My fathers samsung M31 is locked, he says the patter is the same he has been using however, the phone does not seem to think the same. He does not have any Google or Samsung functions set up on it prior, hence having even more difficult trying to unlock it. I'm tried to factory reset BUT the recovery menu will not show up (vol + & Power WITH USBC-Cable) still no luck. Please if someone has a way to help would be really appreciated.

I have a samsung galaxy s2x (SGH-I727R) from rogers. I tried to root it but it did not work as I used a wrong instruction (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1514434) Then I did reset factory which removed the USB storage and made the phone fresh. I then tried another instruction that I cannot remember what it was. I did not work neither I guess. Because, when I put a Bell sim card into the phone it did not recognize that, but there was a superuser app installed in the application menu. However, I tried to run the reset factory again and try another approach, but it did not work. When I try to run reset factory it stops after a couple of seconds. When I shutdown the phone, it cannot completely be off and I have to remove the battery to make it off. I also tried to enter to recovery mode but after pressing a button in that mode the phone is crashed and I need to restart the phone.
So I am really really confused and I don't know what to do. I am also new in this kind of things. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ebi
restore to stock, install cwm or twrp then root, howto's in my sig
Heeeey guuys! Yesterday i rooted my HKC Q79 tab (china tab) and I also tried to install chainfire (which failed so horribly T_T) to play hd games my tab cant handle. Soo after the reboot of chainfire, I got myself in a bootloop and i searched the web for solutions, I havent even slept yet because I really want my old tab back. I finally found a solution and it's to factory reset my tab. At first I thought it was easy cuz i did it on my phone before (through recovery) but then again I have a china tab so the options are in chinese but luckily google is my friend haha xD. After figuring out which option is the factory reset I tried all the buttons on my tab (Power, Volume Up, Volume Down) and to my surprise, nothing works, so basically I got this whole thing figured out but I cant even factory reset it any idea how to have that "enter" kinda button like ones for Samsung when you're in recovery. I know you can use ADB but stupid me didnt do research before rooting and i didnt enable Debugging on the settings sooo ADB's off the list, I guess . I really need help guyyys
Btw, there are also these holes in my tab where you insert a pin (there's 3, first is for reset, second is for the sim card and third is a hole somewhat smaller than the other two) and also, I dont think my tab is a well known tab or something. I searched the net for info and help about my tab and only few came out *sigh*
P.S I'm new here
Hi,
Thanks for using XDA Assist Please post here Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting .
Good Luck!
Okay so I've done about everything heard of to fix this but absolutely no luck it won't even turn off unless I hold the power button and the down volume key which is the simulated battery disconnect. It randomly bricked I haven't rooted this phone and it's not flashed, no tampering
The model is GALAXY S6 (SM-G920V)
I've tried factory reset but it attempts to boot when I select the option in the maintenance boot mode
nothing in the maintenance boot mood does anything it always ends up trying to boot and for some reason I can't access the android recovery menu. I even tried to reinstall the stock ROM no luck it failed I've done everything so I'm here asking if I missed something or if someone can tell me what's wrong with my phone

Hello,
my friends Samsung Galaxy A51 crashed while using it, opening a google docs link she received via WhatsApp.
Restarting the phone will only show Samsung logo, then Samsung Galaxy A51 logo and then dead again. No boot loop.
In the morning the wake up alarm set in the phone plays its chimes but display remains black.
Rebooting phone with holding volume down doesn't work.
The phone is not rooted or flashed.
I can enter Recovery mode. Tried to restart system. Tried to delete cache. Tried to repair apps. None of this changed anything.
I can connect via adb but only in Sideload mode. Hoped to unsintall Samsung Browser as this might be a damaged app. But I don't have permission because USB debugging is not toggled. I tried adb restart and adb restart recovery. Phone will no restart to Android. Restarting to recovery works but doesn't solve the problem.
I can bring the phone to Download mode. Btw. none of the tutorials helped to do this. At some point I double-tapped the power button and was surprised to get into Download mode. I wanted to flash TWRP recovery to the phone to get more options to backup and recovery. Unfortunatley the OEM protection did not allow me to flash TWRP recovery.
My friend is from Ukraine and has her Ukrainian banking app registered with this phone and currently no other possibility to access her bank account. Also she has a lot of data like contacts, messages, photos and videos only on this phone. So we can not do a factory reset.
Do you have any other ideas for troubleshooting?
Do you have any ideas how to remove OEM protection without access to OS so I can at least flash TWRP and do a backup?
Do you have any other idea how I could backup the phone?
Unfortunately I still have not been successful to get the phone working again or to backup or read any data.
Just to add another information: I drained the battery to 0% so the phone was totally dead. I was not optimistic that this full power off might help any more than the restarts I did so far. But running out of ideas. It didn't help or change anything.
I'm afraid only a factory reset could at least repair the phone :-(

Without OEM-Unlocking and USB-Debugging you will not be able to install TWRP and if so then all data would be gone automatically anyway, as this is equivalent to a factory reset.
The only way would be to download the STOCK-ROM with "Frija" (quick and free) and flash it with "Odin". Of course, the mobile phone is then virgin and has to be set up again from the beginning. A Google login restores a lot of data. Setting up the banking app again (username & password, etc.) shouldn't be a problem either.
Of course you can also try a factory reset first, but setting up a completely new one is not avoided here either.
Much luck!
