Can anyone confirm, does flip 3 has 5ghz wifi problem? I have compared my flip 3 to rog phone 3 on my 100Mbps internet and the flip 3 speedtests is never above 50Mbps mark.
Is this a bug or my flip 3 is a dud?
If you restored from a previous device (either with Google or Samsung), corruption is possible. Have you tried resetting the network settings for the phone to see if that improves anything?
It's also possible the router is giving the phone issues. It's actually quite common to see a router favor certain devices because the hardware interacts with it differently. A reset may help.
As for it being a universal issue, I cannot reproduce your results.

Are we talking about 5 Ghz WiFi? Then I have no problem, download 300mbps, upload 70mbps....
I have minor differences when comparing my old phone vs Flip3 (laying right next to each other). It's nothing major though:

I have tried to reset the network. It is better now but still the flip 3 wifi speed is lower than my other devices.
These are the comparisons between my flip 3, rog phone 3 and galaxy tab s6. All of them are using wifi 6 except tab s6 which used wifi 5.

Rog phone 3 full on connection 1.2Gbps wifi 6.
Galaxy tab s6 on wifi 5, 866Mbps connection.
and z flip 3 on wifi 6, which is only 573Mbps??? That is seriously lower than my tab s6 on wifi 5.
Is samsung really using a low end wifi chip on the flip 3?

Doubtful. It is a step down from the newest, but not low end (6E).
You may also want to try booting to recovery and running the option to fix apps.
This would leave another attempt at resetting network settings before a factory reset is all that is really left to try from the device side. Clearing cache hasn't been an actual option since Android 9, but you could always try clearing data for Settings if you feel the network reset may have left anything behind.
The other possibility is still incompatibility with the router.
Try clearing the system cache...
1.2gbps on my flip 3.

Good evening everyone,
I decided to look into improving speeds over wifi when remoting to my laptop(trying to play Diablo 3 from RT). I recall before February patch Tuesday that there were some issues with wifi, so I assumed that there would be no problems post patches. I decide to run some tests over speedtest.net and I noticed this drastic difference.

Router: Buffalo N300 <-link
Changed network mode(A/B/G/N). Changed channels/Channel width. Only thing I'm running into issues with is upgrading the firmware on the router(talking to buffalo about it now). Im willing to bet that I am missing/overlooking something simple as **** but I cant seem to figure it out.
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Holy ****sack, you've got 10x better download speed than I've ever had! Why does the world hate me...
Also back to the question at hand, I've also had a problem like this, even though the Surface has two network cards it's still slow, slower than other PC's in the house, I just guess this is another problem Microsoft will have to fix.

Its got a single network card with a dual tuner. Not two network cards.
As for the download speed. My home download speed is measured in kilobits per sec, I don't even get half a megabit, let alone 11.

Oh sorry, I'm sure I read that somewhere but cheers for giving me clarity. ?
I think you are right with MS needing to optimize a bit.
Another problem I notice is that being in a larger apartment building, there are a TON of networks. I will just have to do some tinkering to see what can be done.
I have to resurrect this thread as this problem, at least for me and a few fellow RT owners, still isn't solved at all. Under 8.0 as well as the 8.1 Preview and the final version the WiFi speed seems to be stuck at a maximum of 65 Mbps.
So far I tried various AP's and different settings: n-only, 2.4/5GHz, encryption disabled, channel width 20/40, etc. but all without success. Also a complete re-install of the Surface RT didnt help as well as the numerous times I have refreshed.
Hi All,
I got my Nexus 5 few hours ago (after trying out the Nexus 4 but not feeling it) and have been setting it up the way I want it, and then about 30 minutes ago its stuck on edge and i ve switched between 4g and 3g but no luck, i've restarted the device as well no luck. I have a friend who has a Nexus 4 who had this issue a while ago until it self resolved after a few days but I don think I can cope with just edge connection.
Is anyone else having this issue and what can I do to resolve this or what advice has anyone got for me.
Thanks in advance (made me realised once again why I stuck with HTC)
i have the same problem, any idea's?
Try entering *#*#4636#*#* in to the dialler, going to phone information, scrolling down and changing the network type to another one.

Does this setting persist through a reboot?
Also, I'm on Sprint and having a similar issue with being stuck on 3G. Does anyone know which setting if any will give priority to LTE? It seems the phone only operates on LTE when I choose "LTE only" which is really not what I want to set it on permanently. None of the other settings seemed to give any favorable results. Thanks all.
I think I wrote LTE a few too many times.

Hi all, I have the same problem, the dispostivo get stuck in 2g network - edge.
For me to run, switch to WCDMA only with *#*#4636#*#*
It is a very annoying bug, it has happened every 4 or 5 days.
My Nexus 5 works on EDGE or LTE, but will not switch to HSDPA any more. Software is 4.4.4 Any ideas?
I tried factory reset from recovery, still the same.
Flashing the android l radio improves o2 network reception in the uk
I tried this and it keeps changing back to the setting it had before .. Do I just back out after changing it or do I have to click something else ?
Morning All,
Silly question but one that has me foxed since I started using my Pro. Has anybody been able to carry out a proper Wi-Fi speed test as when I've tried I've never been able to get more that 5Mb d/l and 18Mb u/l in any result. My speed is 78Mb/19Mb fixed and on my other tabs 30Mb/55Mb.
Anybody know why this is so and/or if I'm doing something wrong.

I think me and you only. I have found that the day I bought it, but I thought its wifi slow by default. I am thinking about sending it to samsung for repair.
Haven't noticed any issues with mine. Here's some data.
I'm about 35ft from Tomato with no obstruction. Tomato2 and both TP-Link(2.4/5) are in a bedroom ten feet further (door closed)

I had the same slow WIFI speed with my SM-P900 when it arrived. Last week I received an OTA software update and the WIFI 5 GHz speed seems to be fixed. There was definitely something wrong with the firmware. My NotePro is much more responsive and faster with the new update. I have kernel version 3.4.39-1131235 from Sat Mar 29. Build number P900XXUANC4.
This is interesting. I have the wifi version ( tab pro) and went to Verizon to test out the snapdragon chip to see if i can see a clear difference. I logged on to Verizons same wifi that the demo was on and my tab pro did circles around it in regards to web browsing. Assume it was just the store demo bloated, etc. BUT, your comments make me wonder if some units have s;low wifi for some reason.
I also assume the tab pro 12.2 and the note 12.2 is the exact device minus the pen.

No problem with my 12.2 LTE on wifi. It got about 30Mb down, 22Mb up. My desktop (fixed) gets about 80 Mb/22Mb.
No issues with WiFi here.
Desktop (5GHz) for reference: 28.83 / 5.70 (down / up)
Note Pro (2.4GHz): 29.05 / 6.62
Note Pro (5GHz): 27.05 / 6.56
Comcast, 2pm on Sunday.
Tethered to my S4 (Verizon): 48.70 / 17.60
Sorry late in replying been busy, any way for some unknown a few days back I did a speed test and everything was back to how it should 60Mb d and 17Mb u. Still have no idea why I was only getting low results before.
Thank you all for you replies and advice.

@sheepybach same here, my wifi speed back to normal after a few days. strange!!!
makki,
It makes no sense to me 1 bit lol
I bought my S7 less than a week ago and I notice something odd happening with my mobile data connection.
When I'm using 3G (Mobilcom-debitel_Vodafone/Germany), my connection is consistently laggy. Every action that I require connection for takes a couple of seconds to be executed, if executed at all. For instance, click to download an image/audio/video/etc in whatsapp, it takes 5+ sec to start the download; open the browser, takes 5+ sec to load the page; open Deezer, takes 5+ sec to start loading the data... and so on. I notice this problem since the first time I used 3G on the phone. Everything is up-to-date and I installed the phone from scratch, app by app, no backup/transfer from other phone. On my previous S6 I didn't have this problem.
Some information that might be useful:
- I use 3G/2G (auto-connect), no LTE/3G/2G
- I'm usually with BT/Wifi/3G enabled at the same time, not necessarily connected to a device or network
- The data icon keeps the up arrow on, but the down arrow off until I actually receive data and the request is processed
- If I try to turn off the mobile data connection/put in airplane mode, it takes the same amount of time for the connection icon to disappear (5+ seconds)
Is it a known issue? Anyone with the same problem?

Just checking: you know that the phone is brand new, 2 days old, right? Just checking... Also, since the first time I went outside to use 3G I noticed the problem.
Did you have this Problem by using WiFi only?
2nd Option is run a Speedtest (Ookla) to Check the ping.

I did it already and there are no problems there, as you can see below. 3G speed on my plan is limited to 21mbps.

On a side note, I did a reset of the network settings and apparently it got better. I'm still testing it, can't say yet it's fixed, but I noted some improvement for sure.

As I posted, resetting network settings was apparently a solution, but this morning it was clear that something was still pretty odd.
I will consider starting from scratch. I'm so lazy, it takes a long while to config the whole phone again, but apparently it's worth a try.
The fact that our Nougat update got a bit late was annoying. The update was released and them feels were amazing..
However, at this point I am about [.....] < that close to throw my phone across the room... every single time I lose not only my WiFi connection but at some times even my cellulair connection...
This has never happend on either Lollipop (5.1.1) or Marshmellow (6.0.1). My phone has never been rooted and is up to date according to the last Samsung updates. I am currently running the latest 7.0 build (NRD90M.G920FXXUE5QE8), Security patch of May 1, 2017.
Some screens to show my issue:
{

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
As you can see, the first show no cellulair connection but a working WiFi...
The second shows the other way arround, no WiFi but a working cellulair connection. Both screens are taken tonight a few minutes apart.
I have tried:
- Reboot
- Wipe cache
- Forget and reenter WiFi
- Safe mode to exclude apps (but even in safe mode both connections will fail at some time)
I have performd a factory reset just after the OTA update and I haven't changed anything special within my phone, haven't installed any extra apps.. So I am a bit lost.
Anyone else with this issue?

I have the same issue. Not really sure what to do. I'm thinking of just taking it to the Samsung store and trying to get it replaced.
Did you find any solution?
Sounds like your data keeps bouncing from hspa to LTE and back. Whenever it does that it can be disconnected for more than a minute. Make sure you don't have download booster on and maybe lock connection to one type. Wcdma or gsm. Other than the usual crappy s6 signal it has been worse on mine since nougat aswell.
