3) install "Wear installer" on my phone and connect to the watch, from here traspassing and install the google app on the watch
4) the app not show in the launcher, but i can change the predefined assistent app to Google!!! I show you in the pictures added
I have no idea how to make this work, but is promissing!! Maybe somebody read this and can make it, or maybe this almost compatibility mean that the official app is coming in the near futue!

Looks promising, I bet adfree or Dante might like this...

Hopefully soon

MOD EDIT: Quote removed since post removed.
That's been talked about before and it's super sketchy. You have to install some random guys app store, give his app tons of permissions, pay him then you get a limited version of Google assistant.
His telegram group have banned people for asking about the security concerns of his apps permissions. Super sketchy

If you install google go apk or other assistant also shows on this menu, but for now seems that only bixby is mapped to home button longpress

Google Assistant on Galaxy Watch 4 classic. Working for me. I follow theses steps
And Download this apk here : https://t.me/newsgw/2028
Google Assistant Go Galaxy Watch 4.apk
6.5 MB
and in your watch 4 go to settings, Apps, Choose default Apps, Digital Assistant App, Choose Google assistant Go and scroll down to OK button. You are done.
I use Bugjaeger 3.0 on my phone to Sideload my Apk's " follow the steps on youtube to sideload apk's from your mobile to your smartwatch.
Bugjaeger 3.0

Thanks, assistant works well. Ui is not perfect but no problem using it.

Interesting. The video in Spanish isn't terribly helpful, though. I am sure there are others out there. Seems like there would be a simpler way to sideload to the watch, but maybe not. Are you nervous about running some random APK? Good find on the "default app" > assistant. Didn't even notice that until now. How are your "activating" the assistant when you want to use it? Do you have to launch the app each time? Or did you bind it to a button or action on your watch face or something?

Is there also a non-telegram download link somewhere?

It's a gimped version of the assistant....can't play music on Spotify or youtube music, can't use find directions or navigate to commands....when not connected to the phone on bluetooth it struggles to process queries. And most frustrating of all.....screen powers down terminating the request mid way....and setting as default assistant makes no difference, long press still opens up ****sby. Need to remap double tap home to launch app....which takes a while to fire up
Can't wait for Google to release it officially....

Cool/thanks.
Is there an easy way to sideload? What method do you use? Also, is Chrome required for the Assistant, or did you just include that as a bonus?

krogoth, thanks again. I finally went ahead and tried it. Sent the two APK's to my phone with Airdroid. Put watch in developer mode, figured out how to turn on ADB and force wifi on (I had to disconnect bluetooth). Loaded Bugjeager on my phone. Went into developer options on watch to find IP address, connected to it in Bugjeager, finally figured out how to upload an app Bingo- it is on the watch! Binded it to top button double press, turned off ADB, turned off Wifi and BT back on....
It actually works (at least for now). Obviously not designed for round screens. Even has a dialog on the bottom I can't dismiss, since I can't see it. But it can answer questions (what is the time? What is the square root of 13? What is my battery level? etc). When I ask to SEE something like "show me a picture of a cat", nothing appears. I installed Chrome too, to see if it would launch that to show it... it doesn't. I don't think it can show anything due to the lack of space on the screen and no way to navigate (that I can figure out, anyway). Also times out too quickly sometimes.
Anyway, I will play with it some. It might have a lot of issues, but it is a hell of a lot more functional than NOTHING!

Side load apps with iPhone

Hmm can't find the answer. I have an iPhone and a Gear S3. Both works like a charm, but the store in the gear manager for ios is a bit empty. There are some apps but not as much as with android. Before i used a Android Wear watch, with had no apps at all in the app for ios, but had the option to side load it with a pc or mac. Is this possible for the Gear S3? And even more important, where can i download the apps to my pc? With Android Wear there was an option to extract it from the .apk, what was downloadable from web based Play Stores. Can anyone help me?
I know how to enable debugging and how to transfer files to the Gear S3, but the main issue is that i need an other method to get apps other than with the ios app.
I have been using the Gear S3 with my iPhone since I bought it. I must say it works great, albeit with a few small caveats.
For the past month, Samsung has been making constant changes to the Gear app for iPhone. Every time I open the app and tap to go to the Galaxy app store, I notice updates to it (the Galaxy app store is web based for the iPhone Gear app, so any updates they make to the Galaxy app store for iPhone do not require the Gear app to be updated). Until this week, I have noticed that we have had no access to the paid apps section, which might explain what you are saying about fewer apps being available. However, as of this morning, I can now access the paid apps. So I think Samsung is working hard towards an official release of the Gear app for iOS.
As far as sideloading apps, this is not possible from the iPhone. I develop watch faces, and I know they can be installed directly onto my watch from my Mac over Wi-Fi.
I think it MIGHT be possible to sideload an app if you have the developer SDK on your computer, but I'm not sure about that. You could give that a try.
As a side note, the biggest caveats I have noticed to using the Gear S3 with iPhone are as follows:
1. No access to paid apps and watch faces (no longer an issue as of today)
2. The option to "Send Content to Gear" is not available on the iPhone Gear app. You can send an image, but nothing else. The only thing I care to send to the watch is music, and I have a workaround that I am happy with for now. I have an old Galaxy S4 laying around, so I sent the music I wanted to the watch from there. Then I reset the watch and reconnect to my iPhone (yes it erases the watch data, but it keeps the files I transferred over).
3. After I go for a run and open SHealth, the fitness data is available to view as normal, but I cannot view the map routing as you can on Android, if I want to go back and look where I ran on a map. But the distance, pace, etc is all there. Again, my workaround is my S4 because the iPhone Gear app DOES sync to SHealth and you can open and view all your SHealth from an android device.
That's more than you asked, but there you go.

Hi mate,
These were also my concern to using the Gear S3 with iPhone: not paid apps and no possibility to send files to the watch with the Gear iphone app.
The paid apps are still not available for me: is it linked to the country ? How did you make it work ?

Hi - happy new year!
I also can't see any paid apps (UK) on S3 Gear manager (iPhone 6).
Also, does anyone know how to get around the very very slow* Bluetooth install process from the Gear Manager App. I can install directly from wifi using the watch, but that give you limited access to the apps that it displays on you watch screen.
* E.g., Takes 10 minutes to install a 1000kb watch face or 30 min to install an app.
Thanks

Are you sure you could access paid Apps, I logged in to Samsung with a USA account but couldn't find any of the paid apps, even some of the free apps are also not available.
I had access for one day, but I no longer can access the paid apps. I wish I had taken a screenshot, or better, I wish I had bought the apps I was after. The black icon that typically says "install" for free apps had the price, eg $1.99, for the paid apps. I really think Samsung is working on this becoming available, otherwise I don't know why I was able to browse the paid apps.
Today I could see and load on my iPhone in GalaxyAPPs my earlier purchased APPs and WFs. To buy new APPs but not yet.
Something happens in Samsung Store!
And:
To transfer music you can take the "Gear Music Manager" and your Mac/PC - it is described in the iOS-beta ... (see my pictures)

In app store there is the official GearManager for iOS - the old beta. UNFORTUNATELY the app has the same error that the last beta had (I have reported 3 weeks ago to the developers): when you call in S Health a training with recorded route the app hangs/crashes.
The same thing happens with other users or only with my iPhone SE?

Run google pay on Wear OS watch with Huawei Mate XS

I've finally found a way to have google pay running while having my Mate XS. I decided to buy a Wear OS smartwatch which comes with google pay hoping that thing would be easy enough to setup but because the GAPPS have been sideloaded, the phone refuses to connect my google accounts to the watch. If you follow my steps below, you'll be able to use your smartwatch smoothly with your Mate XS or any Huawei smartphones for that matter.

PREREQUESITE:
1. Another smartphone which runs google apps from factory and supports google pay (tap&pay)
2. A computer that can run ADB (ADB on computer required to send commands to the watch)
3. Huawei phone (Mate XS in my case)
4. GAPPS installed and running on Huawei phone
Step 1:
Download Google Pay and Wear OS on both the Huawei phone and the other phone but don't open them.
Step 2:
Connect your google account(s) to the other phone, setup and pair your smartwatch to that phone and don't forget to copy your google accounts to the watch.
Step 3:
Setup your bank card(s) on Google Pay if not done already.
Step 4:
When the watch is connected to the other phone, turn off bluetooth of that phone.
Step 5:
Connect your watch to the computer and run ADB (Depending your watch brand, it can be done wired or wireless guide here)
Step 6:
Follow the guide from step 5 and when your watch is connected with the Huawei Mate XS, open google pay (ON THE WATCH)
Step 7:
The watch will prompt you to finish the bank card(s) setup on your phone, just follow the prompts and repeat the step on your watch should you want to add more cards.
Done!! Now you have your Google account(s) setup on the watch as well as google pay
I needed to do that if the GMS is installed on mate xs it's easier
I followed the steps but as the Google Pay on the watch starts to connect to the Google Pay on the Mate XS to add a card, the Google Pay on the Mate XS just shuts down, leaving the watch trying to add the card for good.

It is not too old at all. It works the Google Pay normally with other very old phones. The watch does not close. What disappears is the Google Pay app on the Huawei Mate XS. It flashes out as the watch tries to add a credit card but it is still there as an opened app in the recent apps view. I can open it separately as an app but that doesn't do anything. I tried reinstalling Google Pay on the phone but getting the same result.
I got a new Fossil Gen 5 instead of the Huawei Watch 2. I followed the steps and ended up with the same result. Google Pay on the watch initiates the process of adding cards but on the phone Google Pay just opens then flashes out to the background for ever. Any ideas?

Google Search App keeps updating itself, any way to prevent this?

Hey guys,
I just discovered that the Google Search App (incl Assistant) keeps auto updating on all my devices, although Play Store is set to "manual".
This shouldn't happen at all, find this rather shady.
Has anyone any clue how to block this behavior? I'm rooted, just in case you might ask.
Thanks!
You might be able to at least block it from connecting to the web using netguard.
@shaftenberg

Well, as stated in OP, automatic update is disabled in Play Store.
That's why I'm so annoyed because Google App (velvet.apk) doesn't respect the setting.
@SmawtPho20 I don't want to block the Play Store completely, that's not a workaround by itself
Has someone successfully signed velvet.apk so that it won't be recognized by Play Store but still working?

I just have tried to sign velvet.apk with another key and installed it as system app, but it crashes then. This isn't a solution.
Magisk debloater module to debloat it.
Karma Firewall, uses almost no battery, freeware.
Or...
If you don't use wifi, set to update by wifi only

Well, I do not want to remove the Google App - I just do NOT want it to auto-update it by itself. I mean, come on, the user setting is "do not update" and Google App and Youtube keep updating nevertheless. Gladly I use Youtube Vanced, so because of the other signature, auto update doesn't work.
But Google App force closes when signing with another key.
I'm using the voice search feature alot, this is the only purpose for the app in my case. So I need velvet.apk / Google App.
OR: Has anyone an idea where to get voice search only? This is baked in unfortunately as far as I know.
Voice search? Bixby's big sister

Your post is not useful at all, please stop trolling if you don't have any helpful things to say.
Stumbled upon many messages of you in the past few hours regarding Play Services and Battery drain and it seems, you simply hate Google but your "advices" do not help as they are out of logic in the corresponding threads.
@pl1992aw Google Go does not provide a system wide voice messaging unfortunately, but thanks for the hint!

Hey guys,
I just discovered that the Google Search App (incl Assistant) keeps auto updating on all my devices, although Play Store is set to "manual".
This shouldn't happen at all, find this rather shady.
Has anyone any clue how to block this behavior? I'm rooted, just in case you might ask.
Thanks!

Simply my opinion. You called it "shady" yourself.

I'm struggling with the same issue. The voice-to-text was wrecked by the last update. Uninstall update and everything is good again. I have also disabled auto update on the Play Store and it keeps updating. All I can figure is that there is an update file saved on the phone that it is accessing. Does anyone know if it is possible to find/ delete the update file? FWIW, I am not rooted on this device (S20).

Try clearing the system cache.
Hard reboot.
SDMaid might be able to find/delete the corpse file on a non-root phone. I use the old Samsung 360° powered Device Care* to clear system logs which works well.
*firewall blocked due to potential CCP spyware

Well, I cleared system cache and the app cache and it came back again this am.
Do you happen to know what directory the update file may be saved in and any clues on file name to look for?
Someone on another site recommended disabling Play Store and switching to a different apk app, which sounded promising. My main concern though is that I had already disabled "auto update" on the PS for the Google app and it keeps doing it- so either the file is already on my phone and the app is updating from there, or PS could be ignoring my selection...

I keep Playwhore package disabled unless I need it. It will constantly run in the background, at start up etc. I don't use wifi, my wifi is always disabled so I set it to auto update by wifi only.
Nothing updates on my 10+ unless I authorize it to. Updates are way overrated and many times not in your best interests.
You can try locking it down with Karma Firewall. On Pie and below it's valuable logging feature is full functional. Thank Google for the limited app resources change starting with Q.
Karma uses almost no battery. A great app.

Finally there is someone with the same problem Not that I like it, but now I don't feel that stupid anymore.
It seems, that Google pushes updates to Google App and Youtube regardless of the user settings in Play Store. But Youtube can't be updated automatically, because I'm using Youtube Vanced and the auto-update fails (haha).
So I suspected that a velvet.apk signed with another key would help, but this crashes immediately at start.
I haven't found a solution yet other than disabling Play Store, but this isn't a workaround for me. If you enable PS again, it will silently update Google App anyway in that short time frame.
I don't even know if Play Store is the culprit or the Google Play Services. If I had to guess, I'd tend more to the Play Services, but I really don't know.
What do you mean with "update file"? The apk to be installed will be downloaded either in a temp directory which isn't accessible without root, or it will be stored in the cache partition which you can safely clear in your recovery (Vol Up & Power). But I assume, deleting the apk wouldn't solve the problem as it has been installed already then.
Goggle Assistant and/or Quick Search maybe the culprit(s). I have both disabled along with Google Backup Transport and Framework.
I'm running on Pie as well as the factory load for most of the Google apps including Gmail and maps. I don't have this issue.
It may have something to do with Google account settings; there are many spread out in a big mess. Go through them all. I disabled most of them including Firebase and casting.
Gookill sucks.
Well, I am several days now without the app updating. Seems the solution was to disable the Google Play Services (not Play Store) app. Not sure if it is temporary or permanent of if it will cause long-term issues, but for now I have the voice-to-text interface that actually works good.

I'm just curious to see if this held or not. I've been dealing with the same thing with my SwiftKey keyboard. The Google app completely ruins speech to text on it. And the more you roll it back, the more frequently it wants to update. I've been fighting it for months and so far the only thing that I found are suggestions that require me to root which I kind of grew out of several years ago.
It is working. I had it backwards in my previous post though. You need to disable Play Store (not Play Services). Disabling Services kills a majority of apps.
I use Swiftkey also, but I don't think it has anything to do with Swiftkey. Swiftkey just uses the Google voice-to-text.
Once Play Store is disabled you have to go the the Google app and uninstall updates. The only negative I have experienced is that you have to enable PS again when you need to download a new app from the store (expected) which will mean uninstalling updates again.

Disable Call Recording Announcement on Google dialer devices without PC/Root

Hope you all are well. At present, users of new mobile phones with Android operating system are suffering from a common problem. And that is the problem with Google Dialer's call recording announcement. When we turn on call recording the user on the other end of the call knows that we are recording his call. Google has introduced this call recording announcement system, primarily focusing on the privacy of mobile phone users. And that's what caused us a problem. Because Google did not put any system in their dialer to turn off this announcement system. Today we will share how to disable Google Dialer's call recording announcement system without PC/Root. So let's get started-
Follow the process:
First you need to install this TTSLexx app from Play Store on your phone.
Click to collapse
After that go to Settings- Additional settings- Languages & input- Text-to-speech output- Preferred engine. And select TTSLexx instead of Speech Services by Google. After selecting TTSLexx a warning notice will appear, now click on OK button to confirm.
Click to collapse
Now go to home screen & long-press the Phone / Dialer app. You will see some options, click on App info from here. Then clear all data by clicking on Clear data of Phone app. And clear all running services from the recent menu.
Click to collapse
Now if you call someone this announcement will start before the call connects to the other end or this announcement will start before you receive someone's call. That's why the announcement of this call recording will not hear the users on the other end of the call. Now you can safely record calls on your Google Dialer mobiles.
Thanks a lot
Thanks for the post... i was looking for this
Did it really stop showing the message, but does it really work? Because I'm not finding the recording files. All permissions have already been given to the dialer.
Another thing: could disabling (on PC) the Google Speech app give the same result? I can't test it right now.
Can it record whatsapp calls?
is it sure for credit cards numbers ? if one don't pronunce the numbers i mean....or the app can collect data in other way?
Is this app from the point data safety & security?
Hello, thank you mdjihad1993 but like other users I would like to know if the TTSLexx App is safe and does not steal passwords or other codes. I would also like to know if replacing the Google voice engine then the Google maps services, voice assistant ........ will still work or will be silent.

This app does not contribute in supressing the announcement. It is just a bug from the dialer. This app suppressing the announcement is just a lucky coincidence. It has been fixed in the google dialer so, now, even if you select the engine, you'll not see record option anymore, so it means google has fixed the bug in their dialer app. Even downgrading didn't help.

Hi. I came across this topic because i have Android 11 and i need to record phone calls.
Is this ttslexx safe or not? I mean, does it steal credit cards information and passwords?
Another question...i have an old version of the app "google phone", does ttslexx really stops the voice that says "this call is now being recorded"? Has anyone tried to call a friend and check if the friend can hear the annoying announcement?
Please let me know
Thanks.

About call recording pre-announcement in Google Phone app.
Thank you very much.
I have an old version of google phone dialer app, if i will never update it, does it mean that the Ttslexx trick will work forever?
Please let me know guys
Hi everyone, my Google Phone app is up to date as of 03/15/22. The TTSLexx works great for now. The voice is still silent.
ADD: The Google phone / contacts and messages apps cannot be uninstalled, so no one has done a nice custom ROM for the Poco M4 Pro yet?

Hi man, you say that google phone app cannot be uninstalled. What about deleting the updates?
For example. Version 1.0 works with ttslexx, if u update to version 2.0(by mistake or other reasons) in which they fixed the trick, THEN, if u uninstall the update and get back to version 1.0, will ttslexx work?
Of course versions are of my imagination, not the real ones.
One more thing please.
Have you tried to call a friend of yours, to check if they actually cannot hear the "announcement"?
Please let me know.
its not working on oppo reno 5 latest update color os 12 android 12
What data it collects?
Disable announcement without installing 3rd party apps

Question Gboard's Assistant voice typing is jacked

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get the Assistant voice typing option working in Gboard? I'm at my wits end trying to figure this sh!t out and believe I have tried everything I can find on the Internet, as well as my own tinkering. Everything was working fine, but then all of a sudden this morning it stopped and the Assistant voice typing option is grayed out saying You can't currently use Assistant voice typing. The following are things I've tried
clearing data/cache for Gboard, as well as the Google app - still says You can't currently use Assistant voice typing
removed my Google non-gmail account
uninstalling Gboard (beta) and Google app (beta), which leaves you with the system default versions - same message
updated Google app (beta) from Play Store - Assistant voice typing needs an update. Connect to Wi-Fi to automatically download
leave Gboard settings, go back and message returns - You can't currently use Assistant voice typing
switched to non-beta of Google app via APKmirror - same result as the beta
updated to non-beta of Gboard - You can't currently use Assistant voice typing
what else haven't I tried??
Hi, it seems like you are as desperate as I was about that stupid greyed out option. I searched for days until I found a solution at least for my case. Perhaps it also works for you.
These are the instructions I followed:
1. Go into Assistant Settings and select Language (Account-Settings -> Google Assistant -> Sprachen (German for Languages))
2. Remove secondary Language by clicking on it and in Radial-Menu selecting keine (German for "None") right at the top.
3. Go into Gboard-Settings, into Voice typing. Now the option of Assistant Voice Typing should be available. Activate it!
4. Go back into Language-Settings for Assistant and add secondary Language again. After that just check it the Assistant Voice Typing is still activated in The GBoard settings.
You might have to give it some time to download the necessary files. I first thought it did not work, but when I checked again a bit later, it did!
Hope this helps.

I believe I may have come across your post in my searches and unfortunately I have checked there to see if there were any secondary languages that may have caused this and there are none =(
I ran into the same problem when I added Spanish to my languages for Gboard. Then after that, Google voice assisted typing worked intermittently. There were times that it didn't work, and then times that it did.
My remedy was sticking to just an English keyboard and flashing a whole new rom since I do it every month. I also wiped user data, because I thought whatever caused the problem was in user data.
Then it started working again. Whatever it is by Google, it's a nasty bug.
I've noticed in the settings, it says that I can't use it at times, but when I go to use it, it works perfectly fine.
Another thing is, if you're rooted, you can used rBoard to enable the flag NGA(New Google Assistant), but you will have to first do the fix for the flags by pasting the files they give into your /data/data/ folder to fix whatever Google did to the keyboard that breaks rBoard at the moment.

yes, I feel the same way in that it's a nasty bug that is somehow related to languages. tried too many things that I don't remember now, but I believe this started happening after I had added Japanese as a second language somewhere. removing any traces of it did not fix it and I fear unless it's fixed that the only way to fix now is to either wipe or find the cause and report it...

do you have a link to this rBoard app? searches turn up rBoard theme manager, but the screenshots of the app do not look anything like yours... are you saying that rBoard breaks or GBoard when it comes to fixing the files in /data/data? does this mean you run this fix from time to time to get NGA working?

That's correct. It does a lot of things actually. You can even make your own custom themes for GBoard as well as enable different flags that aren't enabled by default.
Here's the XDA link for rBoard linking to the downloads.
[APP] Rboard Theme Manager
*require root* Rboard Theme Manager Manager app for Google Gboard keyboard app. Continuation of Magisk module "Rboard themes" with more customizations and themes. Rboard Themes are not overlays but just additional themes for Gboard app...
forum.xda-developers.com
There's been an uprise lately with XDA vs Telegram and whatnot, but based on what I read on the other thread, this doesn't violate the rules since you're not required to join the group to see this post, so...
Rboard Themes
New fix for flags until we figure it out why this happens: • Download • Extract it to /data/data/com.google.android.inputmethod.latin/shared_prefs • Force close Gboard flags should work now
t.me
This post here will tell you what to do do get rBoard working correctly. Root is required and you have to do this every time you update GBoard since it'll replace what you've done. You can turn off updating so you don't have to do it every time.
Feel free to PM me(or post here so others can see) and I'll happily guide you through whatever you need help with so that you get the hang of the app.

I had to factory reset it. I tried uninstalling ASI updates first with no luck. After a clean install everything works perfectly, without Pixelify. I lost voice text, live translate, Now Playing, and transcribe. I'm sure there were other features that it broke.
The only Pixelify mod I enabled was unlimited Photos storage.

yes, after your mention and my original suspicions I decided to look more closely into this Pixelify module. what I found and confirmed is that even if you only enable the unlimited Photos storage, there are other things that get installed/modified and one of them is ASI!! I've gone through the install script, as well as the files included in the module to comment out everything not dealing with the unlimited Photos mod. for extra measure I also removed the unneeded APKs and whatever else I could find from the module and repackaged it as a custom module for my own use. so far... it seems to be working!!
Just putting in my thoughts on the whole Pixelify thing, but I said I avoid using that module since it's used to enable Pixel features on non-Pixel devices. Since we already have a Pixel, it changes a lot of settings when everything already works fine.
Other have claimed the other Pixelify(app) doesn't work for them, but maybe you guys can try it as well. Don't know if you guys were apart of the other thread or not, but open it, select Pixel XL, click force stop(grant root), then open Google Photos and back up something. After that, check the description of it at the very very bottom for this tag in the screenshot below.
As for Assistant Voice Typing, you'll have to use rBoard to manually enable it. I've linked it in my other post above with the fix to get it working.

Does flashing your modified module fix the issue or do you have to factory reset to revert the changes made to the ASI? I have the same problem where my now playing isn't working properly. Voice text, live translate, and transcribe seems to work well. I'm hesitant to factory reset the phone just for the now playing feature.

Does flashing your modified module fix the issue or do you have to factory reset to revert the changes made to the ASI? I have the same problem where my now playing isn't working properly. you can think of my module pretty much as a gutting of the original module so only the relevant bits pertaining to unlimited photos remain therefore it will not fix the issue without doing a factory reset unfortunately. you may be able to revert the changes by examining all the changes done and reversing them

It requires LSPosed. Once enabled, just open the app, set it to Pixel XL and click force stop. After that, try backing something up and then check to see if you have what I had in the screenshot above.

I am considering the LSPosed approach as it does seem cleaner... I know a lot has changed since the XPosed days, but does LSPosed all SafetyNet to pass enough for GPay to work?
