I'm really hoping someone here can help me with this. I was recently given an Insignia Tablet model NS-14T004.When I got it charged, and began looking at the apps, etc it was running, I started trying to update it, only to find out about it's history with Best Buy, being discontinued by Insignia, not supported for updates, etc. It currently has Android 4.2.2 OS, so is it possible for me to update it to run a more modern version, and if so, can I get some help with it, please? Thank you
The steps you've to do
Check tablet's bootloader is unlockable
If unlockable then find a Custom Recovery suitable to your tablet
If found then find a Custom ROM suitable to your tablet
If found
Unlock booloader
Flash Custom Recovery
Flash Custom ROM
Thanks, I'll start looking that stuff over now

Good Evening everyone,
I'm a beginner in rooting of any huawei's smartphone,
Now i own "Huawei Ascend mate 7 32gb" model "TL-10" purchased within UAE country, I would like to root the phone in simple way in order to be able to return it back to its stock status as an new original product.
All i am focused on is to backup the original stock ROM that contains the stock recovery, and then rooting it to the way that i could get OTA updates if possible.
I've read many threads, but lately one of my friends suggested me to directly go to a website "www.kingroot.com" but i haven't done anything yet and i want to hear your advices and steps to be done first before rooting the device.
In the attachment there is the Phone (ROM + Update details):
First image describes: "Available Update (after purchasing the device)"
Second image describes: "Device ROM, Kernal, etc details."
Thanks for reading, waiting your suggestions.
Best regards,
I have a tablet that is branded by a small company, it came free with a subscription. It is a 2016 8" android tablet at v5.1.1, it starts up with their logo and apps installed.
I want to remove this and install a stock normal version of Android, I understand this is the site to find ROMs but for specific devices. Problem is I don't think this is any known device and is custom specced and built by this company.
Is there a ROM I can use for this tablet? or is there any details I can give so we can narrow down a suitable ROM?
Thanks
Hello forum folks,
I am a newbie to this forum. My only experience is putting a custom ROM on ar phone, so I knew a few basics.
I have a few questions about one device... Wiko View 2 Plus.
Because this phone is not too old there are no custom ROM's available. When do custom ROM's usually start to appear for less popular devices like this one? Do they appear at all?
Also, it I tried to boot into bootloader/fastboot. It seems to be blocked on this device. I tried a few methods from the internet to unlock it, (yes, my OEM is unlocked, USB debugging is on, etc.) but I did not succeed to enter this mode at all. I even replaced the new update by installing an older firmware version. But it didn't change things.
Since this is not possible, I have another question. Can one modify the original ROM (which extracts during the WIKO setup to set back the device to facotry reset) an make this ROM custom? And then install this custom ROM with the official setup?
Can you also modify a downloaded android update before installing it?
Thanks in advance.
Bump
Have you found a solution?
I can't find a good twrp for the Wiko View 2 Pro, any idea?
Hello everyone !
I just got a Vivo Y70 and I wanted to try to install other OS on it.
But I don't seem to find anything for this model.
Isn't there really not much thing for this device ?
Thanks in advance.
unfortunaltey this is the phone no one wants to develop for
not even a single custom rom found although i found it a good mid ranger budget phone with quite good camera and processing ability .
If only there was a bootstrap to begin with, I have this phone and I'm sick of all that boilerplate iManager and app killer...
As a dev guy, I will be happy to at least provide some tips and improve my life and your if you find the firsts steps of how to root a phone (some endpoint to enter the bootloader code, and root safely a phone)
I am also waiting if someone can figure out the steps to go back to android 10 for Y70 phone it was working pretty fast but as i updated to android 11 its almost dead slow now .. and guess what there is no option to revert back to stock android 10 firmware as well.
Well I have just received an OTA official security update (March 2023), so the device is still supported by the manufaturer: I do not see yet an urgent need for a custom ROM. I'll be waiting at the door when the phone will start aging more.
Hey there,
I´ve had a Chuwi Hi8 lying in a drawer for years because I never had use for it. Now I would love to use it as a Dashboard for my Home-Assistant but that would require Android 5+.
I know that there are update for this Device around but all links on the official forums are dead and there are LOTS of shady sites when googling for updates to this device.
Ofc it is a far shot finding someone here that has experience with a stupid Device like this but hey, maybe I hit the jackpot
Moving from Android 4.4 to Android 5+ isn't an update but an upgrade.
To upgrade your phone's Android you need a
1. Custom Recovery
2. Custom ROM
both suitable to the phone.
If both found then you flash the Custom Recovery and if successful, you flash the Custom ROM by means of the Custom Recovery.
