USB 3.0 To Gigabit Adapter - Why Not Work Properly on Android ? - General Questions and Answers

Hello, I recent bought a 5-in-1 USB C HUB with the AX88179 ASIX Chip bult-in. I have a 250mbps ISP Internet speed and everything is setting to work at the max it can. Cables and Routers specific for it. Well, I tested the HUB in my computers and laptops, all usbs ports and eterneth working, eterneth adapter in Gigabit and giving me my full ISP speed. Just to mention, my desktop is a Windows 10 and my laptop a Macbook pro.
But, the problem is when i try to use in any Android device - Android 11 and 10 - USB ports work well, but the Eterneth is being capped to 100mpbs even the router showing 1000mpbs for all LAN ports.
I am using the same cables and router for desktop or laptop.
What can be happend ? Is there any fix ?

[Q] 3.1 Host Mode & USB Ethernet

Does anyone know if the new host mode interface in 3.1 supports a USB Ethernet adapter? I'd like to be able to use one of these when I'm traveling and at a hotel that only has wired connections.

I wouldn't think so you would probably need some proprietary drivers to make the adapter work
Why not go with a small travel router? It's one more thing to carry but would satisfy the lan line only issue.
This one got some good reviews, not too pricey:

What about other uses? I'd love to have a usb serial adapter and a usb ethernet adapter so I can use the xoom for adminning devices and such.
linux drivers
Android uses a normal linux kernel, so anything supported by linux will be supported. I have used an external wifi, ethernet and usb-serial with an Android phone.

[Q] Allwinner a10 tv box - adding ethernet

After being struck by lightning, both the wireless and wired connections on my Allwinner a10 tv box stopped working! Tried different cables and ports on the router, but it is definitely the tvbox (it just says "disconnected"). Wireless will not find any networks.
It has full USB ports, would a USB to ethernet adapter work? Will Android accept another ethernet adapter?
In case anyone else ever wonders: it works!
It was added as eth1 (the non-functioning one is still listed as eth0). On 2 of the 5 android versions/firmwares I tried you could simply select eth1 as the adapter to use in network settings.

[Q] docking station and the ethernet connection

i just got the surface pro docking station and hooked it up , everything is working except the ethernet . it first finds connection then starts to indentify and then it keeps saying unidentified network. i have updated the latest surface ethernet adapter driver. whats going on?
i can connect with an usb to ethernet adapter no problem and my other comps are also connected so its not my router/ modem . its the ethernet connection on the surface pro docking station. ps, the usb to ethernet adapter works while plugged into the docking station.
Does it physically function while claiming to be an unidentified network? My laptops ethernet port also labels it as an unidentified network but works perfectly fine.
no i can not connet to the net via the rj45 connection but like i said when i connect with the rj45 connected to a usb adapter the internet works fine , i dont know what i m missing here, i figured, plug the rj45 connector in and it would connect. what has the usb adapter got that the docking station ethernet connector dosent.

Internet connection via USB OTG

To begin with, hello to you all on the forums!
I have a question and I would appreciate any suggestions on how to progress.
I have a Z1 Compact (D5503) that I would like connected to Internet via RJ-45 and a pretty much standard Wi-Fi router (with ethernet outs, of course).
What I decided to do was get an OTG cable, a USB ethernet adapter, and just plug it all in together: router -> RJ45 -> ethernet adapter -> OTG cable -> D5503. That didn't work. I thought maybe the adapter is lacking power, so I used a USB hub - that didn't work either (with 2 different hubs and 2 different OTG cables in all possible configurations). The phone seems not to be aware of the ethernet adapter at all (when trying with a hub, it's either only charging, or charging and informing about a PC connection, depending on what I plug the hub into - but the adapter seems not to be detected at all, or I'm unaware of where to look; no internet connection either; without a hub, nothing happens when I plug in).
I have seen on this forum, and some other places on the net, that such connection should be possible. What am I doing wrong? Am I missing some steps in the phone configuration?
I know I can just use Wi-Fi for that connection, and I will if there's no solution - I would much prefer a wired option, however.
Thanks in advance for all your help!

Android box with OTG(USB 3.0) and gigabit ethernet

I'm searching for Tv box models that has a OTG port that is USB 3.0 and has a gigabit ethernet. Can you guys point me to those models? I'm having hard time to find as there are many announcements that are not showing the information about the box having OTG support.
I need this functionality for a custom solution I'm trying to test, it would be ideally a gigabit connection and also the USB 3.0 on the OTG port, but if it's at least Gigabit + usb 2.0 it could work.
