Anybody happen to have the ROM for Android 11? I just saw that Pumpkin has Android 11 units. However, I haven't been able to find any Android 11 roms available online. If anyone happens to have one or a unit with it that can pull the ROM, it would be very appreciative.
Its likely fake, as for the FYT units.
Hey, no worries, welcome.

Alright. Thanks for the clarification. I thought maybe we were getting Android 11 for MTCE/D. Though, I wouldn't expect a big difference between it and 10, or 9 for that matter.

It's not as cool as those Marshall amps which go to eleven.

Hello
Is it possible that we will have android 6 or 7 on ours MTCD units? Or MTCD has only 5.x and its max?
No. They shouldn't even have forced 5.1.1 on the RK3188 chipset, as you can see from all the complaining, its too damn slow.
My thoughts exactly, I am now looking for a 4.4 ROM for MTCD to try
@sterod ok, Im using iOS on phone and dont know android good but newer android like a 6 or 7 dont need less ram and cpu? I think is more optymalized than older.
No. They need more of both. It was a hack to get the rock chip 3188 kernel to run android 5.1.1, it was never meant to and now all of us with slow and laggy MTCD units are feeling the buyers remorse.

No downgrade possible?
Not that I'm aware of. Parts of the board are not compatible between the two versions.

And a good old software downgrade? Like back in the days with Android.
My unit works pretty smooth. It only takes a bit of time to boot. Any boot speed up tips?
That's what I meant, you can't downgrade a MTCD 5.1.1 unit to 4.4.4
Boot speed up can be improved by running the "speed" app in the status bar to disable startup apps

Got a link? Can't seem to find it in the playstore. Or am i looking in the wrong direction?
It's built into the rom. When you are using the head unit, if you pull down the top status bar, you should see an icon called "speed" alongside the others like Amp, etc.
i would definitely be interested in a faster model, but i certainly do not have buyer's remorse over my Joying MTCD with Android 5.1, i love it.

Mike, if you didnt previously own a MTCB 4.4.4 unit (like I did) then you may not know just how bad the MTCD's are in comparison. With 4.4.4 EVERYTHING worked, Bluetooth, super fast GPS, no lag, it was wonderful. MTCD was a huge step backwards.
well that is correct, I did not own a MTCB before, so I have nothing to compare it to
Ignorance is truly bliss! Thankfully these units are cheap and essentially disposable at their price point. MTCD is going to be forgotten as the red headed stepchild that Windows Vista was If I could get my hands on a 10" Joying MTCB unit running 4.4.4 I'd swap mine out immediately.
the mtcd is immature, and slow. I have a 10.3 inch mtcb in my wife's car it works great. I used to have a 6.2 gs in mine. I have a joying 10.1 mtcd in mine now, it works like crap. It is slow, google maps barely opens, gps is for crap if it works at all. If I could put a 4.4.4 board in there I would. Sometimes older is better. Sometime it takes several seconds to even turn up the volume. It is crap.
Sorry if my questions sound stupid or have been asked elsewhere in this forum.
Is it possible to use a custom kernel with the ROM for the MTCB unit?
I am asking because even with having low hardware specs built into the head unit, a talented dev could pimp out the kernel to allow the device run much faster..
Edit: somebody knows whether the RK3066 chipset has similar characteristics with the one of RK3188? Maybe in that case the kernel from RK3066 can be ported to work with a MTCB unit.
Edit2: According to this comparison it doesn't look too bad: http://system-on-a-chip.specout.com/compare/309-310/Rockchip-RK3066-vs-Rockchip-RK3188
P.s.: However, i am not sure about the drivers that are needed to compile the kernel for the head unit. I guess that there is a bunch of proprietary hardware related stuffs that have to be considered.

They have never released any kernel source for MTCB or MTCD as far as I know. So I don't think there is any possibility for a custom kernel. They clearly violate the GPL but they don't care.

At least the kernel source for jelly bean for the RK3066 is available here: http://www.rockchipfirmware.com/sites/default/files/GPL_Edison.tar.gz

Ever tried to make a custom kernel for a Galaxy S5 with just the Qualcomm sources? No chance. You always need the kernel tree from the manufacturer which includes all the bells and whistles to get their crap running.
Somebody already bought the new Xtrons 8 core android 6.0 model?
What is your experience with this model and Xtrons in general?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...x3-vs-px5-initial-impressions-issues-t3549946
Thanks for the link. Unfortunately worse than Ownice C500.
To bad because the front of the Xtrons seems "flush" with the metal housing, the front of the Ownice is sticking out
had it about a day

I got it off ebay, it was advertised to include a backup camera which it didn't include.
I don't like the lack of a physical volume control. Hoping I can find a steering wheel remote via bluetooth that mitigates that. Also no physical home button makes getting home a pain in the butt. I would like the option to remap power to home.
Data limiting options are not present, so the HU doesn't know that it's wifi is or is not metered. It would help given data is expensive in the US and I don't want it syncing spotify over my cell modem.
That's it so far.
Install is easy
Unit is clean.
It works as advertised.
Screen isn't great, but I don't think it is any worse than what's out there.

In my experience, avoid Xtrons.
You'll never get any proper support or updates from them.

Any time I've contacted them it's been a max 6hour wait time, they even sent me a new mcu & software update for my PX5 unit now. As well as for my older PX3 that I had.

That was my experience too. I had a wince unit that I needed the ROM for and after multiple emails with no resolution, I contacted the manufacturer of the unit directly who provided the correct file.

I have been wondering the same, and after searching for hours on this forum, I'm surprised. Is putting Nougat on the Px5 not possible? That seems like a weird limitation. I'm trying to decide what unit to buy, and I can't believe that the choice is between older hardware and newer os, versus newer hardware and older os.
The ability to upgrade is mainly limited by hardware drivers for certain kernel versions.
There are some rumors about Android 8 for PX5. Stay tuned.

Yes, I thought this was weird too. While PX5 board is faster it seems all the OS development is going to PX3. We already now have 7.1.2.
I've also noticed that lots of PX3 boards are now coming with 2GB of RAM as standard. One thinks maybe it was just a RAM issue and manufacturers don't want to make a more expensive board when all they really need to do is an an extra 1GB RAM to existing PX3s.

Hi, I think that You can with no problem install this version here:
https: //yadi.sk /d/umCvHqCDzHccr/ RockChip %20PX5 %20%20 Android% 209/MX/ HCT4_PX5_9.0_OTA%20 (12.06.2019) (without spaces)
It is for MX radios, but installing it onto a GS radio shouldn't cause you any problem at all.
I have a GS radio which was mounting android 8, installed this version and everything goes smoothly.
This update apparently fixed fm radio autosearch problem definitively. I even updated the MCU firmware to GS 3.10.
I can't grant You that Your radio, having a bigger screen than mine, could work, however. Try to make a backup before doing anything
Hello,
Has anyone updated MCU MTCE_GS_3.17
I'm on 3.10 and was wondering what are the fixes or updates in it
Anyone test GS rom - 2019.06.28 from link above ??

I have a ISUDAR 8" inch and this version work like a charm.
Do NOT Update MCU on your Xtrons units to the latest MTCE GS v 3.17 just yet. It totally messes up the SPLIT SCREEN function for the APPS which worked just fine w previous GS v.3.10 update!!! (CONFIRMED)

You might be confused with Android ROM vs MCU, the MCU update won't affect Android Split screen.

Hi, thanks for the response.
But I also think you are mistaken or misinformed, the MCU is the micro-controller in the unit and can't affect the split screen function that is a part included in the Rom software.
Anyways I'm not going to update yet, or at least not until there is someone that can throw some light on any improvements that could be in the latest MCU version.
As for the rom i'm on stock android 9.0 and I only have a minor bug with the radio app and the LTE usb modem crashing from time to time, so i'm waiting for Malaysk to release his latest rom for 9.0 and then i'll try and see if the bugs are already resolved in that rom.

You're a little bit special aren't you? You're comparing Apples to Breeze Blocks.

Which of those particular features is most useful for your in-car experience?
Wellness perhaps? Or maybe the battery management eh?
App slices at a push might be useful. Recent apps as well.
Realistically though, you're just impressed by the big number aren't you? :good:

Android version has nothing to do with it. All FYT 7862 units are Android 10 even though they might say 11 or 12 (already so much said about that in this forum).
If you saw it on YouTube and it is for a Mekede 100-700, just try it.
