[aosp project][custom rom developement]

Hi guys!I want to become an android developer and I know about the AOSP project, but I have not found based of android versions.I want worker on ICS ROM for galaxy pocket(GT-S5300)or cyanogenmod 9,but on a "pure"ROM,without any modification, like nexus android version, for worked on it and optimize for any devices.
1)How I can optimized an android version like Nexus devices for a specific device?
2)Where I can download the necessary for a ROM or a ROM to be optimized?
Thanks
Simply start by downloading cori's source and aosp android of your choice, then edit & merge things from source to aosp then compile.

[Q&A] CM 12.1 nightlies vs CM 12.1 OS? (+ other)

Hi guys, i've searched an answer to this but nothing so here I am.
What are the main differences from CyanogenMod 12.1 Nightlies and CyanogenOS 12.1?
The OS is build especially for the One plus One and so?? The battery drain is different? The desing??
Do you recommend one or another?
And for finish this, why I would install a rom on my smartphone built on Cyanogen? Why I would change the kernel?
Thanks
They're from the same tree but are different branches. CM12.1 is the nightly branch, more up to date, but can be susceptible to bugs. COS12.1 is considered to be the stable branch, less up to date. There is plenty of information online on why one would use a custom kernel, just search for it.

AOSP-based CAF build, possible ?

Hello guys, i've been searching this for sometime, but still can't find the answer. I'm quite new to Nexus 5, and i didn't know the history about how CAF branch was made beside aosp branch in hammerhead. The only think i know is, CAF commits was once merged by cm to aosp, but introduce many bugs. So it was divided into two branch like now. I like CAF build (the reality, i like experimental builds ) but i only found cm based roms for CAF build
TL;DR is it possible to build AOSP roms based on CAF branch ?
Thanks !

{Help me decide please} CAF based rom vs AOSP

Hi, i recently bought this phone, and im looking for some answers..
Whats the pros/cons CAF based rom has on this phone?
i know a CAF based rom is better optimized, but i want to know if there is any instabilities compared to aosp.
thanks in advance! :good:
Think of CAF as the bleeding edge. When it matures, it gets pulled into AOSP.

what is the most basic nougat 7.1 rom?

like aosp but updated cause the one we have has no updates
You did not tell us if you have Osprey or Merlin phone. If you have an Osprey, like me:
I guess the ported stock Nougat ROM will be the most basic. Link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/20.../rom-stock-rom-6-0-1-optimized-t3609991/page1
Check this thread for further ROM suggestions for Osprey:

Or just search through the Original Android Development forum for all different G3 variants:

Lineage OS is also a great Nougat rom. Almost AOSP, no heavy customization and great stability
If you do go for more customizations AOSP Extended is great
Pure Nexus ROM: very stable (my daily driver and never found any issue), smooth and very simple and light ROM ?
LineageOS or aosp-caf, I’d say
I agree with @nubry Purenexus is my favorite for a close to AOSP rom.
