Verizon took over my phone, I want to go back to stock FW - Samsung Galaxy S10e Questions & Answers

So to preface, I have the Verizon logo at boot, an error message saying "This is not a Verizon SIM" and a whole bunch of crapware that I can't get rid of. My phone is not a Verizon phone and it never was until now apparently.
I have an iPhone that I run my business with and with it I have Verizon. Yesterday there was a Verizon outage that left me without my business phone for hours however I didn't receive any notification that there was an outage from Verizon or my iPhone. I tried to contact Verizon customer service just to ask if there was an outage but their customer service is useless. Anyhow I thought I could just check to see if it was the phone by pulling the VZW sim out of my iPhone and putting it into my Galaxy S10e (T-Mobile version that I use with Ting). I put the SIM in and it asked me to reboot so I did then I tried to make a phone call and it didn't work, must be an outage. So I put the SIM back in my iPhone and all seemed normal until I check my S10e and now there's a bunch of stupid games, Verizon software that I can't get rid of, and that annoying error message. I've tried disabling the apps and uninstalling them but it appears Verizon has completely taken over my phone. I reset the phone to factory only to be met with the Verizon logo at boot and all the same crap after setup. I downloaded the stock T-Mobile ROM for my phone and installed it with ODIN and it still thinks it's a Verizon phone. I am beyond frustrated and I need help.

Do it again, but this time be sure to UNcheck both Auto Restart and F. Reset Time under the Options tab in Odin. It may also help if you can boot into Android Recovery immediately after Odin shows the green success indication. The idea is to keep from rebooting into the old system right away. We used to be able to quickly pull the battery, but with S10e you'd have to somehow open the back and flip the battery connector ribbon out from its socket. Unchecking the 2 boxes might be enough. If not, try once again. Upon seeing the green indication, unplug cable and do buttons presses to boot recovery. New system should boot from there.

Thank you so much! I will give that a try!

how not to update a rom

i was updating my vibrant phone in kies and i thought the file was still being downloaded when i received a call.
i took the call and got off as soon as possible.
when the installation finished it started to reboot but never made it and i have not been able to get any kind of start-up screen at all.
i am totally bricked.
before the update i was able to get into download mode but no more.
no two button or three button combos work.
i am leaving the battery out all night and will try again tomorrow but i am not hopeful.
moral of the story is take out the damn sim card when updating so as not to screw up the download.
sigh.
anyone have any ideas what to do with the boat anchor besides trying to talk t-mobile into taking it back.

Phone does not work with sim inserted?

okay, So i searched and apparently I am the only one with this problem happening.
Last night my phone went nut's, it would not turn on, reset or anything! So i contacted ATT and they keep telling me its the battery, 3 tech support agent's and they still told me it was the battery and i should go to the Support Center which is a bit out of my way. So i called the support center to see if I could get a replacement from them, They dont carry Cellphones apparently (yea -.-)
My problem:
The phone without a SIM card works.
The phone with the SIM Card, shuts itself off and either refuses to start, or constantly restarts itself.
I've tried:
- Re-installing Android (through the hard button reset)
- OTA Updating through settings (without the simcard)
- Manually updating through the PC (kept telling me I had less than 30% battery.)
Anyone help me!?
ATT is going to take 5-7 day's to give me my phone, and frankly.. Being without a phone is the worse thing for me (im trying to get a new job, so no phone is a big problem - on top of it being my alarm clock for my current job)
If you really cant wait for the new phone then maybe you could try taking it to an ATT shop and getting a new sim card. Although I dont really see how a sim card could cause this but I guess its worth a shot.
Second for the SIM card. I had a friend whose phone would randomly restart. When he changed the SIM, all was well. Occam's razor, my friend.
Sent from my HTC One X
I went to the local ATT Store for a sim swap, and the phone worked perfect in the store, Got home and it crashed.. Now it wont even turn on with the SIM in.
Are you rooted? You could try changing roms or flashing a new radio+ril. I have no idea if any of that will fix it but you never know
Nope, it's not rooted, I thought about it, but the phone wont even connect/charge now :/
I guess It's not happening to any of you? :/
-P.S. The SIM Card actually worked, then cut out :/ lol. HTC Is telling me its the SIM Card Reader in the phone :/
Thats a bummer! I guess you just have to wait until your new one comes in if it is the sim reader
Have u run a ruu? I would most certainly do that before send it in or anything. Only takes 10-15 mins

I'm pretty sure AT&T can send you a spare/replacement or whatever and you use the same box to send your HOX so you're not phone less. I haven't tried it but others have.

[Q] Cant get to DL or recovery modes but phone bootloops on homescreen

At the gym the other day i looked down at my phone, and it seemed to be turned off for some reason. This is the state its in now:
1. The phone is not responsive on battery, and the battery is fully charged.
2. Upon plugging the phone in to power, it has the charging animation.
3. When trying to go in to either dowbload or recovery modes, the respective preliminary screens show up, then the phone bootloops.
4. When booting normally (under power), everything seems normal and it can get to the lock screen. Then sometimes i can pull down the notification bar and go to settings, but other times it randomly bootloops. If i pull out the power, it turns off.
5. This is a replacement phone from verizon about two weeks ago. The last one had bad screen burn in.
Im rooted and unlocked and i was running jellybeans v19 ROM.
Im in Germany right now on a Vodafone prepaid SIM. When putting the Verizon SIM back in, the same things happen.
UPDATE 12/23/2013:
1. I was able to get into Recovery by quickly pressing reboot and reboot into recovery. From here I could get into Download Mode.
2. I first cleared my Dalvik & Cache and reflashed JellyBeans v19, then cleared Dalvik & Cache again. This did no solve any problems.
3. Next I flashed the Stock VRBMF1 Firmware through Odin, which also did not solve any problems.
4. Now I am downloading Root66 and following Hero's guide to unbricking a soft-bricked device.

Weird...
My first guess is something software related, I'd start by going back to stock mf1 or mb1 in this case and seeing if you can reproduce the problems. Just don't take the 4.3 update or you'll lock your bootloader.
If that doesn't work, then something is wrong with the phone, and it almost sounds like a bad power button but with some weird other symptoms. I'd send it back to Verizon to get another one of its still acting up.

Ill probably send it Verizon when i get back to the states, but I was wondering if i could do anything in the mean time.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Froze- Data Recovery?

Hi,
I have a problem with my Galaxy SIII. It is from Virgin Mobile..
I uploaded a new software update- I tried avoiding this bc the last time I did, my phones battery was horrible and GPS did not work for a better part of a week. However, the upload message would not stop after two weeks, and it would drop my calls when it was giving me the notice/and or trying, it would also knock me off internet. So I did. However, my battery started to go to crap, at 20% it would shut the phone off, later for me to come home, plug it into a charger to be at 30% not 20%. I found that odd. However, it requested again without remorse, almost 30% calls were interrpted and I thought maybe this "Update again" might fix the problems. Nope, my suspicions became true. I seen my phone with the little droid guy and it uploading. However, when I got back to the phone, it was stuck on a Samsung screen. I can power the device on and off, it will go through the motions if you will, but soon as it hits the Samsung title cannot boot past it. To note when doing the " Software Update"- I had my phone on a charger. So cannot boot past Samsung screen and it freezes there.
I can go into Safe Mode if I use the buttons manually. However, I cannot restart the phone in safe mode. A Samsung guy mentioned that there might be a way to manually type commands in safe mode- the ownly thing my phone might be still good for- using a software that would recognize the device and save info onto an SD card before flashing. He found this out by typing a google search, I tried and cannot find it. He stated the data is probably still ok without a flash. However, how did I get data out of this before a flash lol? Any ideas?

Phone got stuck in a boot loop but is now powered off, not sure what to do now

I have only had it for about 16 months now. It is a MetroPCS GS7 so it's a T-Mobile variant if that matters. Never been rooted or modified in a similar way. The same thing happened with my previous phone, a GS4 which never got fixed. I was just using a video downloader app when it suddenly restarted. It only shows the first screen for about 5 seconds then restarts. I have some experience using ODIN and flashing ROMs but I don't know what I should try with a GS7.
After a few tries to get it into recovery, this is what happened. The blue recovery message in the top left showed up but I didn't let go of the buttons this time. Then this rotating white circle showed up and said something like "applying system update". After about 20 seconds then I got a screen with the dead android and it said "no command" below it. Then I don't know what happened but then suddenly the recovery menu showed up. So I picked to just power off so it is just turned off now and no longer in a boot loop. I don't know what to do from here. I won't turn it back on until I get advice on what to do next.
If you just want to fix it without worrying about losing data, see if you can get it onto download mode and full a full stock flash with all 4 firmware files in Odin.
If anything is corrupt, Odin should give you an error message which might be enough of a clue as to where to look next.
OK so I flashed it once and it didn't work, it was still stuck. After that I just gave up on keeping anything and wiped all data. I flashed it a second time and it still got stuck, but after about 10 restarts it finally worked. However it is now on the T-Mobile firmware instead of the Metro PCS one and also I am having weird problems now. I would like to go back to the Metro PCS however I cannot find any firmware for a G930T other than T-Mobile. The problems I have experienced so far is the auto brightness does not work anymore, I have to manually set brightness even when it is switched on, the screen turns on for a few seconds when it's done charging now, and also I restarted my phone to fix an app and then it got stuck in a loop again. It took 10 restarts then worked again, but that is still a problem. I don't even know if I should still be wasting my time trying to fix this. I really don't want to buy a new phone right now but I also feel hopeless in fixing this one.
