Question Automatic Weather Update - Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

I can't get my weather complications or widget to automatically update. I can manually update the weather and it will automatically update if I am connected with WiFi but not with bluetooth. I have already set locations to be always on and the Samsung Wear app on the phone is set to not be optimized for battery. Anyone else have this issue and figured out what settings I need to change?

I too have noticed that my Samsung Watch 4 Classic weather app does not automatically update the temperature readings. This watch OS software seems to have bugs. I have it set to auto refresh every 1 hour. I have allow location always enabled. Tried rebooting watch several times and no fix. I have to manually update the weather app each time I want the current temperature reading. BAD! Another bug I notice is the watches speaker call volume is very very low. It seems to get stuck at a very low volume when I get a call and I can hardly hear the other party speaking! The watch dial shows the blue volume ring turned all the way up to max volume. Still low speaker volume on calls. BAD! They need to give us a software update to fix these quirks.

I fixed by issue by adding the Weather widget to one of my home screens. Once I did that, the weather on my phone auto updated.

Atom O2 Plus Bug ? Need confirmation from other users.

I have noticed this bug on my Atom with O2 Plus and need confirmation from other users before I try to feedback to their support.
I have found that my Atom intermittently does not sound Notifications and Alarms. Couldn't figure why for awhile then I discovered this workaround :
1.
Using O2 Plus, switch profile to Silent. You will notice speaker icon on the top bar shows muted.
2.
Switch profile back to Normal. The icon at the top bar now shows the speaker as ON (but actually notifications and remoinders will now fail i.e. not sounding)
3.
Go to Settings / Sounds & Notifications / Notifications
On the Event drop down, select reminders
4.
You will see your notification alarm sound with a "test play" button.
Hit the test play button a couple of times, then wait a few seconds.
5.
You will mysteriously see the speaker status in the top bar change to MUTE !!! Click on it, turn speaker back on, close all the windows. Your notifications will now sound correctly at the appointed alarms and calendar times.
It seems the O2 Plus profile when switching back from silent to normal does not do a full job in turning on the notification sounds, just system sound or something like that.
If you carry out this procedure everytime you switch your profile you will no longer have missing / silent notifications !
Can other users confirm this bug / phenomenon ?
Anyone able to write a simple proggy or script to do the above procedure automatically ?
Haven't noticed it before, and I haven't missed any notifications, but you're right.
yeah i noticed this!!!THANKS FOR THE FIX!
just to add.besides notifications, you also lose screen taps when switching from different profiles.this apparently is not fixed by your solution.

[Q] Pantech Discover P9090 Forcing it to be Silent

You would think just by using the rocker, you could cause the phone to be quiet by moving it to the vibrate or silent position. Or by pushing the power off, and going to silent mode. However certain pre-installed apps seem to over-ride this function. The worry is that other apps are not silent either? I just can't trust the phone. Examples:
I didn't realize that the Google maps software was running in the background, and it complained audibly that it had lost the 'data connection'. I had turned the phone on silent ,and still the phone started speaking when I didn't want it to.
The camera app also has a shutter sound feature, of course. I didn't think about it. Nor did I worry about it, because it was in Silent mode, right? But it also still made shutter noise...?!. in silent mode!
I have investigated different widgets, and a couple of apps. Currently I have installed, 'Silent Toggle Widget' - It is neat, for what it does, but it does not solve my problem.
Help. How do I make my phone to stop talking and behave!

There doesn't seem to be any way to have the phone shut up. I do note that if you put it on Silent Mode it won't chime when powering on or off. But that doesn't help for screen unlock chimes, or the camera shutter (I spent half an hour looking for an option in camera to turn off shutter sounds. There is none. I just use a different camera now.) even whatsapp chimes when it feels like it in silent mode.
There seems to be some really strange audio issues with this phone. For example, I can't figure out where the default notification sounds are.
And in the Messaging app, it wont allow me to set the notification I want to use to override the global notification. It just doesn't see it for some reason.
Hopefully these issues will be resolved if we ever get a cyanogen port for this device.

Silent mode in Lollipop?

Hey all,
So I've been running Lollipop for a few days now and till now I haven't find the silent mode. So even without vibration for calls.
Right now I have two choices:
1. Completly silent. But this will also silence my alarm which I don't want.
2. Let it vibrate. Which I don't want for phone calls.
I want my phone to be silenced but the alarm excluded.
Normally users could hit the volume down key one more time and put their smartphone into silent mode where it won’t even vibrate.
I've been searching for days for this simple option. Can someone help me out?
Thanks in advance.

Priority Mode.
Under "Interruptions" turn off everything and the only thing that will make a sound when the phone is in Priority Mode is the Alarm.

And the low battery sound and the charging sound and a few other system sounds. Priority mode is a poor substitution for a real silent mode.
I can't believe Google took silent mode out.
What the F were they thinking?

Set volume to 1 (Just before vibrate mode). Sit and reboot phone. You will now be in silent mode.
It's messed up for sure. I had it set to "priority" with everything unchecked so just my alarm would come through but some dumb Facebook notification woke me up in the middle of the night. Wasn't amused.
The only way to silent the phone except for alarms is to put it in airplane mode? Ridiculous.
Looking forward to some custom ROMs to fix up this mess.
This is my main reason for not updating to 5.0 so far... All I want is to be able to set the phone to totally silent, but still have the LED light for notifications without having to download something like LightFlow to do it. I like having nothing make noise/vibrate, but still have the LED blink when something comes in.

I developed an app: Call Filter Alarm. Its sleep mode can silence all notifications (also whatsapp and viber), even on Lollipop.
Hope it helps

Hi guys!
I too have the same problem and no app helped me... so I searched far and wide and I finally found a simple trick With my knowledge I have created an app:
Silent Mode Lollipop (search for it.merkcoolapp.silentmodelollipopfree in the Google Play Store to find it)
It only does one thing: switch from normal mode to silent mode, on any version of Android (of course, including Lollipop).
Remember, it's the 1.0 version
I hope it helps!

I made a small workaround that is very handy!
I used Nova Activities widget to create a shortcut to the Sounds and Notificaitions --> Interruptions activity.
Whenever I want to sleep, I simply tap the widget on my homescreen, turn off Calls as priority notifications and go to sleep with peace of mind
As soon as I wake up, I simply enable Calls as priority interruptions again by using the Nova widget
I know this is a workaround but this is the best way I found so far to solve this irritating problem on Android Lollipop.
I would also love to hear about any workarounds that anyone else on XDA has hacked together! Probably whip out a dialog UI using Tasker?
Hit thanks if my post helped you
There is an app called True Silent Mode which supposedly adds back silence like we are all used to. Alternatively you can try a different ROM. CM12 has the usual "silent but with alarms on" mode.

I can not seem to turn off the Speaker.

In a meeting kept getting IMs, and the watch beeped every time. It was distracting and I was annoying people in the room so I pulled down the settings and clicked on the speaker icon. The symbol is now the speaker with the line through it but the sound is not Disabled !!!!!!
What can I be doing wrong ? In some situations it is inappropriate for the watch to make sounds but I can not turn sound off.
hello,
never happen to me, I will investigate and if possible give you feedback.
regards

Not sure if you are new in android. Android has 3 volume for adjustment. You need to control them one by one. You mute the media volume, but you will still get sound from notification, or ring.
Check out more audio option in the option menu, not the quick slide down icons.

It also has One Setting to turn the Speaker On and Off. This is what did not work yesterday.
Turn the Speaker off at the meeting on again when it ends. Easy if it worked
Looks like the App "Feel the Wear" was causing this issue.
The developer updated the app and now turning the speaker off mutes notifications.

Media volume turns up by itself

Hello, and first of all, sorry if my english is bad, I am german
Ok, I own a Galaxy S7 since 2 weeks without branding and with the latest (officially) available Android via Smart Switch.
Everything works fine and all, but one thing is bothering me. The Volume for "media", I mean the volume if you for ex. listen to music, turns itself on to fully loudnes. I don't know why and how to stop this.
If an app is doing this, how can I find out, which one is responsible?
Thanks.
PS: I haven't rooted yet.
Hi, You dont tell, is that problem on speaker or headset?
I have same problem with original headset. After first drop of swat, to headset controls, on training. After dry up, everything back to normal.
WEll, it is combined with the speaker. So I turn the volume down, and after like 3-4 hours, it is on highest volume, without me touching the volume button.
Ok, I may have found out that my alarm clock is one of the responsible apps. As now with Android 7 on the S7, there is no seperate Volume for "alarm clock", but my galaxy S5 with Android 4.4.2 had it. So now it is the same as the Media volume. If I want my alarm clock to be loud and wake me up, it automatically has to increase the volume from mute to max :-/
Is there an app, that automatically mutes the media volume from time to time?

Do not disturb built into settings, allows alarms and anything else you add through and keeps everything else silent during those hours
Ok, I never really understood this "do not disturb" mode... I will give it a try. Thanks.

Basically the days & hours you set = when the phone will stay quiet, apart from exceptions you can add to the exceptions list (Like alarms / people added to your favourite list etc)
I have mine set to shutup at 11pm apart from alarms, and to go back to normal sound mode at 8:30am every day
But you can set it up to whatever schedule you like, and/or manually enable it from the notifications pull down at the top (no entry sign)
Great for keeping those people who think it's funny to WhatsApp you at 3am, quiet
