a long time ago I made a Google account and put as verification a number which I no longer have access to, if I'm not mistaken it was Oi or Tim. I need the email, but I don't have the number or the device used to create the account anymore, I changed my city and with that I also changed my broadband and I really need to use it. I wanted to know what procedure I can take so I can recover the same
The bold type doesn't help my disposition or empathy... contact Google.
Agreed, your best option is to contact Google. We can't really do much to recover Google accounts.

Hi,
Im using a Samsung I9000 and when Im saving a new contact the phone always asks where it have to be saved:
Phone
Sim Card
gmail account
youtube account
Im few new to android and I tough every contact on my phone is also on my gamil account is this right?
When Im selecting phone will this contac be synced with gmail or not?
Actually, you can choose to save your contact in one of several different "places". For instance, if you use Gmail for contact management, you would save your contacts to Google contact type.
However, there are many other information management applications and sites. Many people use Outlook or another computer based PIM application, and use that to sync contacts to the phone. These would be put in the Phone contact type.
Since you are using a GSM based phone, you can also save new contacts as a SIM contact type. Note that SIM contact types have some limitations compared to the others as far as how many phone numbers, email addresses, etc. can be saved per contact.
You say you are new to Android, but is this your first smart phone? In other words, how did you get your contacts on the phone in the first place, or are you just adding them now?
If this is your first smart phone and you are just adding the contacts, as long as you are ok with Google having all that information, then save them as a Google contact type. The point of that is so if you loose your phone, or it is damaged or otherwise, you still have the data backed up and can get it to another phone. In fact, if you are using Gmail to manage your contacts, just log into Gmail on a computer and enter all the contacts that way. It will be easier and faster and they will sync to your phone automatically.
Hi,
thank you very very much you helped me a lot!!!
This isnt my fist smart phon, before I had many many WM Phones and synced with outlook which I would prefer but as I bought my i9000 they told me it wont work and I ve to transfer my contacts to google to get them synced...
I think Ill switch back from that because I dont like to hafe google my contacs and if it works with outlook its much easier for me!
Thanks a lot
Does anyone know what information I need to set up my work email through my phone. My IT guy says he can do it but they need to take my phone and "do something to it" I don't know what that means but I don't want my company to have access to my private information. Any help would be great. Thanks.

They generally take phone to set up the needed certificates and encryption, based on the respective company policies. It would be best to delete ur personal info when u give to them. You could always set up ur personal data later.

If your company is an Exchange shop, you need your domain, username, password and exchange ActiveSync URL (usually your webmail URL). If your company uses client certs, then he would have to install that - but it is unlikely.
If you sync your Exchange email, your company has the ability to do remote wipe and enforce an unlock PIN.
If you do setup mobile sync yourself, they can see it and if they want they could turn it off or remote wipe - keep that in mind when going around IT. Your best bet, is to clear off anything you find personal - let them set things up, and put your stuff back on. The IT guy, should be able to set thing up in 5 minutes at your desk.
Thanks for the reply. We use lotus notes. I have no idea what type of system that is.
For Lotus Notes, they may have POP or IMAP set up - then it is like setting a normal email account for your personal use - you need server name, login name, password. If you can also sync calendar and contacts, they probably have a companionlink license - it is the only app i know off that syncs everything with Notes. If you want this, you need to let IT do their magic - either way, you probably should talk to the IT guys and find out what method they use.
Thanks I will.
Because of the stupid limitation of not being able to change the Live ID login details, I was wondering if there is a reg hack to change the email address the live id has on the phone.
I have not created a new live id, just simply change the default email address on my existing one. So all the data will be the same, but I don’t want to hard reset the phone and lose all my SMS etc.
Thanks in advance.

I suspect there is no easy reg hack for this since the first account that was added is deeply entrenched within many components... marketplace, xboxlive, etc.
Did you try to add the new live account and see if the option to delete the first one becomes available when there are 2 live IDs?
Yes, unfortunately it treats the first one in a special way, only giving you the option to not sync email. Any additional accounts are treated just like a normal exchange account with Contact, Task and Calendar all options.
Looks like a hard reset is the only way.
Is there an easy way to backup text messages in Mango?
A quick slightly off topic question.
If I were to hard reset my phone, what would happen with my phone being unlocked? Would I have to do anything after the hard reset?
I would imagine so, but am unsure...
Hello group hope you can help me with this most recent conundrum I am what I considered to be a power user but not anywhere near the level of developer I know my way around my phone and that's about it I have basic networking skills. Recently I noticed a few charges on one or two of my accounts such as venmo or cash app those charges quickly escalated to other charges on virtually every single payment platform that I am signed into I'm embarrassed to say it but whoever hacked me got me and I'm positive that it came through my Android phone based on the activity on my Gmail accounts my question is this how can I definitely unequivocally find the footprints in my phone through logcat viewer and or how can I guarantee that they will not be transferred to my new phone once I transfer apps
this sounds like a simple stolen password / email scenario.
Change your passwords for every account you have, use different ones for each or better: a password manager like keepassxc - is gud.
database leaks happen quite often and that's why we use different passwords and 2fa for each of our accounts, if you think this isn't just a stolen identity case and you are woried about it, create a new google identity using a new email ( remember the password manager! ) on your new phone, download all your apps from trusted sources and discard all accounts creating new ones (if you have money/sensitive data, transfer it in the safes possible manor) and do a factory reset on your old device for good measure

yeah, nuke everything you had and make a new online presance.
I can't say what happened as it sounds like a data breach, but there's some h4xx0r elements there too.
stay safe! Use a password manager and 2fa!

I need to know is there any way/app/program that I can back up ALL of my stuff on my Motorola g6 Play, without having to specifically use google or my google acct in any way, so I can transfer to my new Motorola G Power...
Backstory & Details quick history...
Jan 2022 my google acct was hacked. Google never sent me notification until after they had already changed my recovery info & put 2-factor, etc. I have tried EVERY thing I've came across to possibly work, to no avail. Google made it very clear they care less if ppl w/an acct 10+ years, who can verify every single detail abbout their acct, get hacked or not, even when there is online visa card $ sitting in the email folders. In fact they roll out the red carpet for the foreigner hackers (apparently wasnt too pro because the hacker forgot to sign me out of all browsers. I jumped on my 2nd pc browser, accessed acct for a few minutes including have a screenshot of what they used as a verification phone, in isreal, the recovery email they changed it to, & more. However when I tried to change my recovery info back, it wanted my new password. About 3 hours later they realized & logged me out.) & dont care to let you into your acct. [sorry for rant - touchy subject, lol]
I never put another google acct on the phone, I just cant sign in my google anywhere. My data is apparently saved locally, because its still on phone just as always.
I just got a new motorola g power for Christmas. Of course since I still havent regained access to my original acct, I know I'll have to use another acct to set it up. HOWEVER, I desperately need to save/transfer all my data from my current phone (with the non-accessible hacked acct) to new one. Obviously cant backup to anything that makes me login my acct such as my google drive, etc.
Is there ANY program or app that would backup everything, & then let me restore it on my new phone w/new google acct???

Without root and an external SD card....no. Apps such as Swift Backup or TItanium Backup can back up all user apps, but because of SELinux and scoped storage, what data a particular app can access is very limited - only certain system data (call logs, texts, etc) and common data (internal/external storage) is accessible; an app cannot access other apps' private information.
The only way to get around this is root.
However, you may be able to login to a new Google account on your existing phone, log out of the old one, and set the new account to be used for sync; once your information is backed up to the new account, you can then login on the new device, and transfer most of your data.
Keep in mind that this still won't transfer app data - while it will restore the apps you have installed, it can't transfer app data from the old phone.
