{Help me decide please} CAF based rom vs AOSP - Nexus 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i recently bought this phone, and im looking for some answers..
Whats the pros/cons CAF based rom has on this phone?
i know a CAF based rom is better optimized, but i want to know if there is any instabilities compared to aosp.
thanks in advance! :good:

Think of CAF as the bleeding edge. When it matures, it gets pulled into AOSP.

Best TouchWiz and ASOP based roms?

What is the best TouchWiz rom and what's the best ASOP based rom? I can't decide so I thought I'd get everyone's opinion?
Well the best TouchWiz ROM I believe is M.O.A.R. v6.1
CM12.1 from vinman12 is the most stable CM12 based ROM I have seen for our phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-galaxy-s5/development/tn-kltespr-5-1-t3063695
Wrong section to be posting this
April is Autism Awareness Month. Sent from my Sprint Galaxy S5
I thought asking this was highly discouraged? Also wrong place for Q&A.

Okay so that is the ROM for stock android?
Well it depends on your definition of stock;
Stock Android is built by google for Google branded phones (Nexus 5,6, etc)
CyanogenMod is AOSP (Android Open Source Project) based and is usually also considered Stock. But it does have modifications and tweaks. (CM12.1 from Vinman12 is lightly modded with some battery tweaks, hotspot, LCD density, etc.)
There is also MOAR ROM which is Samsung TouchWiz based, Heavily modified. But it is very stable, and smooth.
I'd still recommend CM12.1 from Vinman12 from my previous post only because Cyanogenmod, in my opinion, is much much better for your phone. Much less bloat so you have more space for stuff and things.
Really the choice is up to you. This is one of the perks of having an Android device.

[Q] CM slightly slow compared to other roms?

Hi!
I was on RR 6 and got tired of the bugs. Wanted to move to Sultan 5.1.1 but because of a glitch, ended up with CM latest stable release (which is 12.1 I think - based on 5.1.1).
It's a great rom! Only question I have is:
Do you guys notice slower performance compared to other roms?
Thanks

AOSP-based CAF build, possible ?

Hello guys, i've been searching this for sometime, but still can't find the answer. I'm quite new to Nexus 5, and i didn't know the history about how CAF branch was made beside aosp branch in hammerhead. The only think i know is, CAF commits was once merged by cm to aosp, but introduce many bugs. So it was divided into two branch like now. I like CAF build (the reality, i like experimental builds ) but i only found cm based roms for CAF build
TL;DR is it possible to build AOSP roms based on CAF branch ?
Thanks !

Is Slimroms any good?

Howdy, everyone. I have SM-G313HN and it has CM-12.1 Installed. Its not very smooth. I have a friend, who can compile roms to my device and i found SlimLP. is this any good for better battery life, performance etc?
A mobile device's performance basically depends on its hardware ( CPU / GPU / RAM ).
BTW: SlimLP is deprecated. See also here
[CLOSED][DEPRECATED] SlimLP
SlimLP Android 5.x A new "unified" Galaxy Tab 2 section was added to our forum because we don't make a difference between p31xx an p51xx specific roms. Please use the Thread here for SlimLP related questions and feedback

All of this dpends on rom quality and device specs. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (1 GB ram) and except for SlimKAT (Android 4.4), LP, MM, N are not at all good. All of them are slow and if installed gapps, they are terrible !! Only SlimKAT is best among Slimroms for Tab 2.

I have experience of Ressurrection Remix (android 6) because no one made any android 5 RR rom for tab 2. RR (android 6) is one of the best roms I've found (for galaxy tab 2)
