally dialing people with my bum when one of my reminders goes off. Grr!
EDIT: I did finally cave and install a slide to unlock feature (S2U2) which I got from http://a2-s2.com. I was surprised with the level of customization you can do with this program, and I do love how I can have the slider's wallpaper change randomly, so I am greeted with a different image each time I unlock the phone. I know it's not what any of us were looking for, but it's a workable solution for now.
I've since gotten round this by using PocketShield - works well for me. Doesn't work well with the PIN lock though....
I'm using Smartlock for locking the screen; incoming call and stand return from suspend.
It has an option "suspend after lock".

disable wake on notification
finally figured it out, a few years later.
still can't find a factory setting for it, but i downloaded NILS (notification lock screen) and it gives you the option to disable wake on notification. hope it helps
Hi, I searched the forum but had no luck:
Completely new Nexus 5, White 16GB, and I have this issue:
When i receive and miss a call, as soon as the ringer stops the phone automatically shows the unlocked homescreen and it just stays there, instead of locking itself normally. This is really weird, and happens even if the phone is in my pocket (so it's not sensor-related like whatsapp pop-ups for example). Also not really safe i'd say. If I select another lockscreen method, it behaves normally (showing, for example, unlock pattern for a certain amount of time before turning the monitor off again.)
Anyone experiencing the same issue?
http://www.reddit.com/r/Nexus5/comments/1q04f7/nexus_5_unlocks_itself_after_a_missed_call/
This is the only other reporting I found on the web. Can anyone test this? It's really fast and easy, and I think this could be a pretty serious issue.
My phone (pin locked) doesn't do that. Phone stays locked. Is your phone kept unlocked?

Yes. I don't really like the pin/passcode unlock (also don't really need it). Classic slide is simple and fast enough, but it's crazy that it stays unlocked after a missed call.
Also, I noticed that it automatically enters the last application that was open the last time you locked it, creating even more concerns (last online on messaging applications, online status in facebook, ecc.)
Just imagine you boss calling you, with no luck, and founding out a second later you're online in Facebook. Just because you were ignoring your phone, while driving for example.

I agree - that should not be the expected behavior
nexus5 32gb here, exactly the same behavior.. I had to enable a pin/password unlock method because every missed call would unlock my phone, even in my pocket..
I have the same issue.
Maybe it is because of the app Light Flow Lite ?

I thought this as well, but then I tried it on my friends N5 and had the same behavior, without light flow. I think many of us actually discovered this trying notifications in Light Flow (i bought the pro version) but it's not related to that.

Me too, but I hate it because I can't swipe down from the top to quickly see my notification without unlocking the device first.
Let me know if you guys have any advice on this issue, also report it in this thread to keep it bumped and see if anyone is reporting any solution.

exactly this, it was so useful to just throw a glance to the notifications to decide if open them or simply clean them away
Yes same here, this looks to be a bug surely?

Nice one, I have posted in that discussion as well. Hopefully we will get a response.
Others have the same problem, do you know how to report a problem to google ?
I just tried it on my phone, called from my desk number, missed call. It did open the phone all the way, but the screen turned back off in 5 seconds, per my settings.
My phones is currently stock, have not rooted or unlocked the bootloader yet. Only UI modification apps are Widgetzoid and Dashclock, I wanted to stay stock for a bit.
Sorry, that you are having issues. Unfortunately sometimes the easiest way to figure out what is causing the problems is to do a factory reset, and re-dowload your apps one by one, to see what is causing the problem.
Ok, but a several people have the same issue ...
Anyway, I think I will tri not to miss a call whenever the phone is in my pocket !

I don't like setting the screen timeout so short, many thimes i just place the phone on my desk while messaging and I want the screen to stay on, for at least 2 minutes.
And when I lock my phone to keep it in my pocket, it's supposed to stay locked and ignore any unintended touches as soon as i slide to unlock, which was originally introduced to prevent an unlock by accident. Yes, I could lower my screen timeout to 5 seconds, but that does not solve the problem because still unintended touches can occur in that time frame.

I wasn't sing o set your screen lock time to what I have it set at, I was just saying that it did re-lock. However, you are right, IMO it should not completely unlock the screen when the phone is ringing.
Though I have never not had a passcode on my phone, so not sure if that is how it always behaves. Was just trying to test and be helpful.
I sent a message to the google team, let's wait and see.
here is a link to see the bug :"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSTq8Xhe6Kc&"

Thanks for testing, I was wondering if this could have been related to root / unlocked bootloader somehow but you have confirmed this is not the case as it happens on a totally stock phone.
good catch there. same issue here.
at least a Google employee has responded to the topic created HERE. Maybe that will expedite then pushing out an update ASAP.
Hello
I just bought this phone, and despite navigating the entire settings menu, I am unable to turn up the volume for the ringer. The vibrate icon shows on the status bar,and a notification on the quick settings shows that I'm on vibrate mode.
What have I overlooked??
Edit..disregard.i found the little sound rocker volume above the power button. What is the purpose of it since that's what settings are for ?

When your in a meeting or someplace where your attention is required and you don't want your phone blaring out it's downright disrespectful. And pulling out your phone to unlock and put in silence mode, says a lot to people. Now pulling it out, and hitting the slider makes people curious about the phone, it's just convenient. And with heptic feedback, you can feel what mode your on without even pulling it out.

Thank you. That makes sense. You sound like an expert on this device. I've received a few texts, but there's no light to blink. How can I get notified when the screen is off?
Also, where can I start looking to upgrade it to Android 10 and rooting?

Please understand my respectful reply...but it seems to me that you know very little about this phone...and you want to root it? My serious recommendation is that you stick with stock, go to the Play Store and install Oxygen Updater as this app will get you the latest available updates for the 7 Pro. Stay away from root, and boot loader unlocking as this will wipe the phone and several people have problems doing this. Just stick with stock.

I would agree with you on that, about sticking with stock in OOS. But, Root gives you access to tweak your device to your liking, and add extra security features. Android isn't Android unless your running at Root level. If your new, then I'd suggest you read first, and it helps if you know Linux.

Can you elaborate? What features?
I just upgraded to 10.0.2, and I will root it tonight following arden144's guide. I may not know all the technical details of this device yet, bit I've rooted every phone that I've owned.
Hi,
I have owned Find X2 Pro for about 3 weeks now. I have noticed that my notification is not appearing when the phone is locked. It only shows up when I unlocked my phone.
I know Oneplus also has this issue but can be fixed by disable battery optimization.
Is there any thing I should disable or enable in order to alert me when my phone is locked.?
Have you tried going in to Privacy<Lock Screen and then selecting show notifications

I was disappointed to discover there is no notification LED on this phone, so wanted to find a way to overcome that. I'm not sure it's exactly the same issue you've found, but maybe the solution is the same?
There are several ways to replicate the missing notification indicator, but the one I've been using since I got the Oppo is NotifyBuddy. Although there is a free version (link below), I quickly paid a small amount of money to unlock all its features. This means that notifications appear on my lock screen in the form of app icons - you can select the size, colour and which ones you want to show from a list of all your installed apps. I've set mine to blink on and off at one second intervals and for NotifyBuddy to not show any notifications when the phone is in Do Not Disturb mode. A double-tap brings up the lock-screen fingerprint sensor, so it's easy to open the phone without even picking it up.
This is my preferred set-up, but the program is very flexible. It does consume some battery power because I've set it to run in the background (which seems pretty essential to me) but the extra drain is very small.
You can get it from the Play Store here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xander.android.notifybuddy&hl=en
Thank you John for your reply,
I do not think this will solve my issue nor the original posters issue. When the phone blinks out and goes into its hibernation state/lock screen state and has been idle for quite some time, no notifications come through until the phone has been picked up or woken up then all the notifications flood in. I have tried all sorts of things to get the notifications to work when the phone is in this state but it just does not work. However, if the always on display is on, all notifications work perfectly as the phone is not in that hibernation/resting state. I am not sure this app would help until this aspect is resolved, unless in your experience it has fixed the issue?
Thank you for your reply.

When the phone was in hibernation, I wasn't getting any notifications through either. The app I suggested solved this. Now I get notifications immediately, whatever the phone's state.

Also whilst I am thinking about this, supposedly lock screen magazine can impact notifications if it is turned off so I have enabled this too.
Cheers.
I thought I'd add a photo of my Oppo Find X2 Pro showing how notifications appear on my lock-screen whilst the phone is locked. This is thanks to the NotifyBuddy app which I've discussed earlier in this thread.
Sadly, I seem unable to embed the photo, so here's a link to it:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/john_gass/50301729781/in/dateposted-public/
It shows three simultaneous notifications... Twitter, WhatsApp and TypeApp (which is my preferred email app). The strange position of the icons is because I set up NotifyBuddy's ability to move the icons around to avoid any possibility of OLED screen burn-in.
And finally, I have no connection with this app except that I've been really pleased with it and feel it deserves a bit of promotion!
