Question NaviFly 7862 - Kia Rio 2013 - No Steering wheel control - FYT Android Head Units

Hello!
Hopefully someone can help me here.
I installed the NaviFly 7862 in my Rio 2013, and all works fine EXCEPT the steering wheel control.
As far as I know, I dont have a CAN decoder in my car. But whatever I try I cant get the steering wheel controls to work.
I might just be stupid as hell and missed something though.

Sorry my mistake.

It doesn't look like your car uses canbus for swc, and doesn't have canbus wires in the radio harness.
What does the navifly harness have connected to key1?
Kia Rio (2011-2017) MP3/CD Head Unit pinout diagram @ pinoutguide.com
Looks like it should be B4. Then you can map the buttons in the app.
B4Steering Wheel Remote ControlSteering Wheel switch pushed0.5V ~ 3V
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002291499893.html
Assuming that's what you've bought, I wish they had a more detailed picture of the harness.
If B4 is unpopulated, maybe there's a stray/improper connection instead that you can borrow the lead from?
And from the listing:
main harness pinout showing location of key1 if your harness is unlabeled

Thanks for the reply, it is indeed this unit. Just different front.
I've made better pictures of the harness;
That would mean that KEY1 (Black) is connected to Ground.
Ground is spliced to b5. Which, according to the pinout is empty.

ok.. what's your b4 connected to? It looks like b4 is the brown wire, and you've got a black wire for b17 (swc ground).
looks like the navifly listing picture is very incorrect as far as main harness pinout. See this post instead: https://4pda.to/forum/index.php?showtopic=1000996&st=100#entry100193155
Even just comparing the color coding, it looks like navifly screwed up and reversed #7-ant cont and #8-key1.
If so, use a paper clip, thumbtack, pushpin, whatever to release the pin and swap them around. Might as well inspect the rest of the pinning..
Following that blue wire to the car end, it lines up properly with A18 remote power supply for antenna..
Hopefully no damage was done as a result

It indeed looks as of the blue and brown wire are swapped.

I also found the reason why I couldnt figure it out.
This is the image they provided for the pins;
They casually switched KEY1 and KEY2 with Battery GND and Battery 12v...
Gonna try and switch out the two cables later (Ant and Key1)

Thanks a lot, only your diagram is different than the other one. Now im even more in doubt xD Now the problem is that B4 in my car is unpopulated.. So I have no clue as how to connect my steering wheel controls now.
So I'm going to try that later. Hopefully it works.
EDIT: I think I found it. Navifly, and almost all online sources, have the diagram for mp3/radio. My old head unit was a nav screen and has the steering wheel controls at b5 in stead of 4.

I fixed it by moving B4 on the car side to B5. Steering wheel works properly now.
Thanks a lot for the help!

Glad to have been of help! Just curious; Is your audio balance correct? My phonecall audio comes from the back of the car. I'm guessing those cables are wrong on the head heading as well. But it's around freezing here, and to cold to sit on my car without heater hehe

HTC multi adapter wiring colors

I searched this site and PPC geeks for the answer and i was wondering if anyone knew what the wiring colors were. My other car adapter that i use broke so i am going to make another with this adapter instead of the multi adapter that has usb and the headset jack. However i want to be able to still add the mic in myself this will be wired directly into an aux in on my pioneer headunit. The other adapter has a loose jack and will only charge and won't put out audio with the multi adapter pluged in. It does play audio fine if the headset is plugged into the phone directly.
Here is my goal. wire it up to this adapter splitting the audio cables and running them into the aux in. Dismantle the stock headset wire only the mic portion up extend the wires and run it up by my drivers side visor. only problem is i don't have a way of testing what the speakers are vs the mic wires and or whats needed to be crossed for it to be detected as a headset. With just the adapter in the phone no headset hooked to the 2.5mm side audio and mic functions still come out of the internal speaker or speaker phone for music.
If i find a solution i think it could be made into a diy sticky for those who want custom hands free without all the fuss of expensive adapters as all thats required is some wire and minor tools minimal soldering and some heat shrink.
This adapter came with my sprint mogul.

I got it all wired up and installed in my car the way I wanted to. It took some trial and error but this wire diagram from XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=31649&d=1164664052 is correct, however on the mogul's adapter that comes with the phone the yellow wire is not hooked to anything on ether end its just in there it was not attached to the mini 2.5mm jack and it pulled straight out of the phone 11 pin end no loose wires or solder on ether end of the yellow wire just a clean cut.
Here is what i used to make it work.
White - Mic +
Yellow - was not hooked up to anything
Red - Ground L/R
Blue - Headset sense hooks into the red to turn headset mode on.
Green - Speaker +
Black - Speaker +
Ground/Shielding silver loose no coating - I hooked to the signal wire from the mic.
Mic Ground - red and blue wires.
As the stock headset has 3 wires for the mic. +,-,and S their colors are White - mic +
Copper - mic -
Blue - S
The push to answer button does not work on the headset mic but the mic does work. I think it has to so with the fact that i didn't hook up the other wires to the board going to the adapter. I ran out of wires and didn't have a long enough cable that had all the needed wires so i clipped all but the 3 i needed off the circuit board for the mic and ran a new longer 3 wire cable from the board to the adapter.
I have to get ready for a Christmas party in dc thats 2 hours away. I will post finished pictures and maybe a youtube video if the finished install once I get back to town.
Sound comes out clear thru my speakers and I was able to hold a conversation with the mic as a hands free in the car. The mic is mouned at the top of the drivers side a pillar and the wire runs down in behind that into the dash and comes out right by the phone mount.
Now I can leave my car charger hooked to the adapter and the headphone output is wired into the car stero so one connection to the phone and i have mic + audio out. Cost was just some of my free time and parts/wires i already had laying around. I did take extra time to be neat and soldered all the connections properly. This is as close to an aftermarket oem integrated system that i wanted.
Thanks to all that helped I will post the results later, for those interested.

[Q] Play the infuse through Car stereo?

So, I have this cig lighter fm transmitter that takes both USB sticks, or 2.5mm input.
this question is for my GF, she enjoys listening to books on tape and I would like to set this thing up for her to use, problem, the infuse has a 3.5mm plug. If i use the phone as a mass storage, it would play songs via the Play buttons and what not, but these are 1.5 hour long tracks sometimes and it does not auto save where you last were. any ideas? The ideal situation would be to use the USB to charge the phone while using some kind of 3.5mm Male to 2.5mm male plug into the infuse phone and have her use her phone to pause, save and play the files. Any ideas?
This is a newer version of what I have, but alot of the same functionality, i can put a usb drive in and play skip and all that fun stuff.

maybe you want this? http://www.google.com/products/cata...1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=14042111030896786112# i dont think they make cables with 3.5 on one end, 2.5 on the other but just get the addapter for one end
edit: think i found what you want " Sennheiser 2.5mm Male to 3.5mm Male Audio Cable " (keep in mind all i did to find such a mythical product was a simple google search which i do believe can be done by anybody capable of posting on a fourm) link - http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/665652-REG/Sennheiser_531406_2_5mm_Male_to_3_5mm.html
I have one of these nifty little adapters as I had an old phone with a 2.5 mm plugin. They work VERY well and are relatively short when attached to a longer cable. I'd recommend it if you decide it'll solve your issue.

Thank you very much for the input and usable links. Not to risk coming off as unappreciative, I should clarify, my question wasn't so much where can I get this equipment I knew the 3.5 - 2.5 existed. It was more along the lines of what is the setup you'd recommend. I suggested in my mind a good or decent setup but was hoping to get ideas if people know of a better way (i.e. some cool feature of the phone im not aware of that lets yo unplug the usb into your phone and then control the radio or transmitter via the phone display).
Are you SURE that thing has a 2.5mm input?
2.5mm stereo inputs are INCREDIBLY rare. As in this would be the first time I've ever seen such a thing.
2.5mm stereo outputs are a lot more common thanks to phones and the fact that it's the standard size for wired headsets.

all i know is that the Line out on the phone is 3.5 and I had a 3.5 to 3.5 Male - Male plug that was to large. I may be incorrect but im using process of elimination with a limited scope of knowledge, I dont know of any other plug besides the 2.5 and the 3.5 as far as the headphone style plugs go.
use bluetooth to transmit is a lot easier and clean.

Bingo!! I use my Infuse through my Sony Xplod MTX-3000(?) and it ROCKS! handsfree kicks in when calls come in pausing music/audio of any kind...then resumes when call is disconnected. Another great App I bought for this is PowerAMP....it's got a setting to auto-resume playback when in range so when I start car (phone in pocket) the music starts playing where it left off the previous day (or whenever I was in the car last) I LOVE that feature...don't need to turn on the app or anything, it just "knows"
+1 to Bluetooth suggestion!
^^
your nick reminds me of Urban Dance Squad for some reason lol
Thanks for the responses, I think adding Bluetooth to the stereo or getting a whole new stereo might not be a suitable suggestion at this point (unless its not faux pas to get her an anniversary/birthday present at the same time when they are 2 months apart ).
New car also works.
For sure! A new car is the obvious choice.

So, an update!!
I am getting her a SD/USB/Aux Input (3.5mm) car stereo for our anniversary. I have been reading some forums that talk of plugging the phone into the stereo Via USB, then "Mounting the SD" and playing the files that way after doing some sort of debug mode.
Anyone ever tried this? apparently the stereo would read music off the SD loaded in the phone, or some said that you can control it Via the phone controls.
No BT unfortunately
Here is the thread i am referencing, it is another forum sorry if this is against the rules.
http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-tips-tricks/92867-there-way-play-music-through-usb-2.html
if you already have a 3.5 AUX why are you trying to mount the SD card. all you have to do is just play it through your music player.

Most steering wheel controls dont work with after-market headunits.
edit: however if they do still work, they wont with a 3.5mm aux input.

You need to get out more or get a new installer place. Most DO with a simple PAC controller (http://www.pac-audio.com/SWI/)
meh, i have a bluetooth... and it wont stream... but it does with my HD2... whatever.
id like to minimize the wires if possible.. just run the audio to the radio + get a charge from it. Plus I hear you tend to get better sound from USB rather than the 3.5.

Stering wheel and canbus informations

Hello i have 2 questions
1. Is possible to display on device informations from canbus? In my device I have canbus decoder like a:
https://cdn-images.xda-developers.c.../3/Canbus_Decoder_that_came_with_the_Unit.jpg
2. Is possible to use stering wheel in other apps than stock?
im interested in this as well. i have a 2016 mustang with MTCD_JY_V1.49_2 (Joying5.1) and want to do what you are asking. Got it from the US seller from Joying.

This depend of your canbus decoder, in head unit factory settings / canbus, you can chose the type of canbus decoder, (this depend of your car model) some even let you control A/C and some setting of the car from the head unit, so the head unit it's capable but depend on the canbus decoder. For example for my VW head unit I can see Speed, RPM, Odometer, outside temp, fuel, battery volt, etc. but I can't control anything.

It's rare that doors info don't work science all other information show correctly maybe a faulty canbus decoder. I upload a picture of my decoder.
For the apk modifications I decompile the apk and mode in android studio. For canbus apk and for Vehicle info apk I made changes direct on the unit with apk editor (you can download from play store).

Can someone please send me the vehicle info apk?

No DAB+ Signal

heyho,
i've bougth a official supported dab+ usb staff antenna for my radio.
after starting the stock dab+ app it says: connecting... now im plugging in the usb antenna it the app is ready (so far it seems the antenna is working).
but now, on the top left there is a signal bar with no green bars.
i've already tried some postions in my car (see photo ) and some other locations which are marked online as very good dab+ area but still no f*** signal.
i've already contacted the erisin support, they want me to send the unit back from china to europa (i have to pay for shipping, hahah...) and they will check the device... realy!?...

Youre sure it's a dab+ antenna ? For me it looks like a dvb-t external antenna.

Same Problem here.
I have the second unit and still the same problem.
I installed the Antenna as discribed in the manual, but it doesn't work.
Erisin said they tested all products bevor shipping, it must be an installation error from my side...
Hi all,
I have the same DAB+ box. It is not only an antenna. For me it looks like a complete receiver box for DAB+. It has to be installed before starting the app. Maybe before booting the head unit. I'm not 100% sure. But not afterwards.
BTW: I'm not happy with this tool. Fo me it doesn't make any sense to have a receiver box with a fixed connected antenna with a magnetic socket. How will you install this in a car? A connection for a separate car antenna would be much more better.
Kind regards

i already installed the antenna fix into my car. still no signal etc.
I have the same problem on two units.
- Erisin ES4046B with RK3188 and Android 5.1.1
- Erisin ES6046B with PX5 and Android 6.0.1
The application works, so the DAB + key is recognized but does not pick up the signal.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Thank you.
im currently out of this issue.. i have sold my antenna..
i will order a 3rd party antenna with android driver.
I will post my feedback later this month

i've already tried some postions in my car (see photo ) and some other locations which are marked online as very good dab+ area but still no f*** signal.

Question Ford C-Max Android Unit - My Feedback and help request

Hi everyone,
so i've bought a new android unit for my car. I have been checking the other posts in this forum but they are kind of "pro level" so i felt the need to clarify some doubts. I know you guys are experts, if you can help be i would be thankful. I'll also provide some feedback that maybe can help people who are considering buying it.
The unit i've bought is this one:

I have a Ford Grand C-Max manufactured 11/2015 (the restyled one), and i thought this radio would be a good fit (i've had other android units in my past cars). I bought the 6G+128GB version (TS6 version), with Android 11. The brand is "Navifly", however i guess this is just another brand variation.
1) Feedback
Positive- Fast and fluid Android experience - no lag to complain about.
- Sound Quality - a great improvement over the Ford Sync 2 original radio - better definition, better bass, supports higher volumes without distortion
- Radio has RDS - it actually shows the station name (we don't have DAB in Portugal, it is still FM) and the tuning quality is good
- GPS is ok. Not awesome, but usable. Supposedly, it also gets some Glonass satellites, but as you know Glonass constellation is sparser, so it usually only gets GPS triangulation. I use Waze, sometimes it takes a bit to understand where it is.
Negative- Quality of design and build of the plastic fairings: the plastic fairings are much lower quality relatively to the Ford ones. They don't precisely fit the car dashboard, by a couple of milimiters. I have it provisionally installed, but i'll have to shave some plastic when i get it definitely installed. Additionaly, the chines fairings don't have the metal clips/retainers that the original plastics have to get it securely in place. I've has to order some to get this sorted out...
- The CANBUS communication:
-> i am not getting any steering wheel communication at all (no volume control, no call pick up. This is the worst part for me
-> the information of the parking sensors is erratic. My car has 6 sensors at the front and 6 at the back (360º coverage) and there is quite an error on the info shown in this android unit, so i am not not trusting it a lot. Besides that, it is slow to react (couple of seconds), and the car should be drawn vertically (you brain needs to rotate the view 90º to get it right).
-> No Park Assist (automated parking) information is shown at the unit, so the Park assist is not currently working
-> I can get reversal signal, climate info (when i change it), and open door information.
- The screen. For its size, its low resolution, not bright enough, and it is very reflective. Not very happy with it.
2) Help RequestI need help to sort the CANBUS limitations. This is the canbus box they sent me:
I guess this box is not the most adequate for my C-Max. I can't read chinese characters so i really don't know what it says at all. I've tried to get into the canbus box definitions in the settings menu and have tried selecting other canbus choices with no avail: i couldn't get steering wheel info at all. So i've went a bit overkill and ordered two canbus boxes to see if a different canbus box solve my issues. I've ordered these two:
- Another Hiworld box (i guess this is a newer version than the one i have, so i hope they have sorted out the issues) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002718903038.html?spm=a2g0o.9042311.0.0.27424c4dac8EZc
- An XP one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002327630203.html?spm=a2g0o.9042311.0.0.27424c4dac8EZc
So i now have three questions for you guys:
1) Is this a FYT unit? Or a Mekede?
2) Will any of the new boxes sort out my canbus miscommunication?
3) Is there any place where i can get a firmware update? Or canbus firmware update? This is what the Android System settings show about my unit:
Thank you guys in advance for your help!!
I have tried other two canbus boxes from Hiworld and XP, with no avail. Still no steering wheel controls. Any suggestions?

Hi,
1) Mekede = FYT, not every FYT is a Mekede. But your unit is a Topways built unit sold by reseller TopNavi, so neither a Mekede nor a FYT nor a NaviFly. You are in the wrong sub-forum. Please ask in the general Android Head Units subforum
2) Ask your reseller TopNavi.
3) Please ask your TopNavi reseller or in the general Android Head Units subforum. There your will find the TSx series with firmwares and other information.
And by the way: It is a fake Android 11. It is still Android 10 (Api/SDK 29) as displayed on the web page. One can write a script that will set the "Android level" to any version you like: Android 10, 11, 31, 451, 10961, 4, ..
But it is a nice looking unit compared with the standard Ford units.
EDIT: This seems to be a FYT after all. Sorry for the confusion.
In my signature you find on the 3rd line the "HWGetInfo.apk". Please run it and share the created zip file.
