Dolphin and 2.2 - Auto-closes?

Is it just me or do Dolphin and Dolphin HD both auto-close immediately when trying to do something?
Anyone have an older version that works?

Yep, its not compatible. Give it some time, the dev's will fix it soon I'm sure.

Damn, I'm coming from Desire and I loved the browser on there.
I can not STAND having the status bar visible while browsing websites.
Is there a way to hide it?

Does anyone have an older version of Dolphin Browser that works on 2.2?

if the newer versions dont work, the older ones will probably be the same and not work.

i wiped going to froyo and use the HD version i only get closes when i hit the search button or url bar so its slow going but you can use it to go places

the main dolphin page (the start page that auto opens after a hard close) has a google search bar
or you can set your homepage to google

Browser with Quick Controls on 4.4?

Hello,
Does anyone know of a browser with quick controls that will work on Kitkat? I'm not rooted. I'd love to use AOSP browser on my Moto X but the workaround I found only works for 4.3.

You can download 'android browser' from the play store. has quick controls and is AOSP as far as I can tell.. I'm on 4.4 and it works fine for me. I am rooted but I dont think it requires root.

Sorry for the thread revive - but I can't seem to fine "Android Browser" on Play. Has it been removed?
My tablet just upgraded to KK and I've lost my favorite JB compatible browser with Quick Controls. Looking for an alternative if there is one - any current ideas?

I ended up using Dolphin Browser. Although it doesn't have quick controls it allows for quick access to bookmarks by swiping from the left side of the screen. Dolphin is OK although it tends to lose connectivity over Wifi.
I have Android Browser on my Nexus 5 which does have quick controls but unfortunately there's no bookmark sync yet.

I had yesterday flashed cloudy Flex 2.2 (4.4.2) on my LG G2, ...when I saw that the Android Browser doesn't work, I'm gone back to 4.2.2...:fingers-crossed: WITHOUT ANDROID BROWSER ??? Not with ME!

Try Lightning Browser or Javelin Browser if you want quick access to bookmarks.

Thanks! Downloaded both. Do either of these allow you to sync with chrome bookmarks? I do like that feature of dolphins.

Not that I know of, sorry. Usually I use Chrome itself when i need to grab a bookmark from my desktop.

[Q] Google chrome glitch?

Has anyone experienced this on Google Chrome?? And if so, how do you fix this?? Here is a link to the screenshot:

That happens on mine as well. Refreshing works occasionally. If not, I just hit options and then check "Request desktop site." Kind of a pain, but it fixes it. I'm not sure if Tapatalk works since I don't use it, but might be worth a shot if you browse a lot.

I figured that out already but thanks. I was just wondering if there was a fix for it.

It usually fixes itself a few seconds after the website has loaded completely. I don't know what triggers the fix though - I just scroll a little here and there and all of a sudden it becomes normal.

Yeah, that's been my experience. Interestingly, XDA has been the only site where I've had this happen. I'll try switching orientation and see what that does for me.

I use Maxthon HD for browsing/posting text. Ii is the BEST.
Yet it has editing bugs that Chrome does not have. Chrome does full xda editing/uploading with no problems. But Maxthon HD is THE BEST FORUM BROWSER EVER!

Gravitybox can change so many things it can do wonders but can also be a pain.

Use a video player that supports portrait viewing as well and done? :good: (I don't use Twitter but did install other player for this reason as well).

Anyone else experiencing slight judder or lag?

Love the phone, but for a company to tout its performance I'd expect a buttery smooth experience. However, this is not the case. I occasionally experience a slight lag or judder while moving across screens, opening apps, opening folders, etc. I don't know if this is due to 7.0 nougat as I have heard some stories of its inefficiencies which is why its updated to 7.1 now, but I do hope that when it does get updated to 7.1 in Feb this will go away. Anyone else experiencing this?

I noticed a small lag when opening folders, so I downloaded the Google now launcher and the folder lag is gone. I also have my animations turned down to .5 seconds in developer settings.

Are you talking primarily Huawei launcher?
I personally use Nova or Google Launcher(when i can change dpi) without issue.
I was just thinking the other day, the phone is stupid smooth and figured I would have experience some type of lag. Only lag I encounter is with Chrome browser but Im the type with 99(smiley face) tabs running.

Yes, I was talking about the Huawei Launcher having a slight lag at times when opening folders. It's not bad and not consistent, but it does happen at times. The Google now launcher is butter.

I dont know if it would work but one of the first things I do is turn animations to .25/.5 under devolper options. Worth a shot if you want to stick with Huawei launcher.

Yeah I already did that too. It helps for sure. Another thing...In developer settings, right under the Window and Transition animation scale settings, there is a setting called "smallest width" that you can use to change the screen density. The higher the number, the smaller everything gets (opposite from changing the screen density in the build prop). Anyways, when I change this to my liking, the Huawei Launcher gets very choppy, but the Google now launcher is very smooth. So that's another reason to use the Google launcher or Nova.

The issue is the twin app do not work with 3rd party launchers....

I have massive scroll lag when using Google Play Games but that's it. Everything else namely the UI eye candy is buttery smooth.

I have absolutely no lag when scrolling in Google Play games.
The Mate 9 I had before this one did have lag, but I sent the it back due to GPS problems.

I like to keep my display size on large and set the value in developer settings to 500. This keeps the navigation buttons bigger and more spread out. If I set the display to small and then adjust the value, my nav buttons get really small and very close together.

Keyboard seems to be non-responsive from time to time. I have noticed this accross multiple apps, inclusive of chrome. Have to back out and click the input area of the apps/browser for the keyboard to work again.

First number I tried was 500. Will test when I get back home Monday.

I don't need root now, and with the lower dpi Google now doesn't look disgusting.

Changing the animation speeds in developer options makes a big difference along with the width settings.

I always have a scrolling lag in Appstore irrespective of the launcher I am using. Fine everywhere else
