Settings > Connections > Mobile Network > Access Points ... Then select an access point. It seems the update deselects the access point, you just need to reselect it and you will have connection back.

Good spot
Yeah, cheap tricks.
That's one reason I never update the OS.
Still running on Pie, zero issues.
I have the galaxy note 10 plus 5g and I can call and txt at anytime (using wifi and not using wifi) but I can only access the internet when I'm on wifi.....??? When I go to look at the APN it says "access point names are not available for this user" i had verizon service but then switched to straight talk. I paid to get this phone unlocked and was told it was but like I said I can only get on internet when on wifi....can someone plz help....

Hey everyone,
I can't seem to find the answer to this question anywhere else, so I'm going to post my issue here.
I purchased a Nexus S today through a private sale, and rooted it and all that good stuff...and I installed the "Apex ICS ROM". Everything seems to be working okay except for my data plan. I can access web pages only when on Wi-Fi, but when I disconnect from Wi-Fi I get nothing.
I know the issue must reside in the ROM, because earlier today the phone was running Gingerbread (2.3.6) and everything was working perfectly.
If anybody has any suggestions for me I would greatly appreciate it!
-Luke
Reflash back to stock and try again
You just need to enter your carriers data settings.
Menu > System Settings > More.. > Mobile networks > Access point names > Menu > New APN > {enter server info from carriers site} > Menu > Save
Data should work after that.

Hello all Seniors,
I am new to this forum and not a techy person.....Recently I update my Samsung S4 (Model # SGH-I337M) phone with 4.4.2 version and now problem started with Wi-Fi network.. At my house, no issue I can connect Wi-Fi without any trouble but in my Office I am not able to connect Wi-Fi network...before updating the phone Wi-Fi was working great at the office. it shows on the phone saved network but no internet at all.
it is kit-kat version -4.4.2 when I hit 5 to 6 times on version button to check which version I am using it came with letter "K".
someone told me to uninstall McAfee app from phone but I checked in my complete app folder but I could not find McAfee app icon at all.
in security folder - Device Manager it shows two Icon
1. KNOX
2. Android Device Manager
any suggestion please? anyone in the forum have any solution or similar experience?

Hi all,
Well i saw a lot of threads about how to unlock the Sprint LS996 flex 2 and a lot of strange explanations that the phone is locked on the hardware level, It's a lot of bull***
I just bought this phone from Ebay for only 280$ and it took me less that a hour to make it work in Israel (Hot-Mobile) 3G GSM/WCDMA network. (the LTE band are different than in USA so it can't be enabled due to hardware limitations)
This will only work on Android 5.0.1, who already did the upgrade to 5.1.1 should wait till approve of root method or
can try KingRoot application (Chinese developer and UI) and let me know if it's working. I did not used this app so can't really approve that it works.
5.1.1 Root (experimental):
Explain Video about KingRoot method: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QicDqTKb_sU
5.0.1 Root:
I'm used this method for rooting G flex: http://www.smartphoneclinics.com/easy-one-click-root-lg-flex2-sprint-ls996/ (worked flawless)
SimUnlock:
After successful rooting and restarting the phone I've used this post for enable SIMUNLOCK (seem the db/obb files from G3 but they worked on my Flex 2): http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-flex2/help/managed-to-gsm-ls996-awaited-apn-t3090484
Did exactly what it says and used the files that attached to the thread. After restarting the phone Inserted the simcard and restarted the phone again, (I love restarts )
the network should change to "No Service" Instead of "Invalid SIM" or something like that before the obb/db file change.
Roaming Enable:
After you see "No service" you almost there
Go to Settings > Network > More > Mobile Networks > Network Mode and choose "Global"
Don't forget to add APN manually, you need to use WIFI for downloading applications like "Shortcut master lite" because there is no Mobile data... yet
APN setup:
Install Shortcut master lite click and hold the recent apps button and click "Search"
Search for apn select com.andoird.settings$ApnSettingsActivity and then click Launch / homescreen
Select on the Top Right new apn
Fill this form out with the apn from your provider (If you don't know the apn look it up in google APN settings for your provider).
Restart the Phone and let 1-2 min to the phone connect to your Mobile Provider
Let me know if this worked to you as well and press "thank's" button for me and "tomtam" that wrote the original post.
Actually after the root I manually de-bloated the phone using Root Uninstall and it's just amazing phone,
without any lag what so ever and i get Over 50K in Antutu 64bit. I'm trying to find a way to use custom recovery and i feel that i
found a workaround for that using TWRP Manager and Busy box..... (It's for different thread )

well lets get to it then it to much of a waste not having a custom recovery etc...maybe maybe a recovery using g3 bump would still work...
I did everything as you did for LS996 GSM unlock. I also enabled the LTE band 4 and it is working perfectly in my country, see: http://forum.xda-developers.com/g-flex2/general/how-to-enable-lte-bands-band-4-1700-t3097409.
To change apn simply install this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.appando.app.changeApn&hl=en. This app does not require root.
Use greenify app to control some apps resource use and freeze LG MLT service, just doing these steps you improve battery a lot.
Finally use any kernel control application as Trickster Mod to change scheduler to row from noop and set governor to interactive, don't forget to set changes at boot.
Enjoy your network unlocked, 4G capable and snappy flagship for only 200 bucks.

I believe this may be limitation. In the network mode option there is automatic, LTS/CDMA,CDMA and GSM/UMTS. I am thinking if you select LTE the phone will try to use CDMA for voice. So if your using A GSM network it wont work. There needs to be a option that says LTE/GSM.
No APN option.

Hello, I just bought a 2nd hand LG G Flex 2 for around $100 USD in Nepal. It is a USA Sprint model but unlocked. I checked the imei and its clean. It is already rooted and no sprint apps are present. Calls and sms are working good but there is no option of APN inside mobile networks. So i am unable to use data connection. Is there anyway i can enable it? And also the call volume via earpiece sounds a little low. Thanks in advance.
This thread is just to report I was successful in making this device work on Xfinity mobile.
Xfinity mobile doesn't have BYOD as of this writing, so I decided an experiment was in order. I popped my Xfinity mobile sim into the VS995 V20, rooted with Dirty Santa and installed SuperV20 (with the help of a lot of great people here and on reddit), and the device worked for a week or so before losing the apn settings and the ability to connect to 4G. I could still make calls and send texts.
It was pretty brainless to edit the APN setting that it defaulted to, but the menu is buried.
Navigate to -- Settings > Data Usage > Mobile Data > (Upper Right menu) Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > Select current (Verizon in my case) APN name > paste in this below, and click OK.
COMCAST.RSLR.VZWENTP
I assume that it will be lost again, but it's a simple matter of taking 30 seconds and pasting in these settings again, which I saved in an offline note.
4G works again and I pay way less than Verizon charges for the same network. Knowing Comcast, that too will change.
Thank you, XDA, for helping me root every phone I've ever owned, take back control of MY device, and combat ad spam. Hope this helps someone.
This should work for any android phone that has problems with 4G on Xfinity mobile, but the menus may be different. Just add the APN settings mentioned here and you'll be right as rain.
thanks for posting this. now that is has been over a month what issues can you report back? when you signed up for xfinity mobile, did they make you buy a phone or did you say you just wanted a sim?

Hey, I just saw this. I log in probably 3 or 4 times a year. Sorry for the incredibly late reply.
When I signed up for xfinity mobile, there was no BYO device option. I got the cheapest phone available at the time and bought a VS995 to experiment with. There was no "sim only" option. Not sure what current options are.
I've had 0 complaints, other than when setting a new phone up or doing a full wipe and upgrade to a newer ROM. I've got a little note in my phone that I backup with this post to steer me right back to working again.
EDIT to say that I spoke too soon and upon a full, cleared flash of LOS 15.1 for VS995 the APN settings weren't able to be changed. I figured out a fix, though. You have to find your carriers APN settings. For Xfinity Mobile it's located https://www.moneysavingpro.com/carriers/xfinity-mobile-apn-settings/
Found it in this thread here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75157321&postcount=14

This Works for 8.0 and 8.1 Devices
I came up with a new way that solves this issue.....no root required
I have confirmed this working on two Android 8.1 devices that use Verizon MVNO's (Pixel XL and Pixel 2 XL)
1. Turn phone off
2. Take out sim card
3. Boot phone up
4. Enable usb debugging and connect to PC
5. open up an ADB shell (if you dont know how to do this then do some research)
6. enter the command
Code:
am start -a android.intent.action.INSERT content://telephony/carriers --ei simId -1
7. This will open the "Add new APN" activity.
8. Fill in all the APN info you need to and name it whatever you want and then click save in the the menu options up top.
9. Once you save the APN...turn the phone off
10. Insert SIM again
12. Turn phone on and let it boot up.
11. Go to Access point names in settings and select the new APN you added.
Have a good day

I've had this phone since February and it's still stuck on Android 9 and the December 2019 security patch. No updates have ever been reported as available on the phone, and if I go into Settings -> System, it doesn't even have an 'Updates' section.
I've attempted to contact Alcatel Mobile about this several times, but never hear back. Has anyone else had this problem, and how did you resolve it?
Thanks!

It may be worth trying a factory reset and before you login to play store connect to somewhere like Spain/ UK and try and do an update with a VPN

I'm in Australia.
Considering it took nearly two weeks to get this set up the first time, I'd really rather not have to go through that again... I use the phone for security for dozens of work sites and accounts, setting up all the 2fa keys all over again is painful.
Updating should be a basic function of the phone :-/
Thanks for the suggestion, I will try that as a last resort if I really don't have any other option.
Should there be a 'System Update' tab within Settings --> System? That doesn't exist on my phone...
I also can't figure out how to edit network settings - if I go into Wifi settings, I can see the currently connected wifi network and the current IP, gateway and DNS settings, but there's no way to override the DHCP provided settings with a manual configuration.

you should access it in Settings\System\System Update (you can also use the search box in Settings main page to find "system update")
about the network, you can access the Wi-Fi settings of your network ('Modify Network') and then use 'Advanced options'.. you have several settings there, inluding Proxy and DHCP
