Hello, I've found a Galaxy Note 4 in my room and decided to put twrp or something on it but when i plug it in my laptop it says device not recognized
I've tried everything, Kies, drivers smartswitch
I rebooted in download mode put the tar file in odin in AP
And I get
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0)
Please help me
Hey man, try unplugging and plugging it in again..... and maybe head into windows update and look for a driver wanting to install that is waiting for approval.....
What is the exact error message displayed on the laptop and what do you see in odin when you flash....send screenshots pls.
I can help.

I put it in download mode but yeah
I knew it was something blue on odin
@monsiu
Yea a blue bar should appear saying (0) com showing that a device is connected.
kindly first try going back to stock rom....then try the twrp using odin.
Try all of these and see if it works....

My suggestions:
1)It could be an issue with your pc rather than your phone so maybe try using another pc
2)Try changing the cable and use another usb...the usb could be faulty
But just try the things in the article above

I'm not sure on this error. Is it from the KaiserCustomRUU Application?
I;ve attached the one I use, just incase you need a different version.
If you still having problems, a little more info on what your doing at the time (and what you've done so far, Hard SPL, etc).
Thanks
Dave
I had this for a while and i thought it was a rom issue but all my older roms did it also.
you need to repair or reinstall active sync to fix it

I am having the same problem...I have the HardSPL flashed but when I try (and yes I tried the one that is attached to this post) and flash the ROM with the KaiserCustomerRUU exe. file it comes back "The update utility can not open the requested file. Please check your Update Utility".
How do I repair the active sync as it runs fine right now?
Do you have "Enable USB connections" checked?
Yep it's enabled and connected

did you try just putting your phone into bootloader (hold down the camera button while soft resetting with the stylus) and flashing while in bootloader?
In Windows Task Manager, check and see if rapimgr.exe and wcescomm.exe is running. If either one of those are not running, then you will need to reboot the PC. Also, you can try another USB slot on the PC. Everytime this has happened to me, a reboot of the PC always fixed the issue.

OOOOOHHHHH, It's on now.
Hey guys,
So I got my hands on a Note Pro collecting dust and wanted to update it.
I believe its originally a Russian device.
I have no sim card installed and OTA will not work (gets server errors)
The US 5.1.1 OTA update fails out and I noticed the CSC-code it is looking for is SER
Oh yeah, Odin won't detect the device. Keis is useless and the new Smart Switch doesn't help much either
I think I need a Russian version of the update. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I've been hunting all day and can't find much.

If your device is rooted ota will not work(use root checker on play store to confirm) therefore, we will use the odin way. The software being russian or not does not matter as we are using odin now...for odin to get the device to recognise is to do:
1: check connecting your device to your pc with different usb cable.
2:Try changing usb ports
3:Re-install samsung usb drivers
4: Reply and tell me if the operating system of your pc is windows 7 or not.
5:Go into developer mode (activate it by pressing the build number of your device in phone settings) then turn usb debugging option on..........Though not sure but may work!
6: Hit the thanks button!!

The device is not rooted.
All stock and reset.
Tried different ports
Already reinstalled drivers.
Debugging mode is on
Odin doesn't recognize.
Using Win 7
For some reason, Odin saw it out of the blue. Never restarted my computer. Used the same port.
Got it updated

In case it happens again go to driver manager from control panel and see if the icon for the note pro has a caution sign if it does then you you should click the uninstall driver option and then right click anywhere and click the scan for hardware option. this has happened to me as well and I did this amd it recognizes my note pro instantly.check it out. Thank you for reading my post.

Can you please give me the driver link for CDC?

after i install the ADB installer from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979

but the other 3 ports are ander the "Other Devices" and no driver...
Can you please give me the drivers for the rest. and explain?!
Thanks
I have had the phone for just under two weeks and all seemed to be running fine until I plugged the device into the PC recently, I changed the connection mode from charging to MTP but nothing happened, I followed the instructions in this thread but still no success. I've attached a screenshot showing the discrepancy in the setting and notification bar.

You have to tap the notification (it will open a popup) and change to MTP each time you connect to the computer.

On the first day when I connected the phone to my PC everything was fine, I installed Xperia Companion and was able to access the internal storage/memory card. I tried on another PC and again all seemed fine. It is just on my main PC, there is a driver error (according to Windows device manager). Updating fails, uninstalling and plugging the device back in also doesn't work.
I think I have found the cause, https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us...soft-wpd/9f900903-50d8-4935-939d-5dbf8d6bd1d0
Now I need to figure out a way to remove the faulty driver!

You don't need to enable debugging to use MTP
Problem solved!
Problem solved, it is caused by the new driver update (Microsoft – WPD – 2/22/2016 12:00:00 AM – 5.2.5326.4762), it seems to have issue with some devices-specifically Mediatek powered ones. The solution is simple, uninstall the driver update via Windows, if that isn't possible then use system restore, if even that fails (like in my case) then the driver can be manually removed using command prompt, as explained here. Now the device connects fine, just like it used to.
As far as I am aware the update has now been pulled so shouldn't install. I triggered the installation of the update myself after manually checking for updates-that's the last time I'll be doing that. :silly:
Fix
Apparently there's a very simple solution. Same thing happened with me a few days ago, search for " How to Fix MTP! problem in windows 10 " on Youtube uploaded by " Infinity Studio " watch this it solved my problem. (Sorry can't post link as m still a junior member)

If there is a way to flash its firmware, flashing the firmware might remove the password.
I just did, it didn't change anything about the android side of things
When you boot up, you are basically using it as a normal digital camera, then you can enter the android side of the device, which i forgot my password of
