I thought it would be interesting to see how everyone is using and configuring their LG G2X. I tried to figure out the most common items to list. Below is my phone's configuration:
UPDATED JULY 23, 2013
Android Version: CM7 Daily (March 1, 2013)
Kernel: Trinity T15-G2x-06022012
Overclocked?: Yes, default is 1.2GHz, profiles managed by SetCPU
Launcher: Holo Launcher Plus (paid)
Video Player: MX Player
Music Player: Winamp
Picture Gallery: QuickPic

Camera Apps: LG Camera Pro (paid), Vignette, Night Cam, Action Snap, Zoom Camera
Email App: K-9 Mail
Important Android System Apps: Elixir 2, Battery Monitor Widget Pro (paid), ROM Manager Pro (paid), SetCPU for Root (paid), Fast Reboot
Important Work Apps: ColorNote, Current Caller ID
Text Messages App: default CM7 messaging
Notes:
- I use Droid Wall to block internet access to anything and everything that doesn't need it, including cameras, media players, books, calendar, contact list. In all, 40 apps are blocked. The speedup of my phone as a result is amazing.
- Phone is overclocked to 1.2GHz, profiles for cameras and video overclocks to 1.5GHz
- LG Camera Pro is the best camera app for this phone.
Other important apps: Robin (Siri), Kindle for Android, MySword Bible, TuneIn Radio Pro (Paid)
Android Version: Mokee OS latest
Kernel: Mazout360 stable
Overclocked?: No
Launcher: Mokee OS
Video Player: QuickPic
Music Player: Poweramp
Picture Gallery: QuickPic
Firewall: None
Camera Apps: CM7
Email App: Stock/none
Important Android System Apps: SetCPU, voodoo sound, fast reboot, reboot Scheduler.
Important Work Apps: none
Text Messages App: default CM7 messaging
I use fast reboot during the day to speed things up when they get slow, and reboot Scheduler at night to reboot while I'm asleep so that it's fresh in the morning.
Poweramp and voodoo sound are necessary to drive my headphones and car stereo.
Android Version: Speedster Rom Alpha 27
Kernel: Mazkrnl 0427noOCnoDS
Overclocked?: 1100mhz limited by no OC
Launcher: ADWLauncher 1.3.3.8(ICS)
Video Player: QuickPic
Music Player: Play Music
Picture Gallery: QuickPic
Firewall: Why?
Camera Apps: FullHD mod1
Email App: Gmsil
Important Android System Apps: Voodoo Sound, Titanium Backup
Important Work Apps:
Text Messages App: default CM7 messaging
Notes:
- I like minimal amount of apps
- Speedster rom is my own creation soon to be released
- I turn off syncing on most of my apps because I found they drain battery and don't work well on gb.
- FullHD mod is probably one of the best camera mods because I find it is snappier than market camera apps and uses the default g2x camera so it uses that tegra hardware acceleration well. And full HD recording is nice.

I've been using Fast Reboot, thanks, I see the difference!
Do you and @iLovPieNCake use Voodoo Sound free or the paid app?

Where is FullHD mod? Is this a camera app, or a patch? Can you post a link?
I use the free version but I just checked out the paid and I might buy it.
I grabbed this mod from the o2x forums and I've had no problem with it.

Voodoo free if you have kernel support. Voodoo paid is supposed to make it work even if you don't have it baked into the kernel, but it didn't work on stock CM kernel so I didn't bother.

I like the viper audio app better than voodoo to be honest. I deleted voodoo 10 minutes after installing, and yes i have kernel support for it with Trinity. Viper makes a huge difference on my phone's audio. I also downloaded the camera mod from o2x forums. Works great!
singh miui rom plus Trinity kernel at 1.1ghz with slight undervolt. super quick and rock solid stability

I don't like that it reduces battery life. But thanks anyway.
Np. I only have it running when I listen to music. Other than that I disable it

How bad exactly is this phone? I
Im using ICS and there are a few lags here and there, but I don't really notice anything bad with it. What's so special about newer phones that everyone calls this one crap?
Android Version: CM7 March 1, 2013

- I use Droid Wall to block internet access to anything and everything that doesn't need it, including cameras, media players, books, calendar, contact list. In all, 40 apps are blocked. The speedup of my phone as a result is amazing. -Thanks EEgineer
- With Fast Reboot (free) I get the best results when I have "Lock home in memory" checked in CM performance settings. No need to wait for the launcher to reload!
- I have the VM Heap size setting changed from 32m(stock) to 48m and performance has been MUCH MUCH smoother. Try it for yourself if it suits you!
-I use SD Maid about once every day-three and clean up with corpsefinder(not as useful past initial cleanup unless you install/remove a lot of apps) and systemcleaner(!) (all except Gallery thumbnails)
-My Backup root I just use for Call logs, SMS and MMS backup. I use Titanium Backup for all User apps only (filtered out system apps)
Other important apps: My Tracks (very cool!) Ulysse Speedometer, FuelLog, SwiFTP, KeePassDroid, Dropbox, BOX, Google Voice (LOVE IT!), Password Card.
PS thanks for the tips on DroidWall and Fast Reboot
Wow, this is a blast from the past seeing all of the old G2x threads. I kinda miss it, as it is not as overbearing and huge like the Nexus 4 community. This is awesome. Anyways my G2x configuration consists of: dead, cracked screen and in my drawer, sadly, but if i remember correctly, I had one of the most recent CM7 nightlies, and possibly a Faux kernel, and a basic gingerbread launcher. It will not turn on, it's been dead for 5 months. The end of a legend (my first smartphone (G2x)). Good luck to everyone that currently has a G2x!

If it's not on DroidWall's application list, then maybe that camera doesn't need network access.

Yeah I don't think cameras need network access either, like what Eengineer stated. However, if you just don't feel like having a camera app on your phone you could always freeze it with titanium backup or some other similar application. This way you could always get it back within just a few seconds if you want to use it again.
First of all, its completely NOT my work, its just a share and you should know what it means....
The Download comes with 3 applications
(i) Camera - You know its stock android's camera, great UI, smoother focus, better job without lag. You can also use photosphere feature. The only problem is you can't add those Sepia, B&W like Samsung's inbuilt, but I would personally suggest stock camera cuz you know you only seldom use those features.
(ii) Gallery - You dont need ad-filled KK Gallery from playstore or use the sluggish Samsung Gallery, its UI and animations are awesome! SuperSuggest!!
(iii) Video Player - The vdo player is just like (or worse) than the Samsung's stock, if you ever used MX Player, you will hate this.
HOW TO INSTALL
There's only a single file, just install is as normal apk and you're good to go!

This hidden feature will boost your Android gaming performance [/B

Great
Greate toool
It will not boost performance. It will make graphics better.
From the website:
"After you activate this function, your Android phone will render games at the highest possible quality."
It will activate anti aliasing, therefore consuming more power and resources, reducing performance in order to make it look better.
Nice setting, however usually when using higher quality settings it can also decrease performance on slower devices.
Isn't it danager to overclock the phone
The phone will get bad not better i don't recommend it
