I am a newbie to this forum. My only experience is putting a custom ROM on ar phone, so I knew a few basics.
I have a few questions about one device... Wiko View 2 Plus.
Because this phone is not too old there are no custom ROM's available. When do custom ROM's usually start to appear for less popular devices like this one? Do they appear at all?
Also, it I tried to boot into bootloader/fastboot. It seems to be blocked on this device. I tried a few methods from the internet to unlock it, (yes, my OEM is unlocked, USB debugging is on, etc.) but I did not succeed to enter this mode at all. I even replaced the new update by installing an older firmware version. But it didn't change things.
Since this is not possible, I have another question. Can one modify the original ROM (which extracts during the WIKO setup to set back the device to facotry reset) an make this ROM custom? And then install this custom ROM with the official setup?
Can you also modify a downloaded android update before installing it?

Hi all,
So I had a custom 4.4.4 Rom, on a JB bootloader because I can't install roms that have a KK one, says that device is not compatible.
The other day I changed provider, so I had to flash a factory rom so I can unlock it to accept new provider SIM card.
So basicly, now I have a xt925 with unlocked bootloader, but with an old 4.1.2 Orange rom, no more Recovery, and I guess no more root too.
Could anyone tell me (or point me to a web page, because I only found ICS->JB tutorials, KK tutorials with broken links to required files ) how I can do to have a nice KK rom, with KK bootloader and recovery ? (plus my actual rom is badly acting with my radio, I loose signal every 5 seconds or so, which is pretty annoying).
Any help will be greatly appreciated :highfive:

i was trying to remove kingroot and replace it with supersu after rooting; changed some superuser files and rebooted, now android won't load and i don't have a stock ROM or backup.
ironically i was trying to switch to supersu to get flashfire to work since i can't find a custom recovery (or any files or official english documentation) for it and don't trust flashing a possibly compatible custom recovery; it is a chinese, unbranded 8 inch tablet with built in projector, the ROM installed on it is likely customized from a network projector build of kitkat 4.4.4. the only scant documentation it came with is entirely in chinese, since it has no real "brand" i have no company site to visit for help and official downloads.
i tried a factory reset with no luck, and the stock recovery requires signed packages which would be excellent if i knew where to procure them.
the only thing i am certain of is the model rk3188, which is rockchip. i tried scouring through their entire list of firmware downloads but could not find anything close to BULUSE, H69, T80, YS, or any of the other generic names i've found it listed under.

Although I'm not a totally newbie, I mean I installed Honeycomb on the OG Desire watch out for the volume tho, but I'm totally new to the Huawei thing, although I've owned a Ascend Mate 7 and a P9+ I never went as far as looking for root and custom ROMs, and I'm specially not educated in the whole architectural changes that treble brings.
So I've a few questions, and hopefully someone can clear some of them for me.
1- Unlocked BL means no OTA right? Also not via Firmware Finder?
2- Running stock, if a new update pops up on the web, I download the .zip and extract everything. I can flash the systems but I'm missing lots of things there, fixes on the kernel, and other stuff. Should I flash them all? Is it recommend? Or are the risks to high? Should I wait for the specific rom to be signed for my IMEI or am I okay as long as I choose the right branding (Europe for me).
3- And having magisk root... Does will it make flashing a new update any complicated?
4 - (and the last), when running a AOSP rom, is it possible/recommend to extract a new stock kernel and flash it when an update is available?

i have a device with RockChip RK3228, custom hardware, with LG display, from one German company, which is working, but, wrong flashed and no working OS on it. Company don't won't to send firmware, but I have another same device, with android system perfectly working. Can I somehow install Android on that device? Can the working device system files help me with that?

No I don't think that the OS present in another device would be very helpful in getting the OS of damaged device. What you can do is to install a custom recovery to your LG device and then install a custom rom on it. The rom would be very much customizable as compared to your android and even if you want to get your android OS then you can flash it. If you find any problems in flashing recovery or roms then feel free to contact me.
I'm really hoping someone here can help me with this. I was recently given an Insignia Tablet model NS-14T004.When I got it charged, and began looking at the apps, etc it was running, I started trying to update it, only to find out about it's history with Best Buy, being discontinued by Insignia, not supported for updates, etc. It currently has Android 4.2.2 OS, so is it possible for me to update it to run a more modern version, and if so, can I get some help with it, please? The steps you've to do
Check tablet's bootloader is unlockable
If unlockable then find a Custom Recovery suitable to your tablet
If found then find a Custom ROM suitable to your tablet
If found
Unlock booloader
Flash Custom Recovery
Flash Custom ROM
