Hi, I rooted my Kendo M7 a while back, but the App Market has stopped working. I tried a fix (clearing some caches), but it didn't fix the problem so I want to re-root it. Problem is, all references to the img file and root installer program seem to return 404s or are lost with the downfall of megaupload. Does anyone have the image file saved to thier PC perhaps?
Thanks.
After flashing stock ROM on my Moto G I was not able to use Wi-Fi, it does not turn on. So I tried some other ROMS from various countries and nothing. However when I flashed the Nexus G - beta 4 custom ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2606943) I got it working again.
Can someone please explain what is happening, and help me?

Solved
So, I got it working again. The problem was indeed in the persist folder, it was missing a file named WCNSS_qcom_wlan_factory_nv.bin. So I managed to extract it from the persist.img and moved it to persist folder again. After that I edited the bin file and inserted my MAC address. Finally I have flashed my phone to stock ROM again and it worked just fine.
Here's the file:
fixed
Thank you so much this fixed my problem as well
Ok. Let's try but first let me e sure how to do it.
1. Edit persist.img with the .bin file inside.
2. Installl stock rom on my phone.
3. Flash persist.img in fastboot mode.
It's that correct?

First of all check if your persist folder is missing the bin file I have mentioned. If it is, You have to extract that file from persist.img or You can just download the one I uploaded. Then you must edit it and insert your mac address and after that you just have move it to the persist folder using a root explorer.
I could not flash persist.img, bootloader was always returning an access denied message, so i figured a way to explore the persist.img file using LinuxReader and extracted the WCNSS_qcom_wlan_factory_nv.bin from it.
So basically i ''flashed'' persist manually. Copy, edit, paste.
Thanks
Fixed
I have 2 days searching the solution and try with so many files.
Thanks
Please, could someone explain me exactly (for n00b like me) how to solve this problem?
Solved

Hi guys,

When i go in switzerland and i try to connect to another wi fi net (my girlfriend's line) provided by Swisscom, it doesn't work: well, i insert passoword, but it cant connect ... i called Swisscom, they tried to reset router and so on , but still persist this problem. The person (swiss) that sells me the phone (i bought it as used) said that he has the swiss provider Cablecom and it didn't have any problem. I'm fully stock with 4.4.2 . Anyone has any idea? thank you
ps: with my galaxy s3 i have no problem both in italy and in switzerland
Can anyone help in explaining the above?
....to a relative newbie? I've downgraded from 4.4.2 down to 4.3 and now my wi-fi is not working anymore, the MAC address is lost.
I'd really, really appreciate any help with regards to the procedure in going about fixing the 'Persist Folder' .
Thank you for reading.
Please make any method to solve Persist folder

I'm sorry, but can you please elaborate? I'm have this wifi issue and it's really annoying.
You say to extract the file from persist.img, but where exactly do I find that? The file you uploaded is not persist.img.
How would I edit and insert my mac address?
Where is this persist folder? I can't find it anywhere.
If you could respond that'd be great.

You'll find persist folder at /persist.
You need filemanger with root permission, the you can see this folder.
So copy WCNSS_qcom_wlan_factory_nv.bin to your SD card. Use your filemanger to copy this file to /persist.
Activate wi-fi, the you'll find your mac adress under Settings > About Phone > Status > Wi-fi MAC Adress
Open WCNSS_qcom_wlan_factory_nv.bin on your phone with a text editor and type your mac adress inside that file and save it.
I have not tried it because i did not have this issue. But this is the way how i understood it.
simply copied the file in /persist, set permissions and rebooted
No MAC adress to enter
Works fine now
Thanks, very much!
You resolved me
Only its the put the WCNSS in the /persist folder and OK.
(You need to have the firmware with /persist).

My only way of doing was installing the CyanogenMod ROM 11, it comes with a good File Manager and Super User permissions. Thus unable to find the folder and the file inside it.
I just connected the phone to PC and put the file inside it .. Then I went to the manager .. I released Super User options .. I marked the file in the main folder .. I went to the Root Folder .. After I entered "/ persist ".. pasted the file inside it .. I took a reset through the normal system settings and when he returned was already running again.
I hope it helps those who do not understand very well, just like me.
Below is the picture of how I found the folder. PS. The file is already there because I put.
Sorry for the english guys, i'm from Brazil. Google Translator!
Hello! I need some genius to find solution for my problem , my phone (Intex Aqua i-5) doesn't recognize any SIM Card and my IMEI is empty. The problem occurred when I flashed wrong recovery, somehow I got it working again by removing battery for 15 minutes, and holding power key for a minute before that, then flashed proper CWM recovery again via MobileUncle Tool., but now phone doesn't charge when its turned off, and doesn't recognize SIM. Everything else works fine.
This is IMPORTANT: Cant recover IMEI via PC (my usb port is broken (charging part is working but cant connect to PC, pins for data transfer are damaged). So IT'S NOT AN OPTION. But can transfer files from PC to Phone - Wifi transfer.
Need to recover IMEI trough phone! (there is numerous methods I've tried, gonna list them below)
- Engineer mode, - CDS info, Radio info, AT COMMAND - AT+EGMR=1,7,"1234567890XXX15" (tried variations with empty space before AT or before + , not working, gives me an error "AT command failed at sent ".
- Tried to generate original IMEI on the computer, write it to MP0B_001 file, transfer to phone, set permissions for it, transfer it to data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI and replace file at destination with custom one (tried variations: all this but at the and making IMEI backup with MobileUncle Tools and restoring it, also tried different MP0B_001 generators, different permissions, tried deleting original file in NVD_IMEI folder first, then copying new one, etc). --- NO SUCCESS.
- Tried MTK65xx apk software for changing IMEI , NO SUCCESS. - got error msg: "pttycmd1 device NOT found!"
- Installing terminal emulator , writing for SIM 1 line of code: echo ‘AT+EGMR=1,7, “IMEI_NUMBER” ‘ >/dev/pttycmd1 and for SIM 2 this line: echo ‘AT+EGMR=1,10, “IMEI_NUMBER” ‘ >/dev/pttycmd1 - nothing happens , even after reboot..
I'm not allowed to post links for methods above, cause this is my first thread .
My phone is rooted, there is custom ROM on it. (MIUI V5 FOR INTEX AQUA I-5 ). And CWM recovery for this ROM.
Have backup of my STOCK ROM, but couldn't restore it via CWM, It is corrupted or something, but have original folders in it , NVRAM folder for example. (tried coping and flashing MP0B_001 from that folder to phone, but nothing).
Any other ideas guys?
Unless you find what file you need to overwrite. There is not much help any one can offer as editing the IMEI is illegal in many places so that the only approved way is restoring a backup with is hard to do in your case without a pc connection as those files will need to be flashed.

Thank you for your quick reply. I'm just looking the way to restore or flash my origina IMEI , which is written under my battery, or from my probably damaged backup. Pretty sure restoring original IMEI is not illegal and I'm aware that those files need to be flashed, but maybe someone knows how to flash it without usb connection, with CWM, MobileUncle etc..

It depends on the country and the laws. If you already know it needs to be flashed then all you have to do is get the files from the backup (hope it's not coruppted) and then make a zip to flash in recovery. There is not alot of development done with that chip set here so I am out of ideas.
Figured out why my nandorid backup cant be restored, and gives an error "error while flashing boot image". When I made a backup there was no boot.img file in it. (as you cant see below in log file) So I added a file from only stock rom found on the net (that stock Is not made for cwm and cant be flashed via cwm, just via SP Flash Too so I cannot use it). but my logic was that I can borrow missing boot.img and put it in my backup folder). So obviously its not solution.

But after this there is no boot.img at all in backed up files as you can see.

----rwxr-x 1 553781248 Dec 8 02:19 system.ext4.tar"
Why I dont have file boot.img in my backup and how can i fix it? :/
Someone said that I make another backup via cwm and keep just boot.img in it, then copy my old files in that new created folder , but i doubt it will work cause Im on custom ROM now (MIUI) and i want to restore stock (Andorid 4.2.1).
I started another thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/stock-rom-intex-aqua-5-t3007603 in hope someone will upload stock ROM for my phone that is flashable with cwm.
Hello there,
My first post here. It is a big forum, so I have to find my way.
Hope you can help me.
Some info:
My device is a Huawei Y550 L01.
The bootloader is unlocked and my device is rooted.
It ran Android KitKat 4.4.4 but I did install cyanogenmod 11 and it looked great.
Problems began when I installed a new boot-theme. It was booting over and over again with the new boot-theme. (bootloop).
I did several things: try to recover the back-up, try to re-install cyanogenmod 11, wiped cache, dalvik cache, system etc. Nothing worked so far. I think my phone is bricked now.
It now only boots in twrp.
So I read the thread of Dimspace:
IVE BRICKED MY PHONE!
Download the full Huawei Y550 rom from Here (You want the penultimate file - y550 build 239
Download the Huawei update extractor from the same link
Run update extractor and extract the rom
Copy the entire folder "dload" to the root of your sdcard (so there is a folder on your sd card called dload containing the update file)
Hold down all physical buttons on your phone - volume up, volume down and power at once
Click to collapse
Info is very helpful :good:, but I am not sure what to do. I think I have to install the full Huawei Y550 Rom, like described above, but do not know exactly how. I downloaded the Huawei update extractor and the Y550 rom (think I need the build 246 version instead of the 239).
My question is:
- any others solutions in how to get my device working again?
- do I need to extract the Update.app file, which is in the Huawei Y550 rom, before putting it in the dload folder of my sd-card?
I can see the files with the Huawei update extractor. Do I have to extract those files and afterwards transfer the files (in the dload folder) to the sd-card?

Solved this problem, after reading the thread "Everything Huawei Y550". There is a lot of information.
Here is what I did:
I downloaded the stock rom (build 246) to my pc. Extracted it and copied the dload folder with the update app to my sd-card: I extracted only the folder, not the update.app. Then did a forced update by holding both volume buttond and the power-on button. Released the power button after the huawei logo was coming up and after i saw the progression bar (for installing the rom) i released the volume buttons. Worked very good, thanks to the people in the "Everything Huawei Y550" forum.
