I'm presently disabling services and packages with adb on my p40 pro. I have Nova launcher installed as my default launcher. I'm thinking of disabling the default huawei stock launcher. Is it safe to disable while Nova is the default launcher?
Lets say I do and something goes wrong in the future where Nova doesnt boot, is there a way to enable usb debugging in the phone since there'd be no launcher present?

On 2.3 there was no problem switching launchers, installed beta 3.0 and kept all my settings.
so i kept the different launcher.
After i tried to switch launchers, i always end up at the EMUI homescreen by pressing home button, or when i want to set a standard launcher, lets say Nova Launcher, i will be brought back to the EMUI homescreen.
Nothing works so far, and i hate the looks of EMUI
Any Ideas?
Sam

With the module App Settings for Xposed I could put the home screen launcher landscape when I turned the phone. In 5.1.1 it does not work anymore. Can someone confirm?
I can't confirm because I don't use stock launcher. But launchers like Nova allow landscape mode natively, why not use one of them?
Hi guys, anyone experiencing issue with multi task? after exiting the mode and then all recent apps are not showing?
Are you, by any chance, using a custom Launcher like Nova or Prime Launcher? For some reason, using these cause the recent apps menu to fail while using split screen. The only way to get rid of this bug is to totally disable Huawei original launcher with ADB. It will revert back to old Oreo style recent apps menu.
Can confirm that this is caused by using a third party launcher. Can also confirm that removing Huawei Home fixex this. Re-enabled it though after they fixed the blue tint issue.
Hi, I have a Samsung S10+ running Android 10 and One UI 2.5.
I am constantly getting an issue with Nova Launcher where if i clear my recent apps the screen refreshes and then One UI takes over and it goes to that home screen rather than Nova. If i then press the Home button again it then takes me back to Nova's home screen again and does stay there until i clear my recent apps again.
Nova is definitely set to the default launcher and when this happens i go into the Nova settings and it shows no launcher is set as default, i then set it as default but the same thing keeps happening each time.
I have tried clearing the cache from both Nova and One UI but this didn't fix anything.
Is this a know issue? It has happened for a while but wasn't that annoying but since a recent android update it seems to be happening all the time now.
Does anyone know if i can fix this?
Thanks

Yes , it's because since Android 10, the nav bar and recent UI are managed by your default launcher. That's really infuriating I know. But if you root your device with magisk, there is a module called QuickSwitch that allows you to set a third-party launcher as the nav bar UI provider.
Hope that helps
Anyone else experiencing this issue? If I close an app down and go to select another app to quickly the device will open up the last recent app, I have to wait a few seconds between closing one app and going to the second. It's really annoying. Anyone else having a similar issue? I'm using Nova launcher as my default launcher and I've doubled checked I have no gesture enabled.
Swap to Samsung default launcher and see if you can replicate. I also use Nova and no such issue
I'm using Microsoft Launcher and I am not experiencing that issue. Was Nova Launcher recently updated? Try clearing cache for Nova Launcher and reboot your phone.
I can confirm that I have the same issue on my snapdragon S22 Ultra.
Change navigation gestures from bottom or to buttons and it will be fixed, it looks like a launcher issue(any custom launcher, tried nova, lawnchair, pixel....)
Yeah it was clearly a custom launcher issue, cleared data and it didn't help. I couldn't replicate the same issue with the default launcher but Samsung couldn't pay me to use that launcher... Used vluboshs solution by switching from gestures to navbar and back to gestures and disabled gesture hints and it seems like it's solved it.
