I'm just curious
If you flash this file : Stock-GT-N8000-leaked-KK-Boot.img-CWR-installer.zip on a tablet does it permanetly downgrade the bootloader to gt-n8000?
I'm just curious what are the pros and cons on flashing it on an older device like a gt-n8013???
I think its pretty safe to say samsung isn't going to release any newer oem roms for these devices or am I wrong?
Thanks for any help offered.
Flashing this boot.img is the only way I can ever get my n8013 to have WiFi on the new KitKat roms based off of the stock rom.
I have done flashing and rooting in the past on both a Samsung Charge, Nexus and S3, but it's been a while. Ive used Odin, and the TOOLKIT, and am somewhat familiar with both.
I have had my S3 for several years, STOCK, STOCK, STOCK, and liked it just the way it was. I had a WIFI tethering app, SVTP that worked, and didnt take updates for fear it would quit working, well I accidentally took an update, and now it doesnt work.
Id like to reflash the phone back to a previous stock software, I forget which one I had, but currently here is my phone info
SCH-I535
4.3
I535VRUCML1
KERNEL 3.0.31
build JSS15J.I535VRUCML1
hardware I535.10
I believe I had Jellybean, or a 4.0 firmware.
How should I flash this back, and where can I download the files and the correct version of ODIN?
So i attempted to flash an older OS 4.0 i think, with odin, and It said ABOOT FAIL! and I kind of bricked it. Was I supposed to unlock the boot loader or wipe the device before doing this?
Now I got it connected to kies and am in the process of downloading latest Samsung OS to phone, so i can try again.
What did I do wrong?

As long as your not on the NC1 or NE1 baseband/firmware you can indeed revert back to an older version. And you do indeed have to unlock the bootloader to revert to a previous version of Android
In my personal opinion your best bet is the casual root/unlock method which will do both for you

so i have NE1 now. Why cant i downgrade anymore?
Tonight im going to reattempt to flash 4.1 with odin, unlocking bootloader first.
my only othed issue is i can find very few versions of Stock OS on web. There should be like 5 or 6 for this phone, ive only found 2 or 3. Please point me in direction of any stock OS files.

Because your on a locked bootloader and downgrading now would brick your device

Is there no method to unlock these firmwares currently?
if so does anyone have an S3 for sale that has older firmware?

Check swappa for that. I know brand new ones have the newest firmware, your better bet is swappa
And no they are locked down tightly, unlocking is nearly impossible

what if i soft brick it on purpose, can i somehow download an older version via kies once soft bricked?

I believe even the 4.3 ML1 update will lock your bootloader. The 4.4.2 NE1 definitely will. There's no known way to revert back to an unlocked bootloader.

You are correct. I did a quick search and those who took the 4.3 ML1 OTA are indeed on a locked bootloader

I have a Verizon Galaxy S3 that I've had for a couple years that I bootloader unlocked first thing when I first purchased it. The baseband says "NE1"
I am running a later release of Cyanogenmod 11 (official) with TWRP recovery and I may be having LTE issues; unsure if it is because of the area I am living or if it is my phone itself but I do run into a handful of LTE issues.
I figure my best solution is to install the latest radio that is compatible with my open bootloader firmware. I would love to stick with my open bootloader instead of flashing the latest firmwares and risk locking the bootloader.
I need to know where and which latest bootloader I should flash and which method to flash with. Someone that can point me in the right direction is greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading.
EDIT: Could I also be running an old phone FIRMWARE? As far as I am aware, the only thing that I can update being that I am unlocked bootloader is my baseband/radio- is there anything else that I should check to update to flash via odin?

Post a screen shot of your about phone screen if you can

HI all,
I am in need of the stock bootloader and PDA (and eventually the stock ROM v4.0.4)
I had to downgrade to V4.0.4, but something went wrong when I wanted to update the PDA (with odin)
At this moment my phone freezes as soon when I'm trying to go into recovery mode, so that isn't usable at all anymore.
I need v4.0.4 to unlock my SIM.
There are a bunch of topics I found with exactly what I need, but unfortunately all links are dead
Can't even get it back with wayback-machine.
I need advice an method's an or people opinion on even rooting this phone. If it's worth it please help me enjoy my new phone even more
Im trying to build a custom firmware and running out of hard drive space doing it lol. Im trying to test differnt versions of firmwares on this sucker. the end goal is to get the radios flashed over to a firmware that is compatible with Qlink. anyone wanna help? <3

i would be willing to help, i have alot of disk space + pc resources.
I found an (a01q) (SM-A015M) guide here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/how-to-root-samsung-a01-a015f-ds.4147191/page-2#post-85246899. As it reflects in the SM-S111DL adb shell, as a01q. Can someone verify if this is a variant? Should we be flashing parts of the (a01q) (SM-A015M) firmware to the SM-S111DL?
Also have we tried flashing different CSC's to verify if the OEM Unlock option appears in devops? also check to see on each csc is you can just natively run fastboot oem unlock in the bootloader.
I had trouble doing a carrier switch, so we just went back to Straight Talk, and gave the device back. Waiting for a knockoff unlocked s22 ultra from alibaba so my frend can move to qlink. So he has it for now. I dont want to risk bricking it and him not have a phone.
However, I thoroughly went through that device and the ramparts, investigating information about the device. so im hare to help and once we get the replacement device for him then ill try again on that device.
1. try different firmwares to verify if the OEM unlock function appears. It'll most likely be early versions of the firmware.
2. Verify the device variants and see if parts of their builds are congruent with 111DL
3. test each flash and attempt to enable fastboot
This is a lower end device but with a debloat and bl unlock i think it would be worth at least a little time.
I have crap tons of tools that will save you time.
Can we set up a sharepoint?
