For Samsung Galaxy S GT-i9000T - Telecom NZ Gingerbread 2.3.3 Official Update
I prefer to use Odin 1.3.
Make sure there is no tick on re-partition.
No need to wipe any data before doing this update.
Put the .tar file into the PDA field.
Put your phone into download mode and connect USB cable. Wait for 'ADDED' in the message box. If it doesn't appear you may need to reinstall your drivers. Hit start once you see it.
If you have any lag fixes enabled, I recommend disabling them first and make sure your phone is fully charged!
As always, done at your own risk! Works well for me!

Unfortunately I'm still a new user so the link to the download is in the attached .txt file! happy flashing!

Did that work for you ok? I had huge issues finding an official TNZ ROM last year. We used checkfus to pull this update and it seemed to work ok for me. I wasn't on this ROM for long though.
yes worked really well I had issues using 850
I spent all yesterday hunting on the net & testing multiple firmwares but couldn't get 850 working. I finally managed to get the official firmware on after reverting to 2.3.3. 850 now working properly. I was concerned the ph may have issues & wanted it stock for return if needed. I have device insurance.
On a side note: I have an S2 as well & have noticed throughput has dropped on the latest 2.3.6 firmware for data, I was getting 9mb on stock S2 2.3.3 & now it is 4mb, the same as the S1 on the stock firmware, so I will revert to the stock firmware for S2 as well & check data throughput again.
I couldn't get S2 stock firmware to work, kept rebooting, so have gone to [I9100XXLPH] New ICS firmware http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1500816
seems to be pretty stable although chrome beta isn't :-(
hi do these i9000t's need different firmware to work on 3G/850 in NZ?
would this one work on 850 band....or would i need to do the above mentioned firmware change to telecom version?

Hey not sure what version that is you're running, I can't say I've seen it before.
You can run any Firmware you like, it's the modem file that determines the frequencies the device will use. If you're having issues accessing the WCDMA 850 band, try flashing the UGJL2 modem through CWM. Get the modem file here
Good luck!
EDIT: you can also see the band you're currently using by typing *#0011# into the dial pad to confirm you are using WCDMA 850 Band

Hey mate, not too sure to be honest. I know this version works on Samsung Galaxy GT-i9000T for Telecom New Zealand but I couldn't say if it would work. Could always give it a go and if not you can always restore as long as you have a working back up.

Hello! I now move on to new cyanogen roms but since the firmware is updated new baseband is "di 3.0".
I have a oneplus one which its IMEI changed by changing 00550 NV ITEM. Since oneplus one has its own security policy about changing IMEI my 2G not working yet I can able to run 3G in 2.0 modems ( Kitkat Modems ) (My country doesn't have 4G btw).
Since I installed a new rom with a new firmware my reception run into connection loop which is connecting and instantly drop the connection says no sim card. Since its in a loop it tries to connect over and over and drops.
I can easly save this by flashing any kitkat modem, connection become stable but it breaks gyro sensors and the sensor fixes in xda won't help the issue..
Is there any way to disable natively disable 2G on DI3.0 basebands ? or is it checking the NV item and breaks the connection ? if it is, is there a way to disable that also ? I Can't use any roms because of this baseband and sensor issue.
Note : I also tried to write its own IMEI again but it is still looping and no 2G in 2.0basebands.
Hi,
I’m from Portugal and I’ve bought a Mi5 some days ago.
I have a problem for which I don’t find any solution.
The phone came with a modified fake ROM from the Chinese store but was working fine.
I unlocked the phone and installed TWRP to flash other ROMs. I flashed MIUI 8 global stable and a custom ROM from Xiaomi.eu without any problem.
Everything was working fine with the phone but I noticed that a lot of files from prior fake ROM (the one from the Chinese store) remained in the phone. So I decided to swipe everything in TWRP (including system and internal storage) and flashed MIUI Global Stable ROM again.
From this point, I never again been able to connect to a WiFi network and the 2G, 3G LTE connection became very weak and instable. The phone scan the wifi network available without problem, but after introducing the password, it tries to connect and just shows “Saved”.
I tried a lot of stuff. Static IP, reboot router, change router channel, change router security settings, flash different ROM, tweak build.prop file, but the problem persist.
In the phone test menu, when I try to connect to a WiFi I see that the phone scan, connect, disconnect, scan, connect, disconnect…
Any help?
Do you think it’s Hardware related issue? Or phone firmware and driver problem?
I’ll be very grateful for any assistance.

You use the new flash tool:

Op, can you check what configuration your phone has loaded? To do this type this in dialer *#*#7378423#*#* then "Service Info" then "Software info". there should be row called Current modem Config: What does it read?
From the XZ Premium available modem configurations i can see following UK stuff available.
amss_fsg_maple_ee_ims_tar
amss_fsg_maple_hutch_uk_tar
amss_fsg_maple_hutch_uk_volte_vowifi_tar
amss_fsg_maple_telefonica_uk_ims_tar
amss_fsg_maple_telefonica_uk_tar
amss_fsg_maple_virgin_uk_tar
amss_fsg_maple_vodafone_uk_tar
amss_fsg_maple_vodafone_uk_volte_vowifi_tar
For the 3UK to work from phone side, you probably need amss_fsg_maple_hutch_uk_volte_vowifi_tar loaded in current modem config.
Do you have volte calls option available under Mobile network settings?
If everything there, but not working still then need to get feedback from 3UK if they need to switch it on for XZ Premium

hi with EE firmware there is current modem config there is: amss_fsg_maple_ee_ims_tar.mbn and EE Wifi Calling and EE VoLTE works
hi with 3UK firmware- the correct modem config is there-> but no Band 20, No VoLTE (and no Wifi Calling- looking at 3UK website -> even the 3UK XZP doesn't have Wifi calling support).
I note the EE current firmware security update is from June'17, 3UK latest firmware is April'17.
Maybe things will improve when 3 UK update their firmware
A big downside of XZP seems to be you can't lock onto a specific band... (you can fix LTE but not the band)
If the correct region firmware is flashed and correct config loaded then volte should be good to go from phone side.
Operator can still limit volte per device model or firmware version.
Comparing the April firmware and June, there are no changes in modem config files.
But there is hope that new build is the qualifying factor for 3UK.
O2 UK has volte and vowifi active with the June update also
LTE band locking will be available when good root support arrives.
PS. If you feel like experimenting then you can take the latest EE firmware and switch out the oem.sin from 3UK firmware and flash it.
This should give you newest base and 3uk oem config.
I have just flashed the 3 firmware. I can confirm that I am not getting band 20 or volte.
The option to turn it on is not in settings either.
Current modem config:
/system/etc/customization/modem/amss_fsg_maple_hutch_uk_tar
Hopefully the June update will fix it.
Edit: I can't test adding the three oem bit into the ee firmware as I am going away now and can't flash my phone. But will try and test when I get back if no one has (or the newer firmware is available) by then

I'm with EE and only ever had EE in the phone but my modem is O2?
Current Modem Config /system/etc/customization/modem/ amss.fsg maple telefonica uk tar.mbn

Yes you can flash the official EE firmware without having to unlock.
Get the firmware via xperifirm then flash using newflasher

Any ideas why unlocked version has o2 modem?
modem is loaded via detection of sim, but volte settings come from oem.sin that is in the regional firmware.

In that case it is loading the wrong modem.
The modem that is needed is in the folder but not loaded.
amss_fsg_maple_hutch_uk_volte_vowifi_tar.mbn
Whereas the one that is loaded is amss_fsg_maple_hutch_uk_tar.mbn
if you could alter files in oem.sin then this could be changed.
Do we have a method to repack .sin files? I know how to "unsin" and how to extract .ext4 but repacking is unknown to me.
Also it is possible to select the configuration manually via app. Might not work with non-rooted devices.
Check the tutorial here https://forum.xda-developers.com/crossdevice-dev/sony/enabling-volte-xperia-z2-xperia-z3-t3438505
root, build.prop changes and shortcutmaker is needed.
Also maybe the 3uk june update will change which configuration is loaded will check when it drops.
Anybody managed to connect to band 20 on EE with the latest firmware update?
Not sure if I've connected or not with the latest update, but since then I no longer see 4G+ (which is the norm for other EE phones, but for some reason I had it on the XZ Premium until now).
It is still using CA and VoLTE is still working, so I assume band 20 is still usable.
Cellmapper https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cellmapper.net.cellmapper will show you which band you are connected to.
My Sonyss show 4G+ when there is Carrier Aggregation in use. Should see LTE-A in Cellmapper when that is the case.

Having returned from the Lake District I can confirm I had use of band 20 with no problems, and it made a big difference to coverage and speed. Many places in excess of 100Mbps with band3+20!
Hello everyone!
I have a Xiaomi Mi A3 and I 've been trying to activate wifi calling for days without success. Until now I have done the following:
1) I have activated WiFi calling with Vodafone Greece for my line
2) The device is among the carrier supported devices
3) The wifi calling switch is ON
4) I have tried the *#*#vowifi#*#* code
5) I switched from global to EU rom via OTA just in case.
None of the above seems to solve the problem and my phone still has no WiFi calling.
I contacted Vodafone support and they said they would send the issue over to Xiaomi to check with my IMEI why that would happen. No news yet...
Any help would be very much appreciated.
I found a thread in another forum about the same problem but for Xiaomi Mi 8. They said that they solved it by changing the settings of modem config, using an app activity manager. I downloaded app activity manager from the play store but I couldn't find modem config. Does anyone know how to find that?
