I have a Isudar radio for my alfa 159 car.
I have read Erisin radio works perfect in a 159 car. Its canbus box is:

I would like to know if a canbus box of one brand works for radios of other brands?
I have contacted the seller Erisin and they cannot guarantee it will work in others brands.

Now I update mcu to HA 3.71, and I´m doing tests.

I am unsure what unit I have and what I can use for updates/rooting and other goodies.
Here's a pic:
You have a MTCD, KLD is the manufacturer, with a PX5 system on module (SOM).
When I look in the available ROMs I don't seem to find this MTCD KLD combination. Am I not looking in the right place? And if so where is the right place?
Or is it that all MTCD units use the same ROMs regardless of the manufacturer? Of course px3 or px5 variants would use ROMs built for that particular px.

The head units are really in two parts, "Android hardware" + "car radio stuff". The "car radio stuff" is the MCU, KLD in your case.

When it comes to ROMs you can use any RK3368/PX5 ROM, its only when it comes to flashing MCUs that the "KLD" bit is relevant.

I am trying to source a VW Golf 7 CANBus since i have changed car, i wanted to confirm they work with universal units, it's my uderstanding they just replace the usual powerlead and add a canbus inline.

Ask dasaita for a golf canbus as you have changed the mcu to HA.
There you could set up your settings to the new canbus

Currently I have the TDA7706 for FM reception and I find the reception very bad, even with an antenna powered by 12 volts.
I would like to know if I can make a swap between the TDA7706 and the TDA7786 on my MTCE KGL unit ? (my mcu is a KGL v2.80 and i have a PX3 proc)
Looking at the schematics for the 2 TDAs, I noticed that there is no difference. I wanted to know if someone has already made this change ?
I also ask myself the following question :
- Should I change other parts to improve FM ?
- Will the MCU detect the new IC TDA7786 ?

In your hardware section, you discuss the change between a TDA7786 and a TEF6686.
But I have a TDA7706 whose FM reception is rotten. RDS works poorly and FM sensitivity is very low.

Is the unit an MTCD type or variant. Post answer with screenshot of mcu version.
Hi ! I have on my Kia Ceed JD an "old" PX5 from ZNY. It works just fine ... but maybe it's time for an upgrade.
