Question My phone is now eligible for sim unlock from Sprint but i dont have on device settings - OnePlus 9

Info:
I used the MSM tool automatic package to get convert to global firmware. It supposedly bypasses the need for a bootloader unlock code from oneplus.
Anyways if i use the other MSM tool to convert back to stock firmware, it still downloads the global firmware.
Right now my phone is on the latest version of the global firmware updated with the Oxygen Updater app.
My settings do not have the Dim Unlock option but the rest of the network stuff (5G, VoLTE, Wifi Calling, hotspot, etc) work fine. I have a t-mobile sim card activated with a Sprint Plan.
Could sprint do a remote unlock or could i go to a tmobile store and have them unlock it? Or is there some app i can use to get to the setting?
Now that i am eligible i would like to sim unlock so i can ungrey my oem unlock button.
Thanks

Update: ive tried manually installing the APK for T-Mobile's Device Unlock app and it doesnt seem to function.

^This. You need to sim unlock before converting to international, or you will be unable to unlock the bootloader and have OEM unlocking. At least until they fix the MSM to be able to skip sim unlocking.

Yes, you can try it that way. If the device is already fully paid off you can also simply contact Tmobile and they will be able to sim unlock it for you already as well, or if you haven't paid off and want to chance it, you can try contacting them on twitter or through the tmobile app and try to get the customer service rep to unlock it. Though if you haven't paid it off it's probably easier and faster to DM the OP from that thread.

I have the international version and am also stuck with the greyed out OEM Unlocking option. My bootloader is also still locked. Any help would be very much appreciated. I have tried using fastboot to oem unlock but I get this error
FAILED (remote: Please enable OEM unlocking in developer options first)
finished. total time: 0.007s
It was on a Chinese ROM before and I did use https://oxygenos.oneplus.net/Fulldowngrade_wipe_18821_190425_0253_user_fix_revision_MP_release.zip to downgrade so I could switch to the English ROM.
I also have a one plus 7 pro. It has been carrier unlocked but still the OEM unlock is greyed out. It is running Android 10. Is there a way to 'ungrey' the OEM unlock option? Thx
Do a search for this "The T-Mobile OnePlus 7 Pro’s bootloader can be unlocked by flashing Android Q" and fallow the instructions. Instruction are on xda.
There is no need to unlock the sim on the T-Mobile phone to unlock the bootloader.
Phone needs to be on the international firmware. This can be done with the patched msm tool. Then downgrade to android development preview 3 using local upgrade on phone. Unlock via fastboot and finally root and install a working rom or do the rollback to android p via local upgrade. Search for the guide and fallow the instructions. It really simple.
Kind of related. I converted my t mobile oneplus 7 pro to the international version and am eligible for a sim unlock. I tried to do it over chat but they said since it's not their version of android I would have to do a factory reset (which wouldn't convert it back to t-mobile stock) in order to sim unlock it, does anyone know how to sim unlock it on the international version with t-mobiles help. I would have thought t-mobile could just do it on their end but I guess not, and I guess they are kind of idiots over there to, because initially they had no idea what i meant when i said i converted it to the international version (heck they still didn't understand that I changed the firmware/ROM) so resetting it wouldn't make it a t-mobile phone again.

Backup everything you might need and revert back to T-Mobile stock firmware with msm tool. Use the provided app by the T- Mobile stock firmware to unlock sim.

Doesn't work.. all it did was end up bricking a new device.

T-MOBILE Unlock

So I have one plus 7 pro with the international firmware installed but I have been having trouble getting the device unlocked the T-Mobile app does not work it keeps saying I am unlocked but when I reboot with a non T-Mobile SIM the phone tells me that it's locked yes I have paid off my phone and have had $100 on my account it's been cleared with T-Mobile
Have you had the phone activated with an active SIM inside of it for 40+ days?

Yes, that's what T-Mobile states you need to fulfill in order unlock your device.
If you're not the original owner, they WILL NOT unlock it.
you need to be on t-mobile firmware
Flash back to the T-Mobile firmware with MSM Download Tool, then unlock with the app. Then flash to the international firmware again with MSM Download tool then you'll be able to fastboot oem unlock without issues.

Sprint OnePlus 7 Pro 5G Possibilities?

So I just paid off my Sprint OnePlus 7 Pro 5G. I got off the phone with them today and it should be SIM unlocked by this time tomorrow.
I have a few questions for anyone who might know the answers.
1. Will this enable the grayed out "OEM Unlocking" In developer options so I can get an unlock bin from OnePlus? If not is it currently possible to enable the grayed out "OEM Unlocking" option in developer options? (For example on my OnePlus Nord N200 a simple adb fastboot command removing an app enabled it and gave me the ability to toggle the option.
2. Looking around it looks like there isn't much support for the Sprint version of this phone. Are there custom ROMs that work universally that are fairly established in the community that will work on all carriers?
3. Is it possible to get a custom ROM or Root on the Sprint OnePlus 7 Pro 5G with out an unlocked bootloader?
4. Is it possible to flash from a Sprint version to a T Mobile version?
Main reason here is come this time next year Sprints old network will be fully shut down and I want to be able to use this Sprint branded phone on other networks and feel like I'll need an unlocked bootloader, root, or a custom rom to do so.

1. It's possible to unlock the bootloader using a patched MSM tool or converting to the EU 5G firmware and doing it the old fashioned traditional method.
2. There is no support at all. Custom ROMs can and will install but most will either bootloop or face modem, location and rotation issues. I've tried porting tons of roms at this point and nothing has worked. GSIs though do work but they come with their set of issues.
3. You can root the stock OOS 10 firmware, but fully functional custom ROMs are out of the question. BUT rooting with a LOCKED bootloader is IMPOSSIBLE.
4. No. Due to a different partition scheme and modem, you cannot convert to the international or T-Mobile firmware.
I've made a little write up linked here (
https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePlus7Pro/comments/pnpvjx
). If you would like to know as much as possible about this device.
Thanks for all the info this really helps.
So is it not possible then to even use this device on T-Mobiles network?
Assuming its unlocked(By Sprint or so they say it is now) the hardware should be able to connect to T Mobiles 4G network and maybe the 5G?

You might be able to use it on T-Mobile's LTE/4G network but not 5G. I can't confirm as I live in Canada though.
hey!
can confirm, this version sucks, I have this phone and I just totally bricked it lol
I'm able to access fastboot but I'm not able to find any images I can use to get the default OS back. I just want to restore it to factory settings, but alas :\

T-Mobile Carrier Sim Unlock

I have a T-Mobile OP 8T that I converted a while back to global in order to unlock bootloader. Recently I paid the full balance on the phone and from reading online it can be unlocked with the T-Mobile Unlock app. I downloaded the T-Mobile unlock app, but its not working on the Global rom. Anyone know how to sim unlock a paid T-Mobile phone or do I need to call to do that?
Try this?
OnePlus: Settings > Wi-Fi & internet > SIM & network, then choose Advanced or Network Unlock
If you want to use T-Mobile device unlock app , you need to go back to TMobile firmware again

Yes, you needed to unlock SIM with T-Mobile's app before you converted to global.
You'll need to MSM back to OOS11 again. After unlocking is successful you are free to upgrade to OOS13 or flash a custom ROM

Question Xfinity model that google says is unlocked

I have a pixel6a from xfinity the regulatory label says model GX7AS. I used the Google repair website and checked the imei and it tells me my pixel6a is an unlocked version. Yet oem unlock is still grayed out and if I try a diffrent sim it doesn't work either. Because it's an unlocked model shouldn't I be able to unlock the bootloader?

Most of the time, "unlocked" just means it can be used on any network and has nothing to do with the bootloader unlock. If you're not able to use it with another SIM, I believe you'd need to contact the original carrier (XFinity) and determine if it's carrier locked. They should be able to unlock it for you, or at least tell you why they can't.
I'm not sure whether they can help with the bootloader lock, though. Some variants are not bootloader unlockable.
Yeah idk google told me it's unlocked and I should be able to use any sim but yet I can't it just confuses me like there should be a work around or something. If I got a phone from say tmobile it wouldn't be an unlocked model it would be carrier branded but xfinity pixel is an unlocked model no carrier brand but still locked to xfinity

Google doesn't control carrier locking, the carrier does. You need to contact XFinity regarding using it on a different network.
