Back up android data (on old/current phone) w/o logging in to google acct on old phone - General Questions and Answers

I need to know is there any way/app/program that I can back up ALL of my stuff on my Motorola g6 Play, without having to specifically use google or my google acct in any way, so I can transfer to my new Motorola G Power...
Backstory & Details quick history...
Jan 2022 my google acct was hacked. Google never sent me notification until after they had already changed my recovery info & put 2-factor, etc. I have tried EVERY thing I've came across to possibly work, to no avail. Google made it very clear they care less if ppl w/an acct 10+ years, who can verify every single detail abbout their acct, get hacked or not, even when there is online visa card $ sitting in the email folders. In fact they roll out the red carpet for the foreigner hackers (apparently wasnt too pro because the hacker forgot to sign me out of all browsers. I jumped on my 2nd pc browser, accessed acct for a few minutes including have a screenshot of what they used as a verification phone, in isreal, the recovery email they changed it to, & more. However when I tried to change my recovery info back, it wanted my new password. About 3 hours later they realized & logged me out.) & dont care to let you into your acct. [sorry for rant - touchy subject, lol]
I never put another google acct on the phone, I just cant sign in my google anywhere. My data is apparently saved locally, because its still on phone just as always.
I just got a new motorola g power for Christmas. Of course since I still havent regained access to my original acct, I know I'll have to use another acct to set it up. HOWEVER, I desperately need to save/transfer all my data from my current phone (with the non-accessible hacked acct) to new one. Obviously cant backup to anything that makes me login my acct such as my google drive, etc.
Is there ANY program or app that would backup everything, & then let me restore it on my new phone w/new google acct???

Without root and an external SD card....no. Apps such as Swift Backup or TItanium Backup can back up all user apps, but because of SELinux and scoped storage, what data a particular app can access is very limited - only certain system data (call logs, texts, etc) and common data (internal/external storage) is accessible; an app cannot access other apps' private information.
The only way to get around this is root.
However, you may be able to login to a new Google account on your existing phone, log out of the old one, and set the new account to be used for sync; once your information is backed up to the new account, you can then login on the new device, and transfer most of your data.
Keep in mind that this still won't transfer app data - while it will restore the apps you have installed, it can't transfer app data from the old phone.

[Resolved] [Q] HELP>Cant acces Android Market / Google account anymore

hi,
i did a firmware reset and now i cant access my old google account anymore. i know the email / pwd to log in but it doesnt work. i even tried to do the recovery thing from google but when i enter the email google says that email account doesnt exist!? i signed my google account up thru the android first startup thingy wizard and selected my email and im 90% sure i got the correct one. i never used it outside of my smartphone it just sat in the background all the time.
so i got a full titanium backup pro backup and a full CWM backup on my hdd. is there anywhere in the .properties files where i can check my old login credentials?
any other methods of reclaiming my google account?
i got paid apps and a registered CC on there.
thanks in advance,
vax
EDIT: holy **** CWM backup saved my ass. its awesome that it does a whole system image like acronis.

Is there a portable password manager that can also log into my computer?

Hello,
I was wondering if there is a password manager out there which can be stored on a flashdrive so that I can plug it in to log into my PC among other applications and websites?
I have never used a password manager before, and since recent scandals involving password theft, I feel like a lot of people are posting about the benefits of a password manager, so I felt I should try a password manager as well. I want to go the whole nine yards though. I want an immersive experience to REALLY get a feel of whether or not I will use a password manager, so I want to change everything, including my google password and Microsoft password, and let my password manager handle keeping them.
However, my Microsoft password is linked to my PC, so my computer password changes when my Microsoft account password changes. If I change it to some randomly generated strong password I would not remember it and would depend entirely on the password manager, which is why I want to know if there is a portable application that can log into my PC for me as well.
Also, my google account is linked to my phone, and it keeps record of my call history, text messages, and contacts. These are things I want to be retained whenever I get a new phone, factory reset my current phone, or clean install a custom ROM, so is there a password manager that handles this as well? The problem with apps is the fact that we need Google Play Store to download and install them officially, and we need a google account to access Google Play Store. I know that I can sideload an apk from my computer to my phone, but let's say I get a new phone at Best Buy and just CAN'T wait to get home and start using it. When I boot up it'll ask for my Google account so it can restore my contacts at the very least, but I'd be dependent on my password manager and will not be able to login without it. Is there something I can do that will allow me to login immediately upon turning on this shiny new device?
I've tried Dashlane, they don't have a remedy for the things above, and it seems like most password managers do not. On top of Dashlane's android overlay doesn't pop up when adding a google account, whether it just be for gmail or other google services. I am pretty sure that my request is a stretch, and if so, I'll probably just continue to manually type in my own passwords, but I figured I'd ask and see if anyone knew of an app that might do what I want or is migrating in that direction.
Thanks,
Weilun

Can I manually retrieve data from Google Drive Android phone backup (to PC) ?

Scenario: My Galaxy S8 died completely about a month ago, I got an iPhone - still getting used to it, spent incredible amount of time tuning and tweaking the settings.
Today I've noticed I still have the backup from my Galaxy S8 in my Google Drive account and it seems I still should be able to import that data to my new phone. There are some valuable information for me, especially contacts (in call history, not synced with Google), text messages, whatsapp messages etc.
I however don't have another Android phone to sync it and then somehow export it, also I probably won't be able to do it on my iPhone - I am logged in to that account but somehow can't find a way to import such data. (All of my Google synced contacts for example got imported automatically, but not the rest).
Is there a way to somehow manually download that backup data from Google Drive to PC and "unpack" it?
Thanks.

This might help if you can use the import option to import your backup directly from Google drive then transfer it to iOS. Or maybe you can transfer the backup from Google drive then use 7zip or similar software to extract the backup into its separate parts and import/transfer them from your PC to iOS.

The various tools in that software may help you but you may not be able to do it all in with "one shot", you may have to attack from different angles using more than one option, function or tool provided by this software.
Or, another possible option is to install an android emulator on your PC, install Android in it, then sign into your Google account in the android running in the emulator, restore the backup from Google drive in the Android running in the emulator then see if you can transfer the data from the emulated android to iOS
@TinoArts
take note that whenever you backup Android phone to Google, all your data is safely stored in an encrypted backup file over your Google Drive account.

Hacked for sure!!!

Hello group hope you can help me with this most recent conundrum I am what I considered to be a power user but not anywhere near the level of developer I know my way around my phone and that's about it I have basic networking skills. Recently I noticed a few charges on one or two of my accounts such as venmo or cash app those charges quickly escalated to other charges on virtually every single payment platform that I am signed into I'm embarrassed to say it but whoever hacked me got me and I'm positive that it came through my Android phone based on the activity on my Gmail accounts my question is this how can I definitely unequivocally find the footprints in my phone through logcat viewer and or how can I guarantee that they will not be transferred to my new phone once I transfer apps
this sounds like a simple stolen password / email scenario.
Change your passwords for every account you have, use different ones for each or better: a password manager like keepassxc - is gud.
database leaks happen quite often and that's why we use different passwords and 2fa for each of our accounts, if you think this isn't just a stolen identity case and you are woried about it, create a new google identity using a new email ( remember the password manager! ) on your new phone, download all your apps from trusted sources and discard all accounts creating new ones (if you have money/sensitive data, transfer it in the safes possible manor) and do a factory reset on your old device for good measure

yeah, nuke everything you had and make a new online presance.
I can't say what happened as it sounds like a data breach, but there's some h4xx0r elements there too.
stay safe! Use a password manager and 2fa!

Question Backup options for Stock+Unrooted+Locked Pixel 6a

I have a new 6a here, never turned on before. I'm planning to use the stock image without root on this phone, so I can keep receiving OTAs, etc. I want this phone to just work with minimal maintenance effort.
Going forward, what is the best way to back up the data on this phone? I'm mostly trying to protect against hardware failures.
My goal would be to quickly restore the previous state on a new Pixel 6a, if the hardware stops working for whatever reason. (Which happens 1-2 per year in my case, oops.)
My understanding is that the Google Cloud backup would be the most convenient option, but that it's not end-to-end encrypted. Correct? That's a K.O., unfortunately.
EDIT: Seems Google Cloud Backup DOES have E2E? Can someone confirm? The dialog that Android shows is very ambiguous.
Thank you!
What do you mean end-to-end?
I do use the google backup and it's pretty legit. It's not a 100% "image" back up...but does include all your settings, apps, text messages, google photos etc. You can set it up to auto-backup every day or so when charging/on wifi at night...backs up to your Drive app.
When I reset the phone or add a new rom - it's about perfect. The only thing I "lose" or have to move back to the phone that google doesn't cover is data that the app doesn't automatically restore. So like - a stand-alone music library. But all my other apps automatically restore all their data as well.
So if an app uploads/auto-restores the data from their servers, you'll get everything back 100%. If an app only saves to your sdcard, you'll lose that data. I really only have 1 app that does that so not a big deal.

End-to-end encryption - Wikipedia

Encrypt the backup in a way that only the owner of the device can read it, but not Google or anyone else with access to Google's servers.
iCloud backups are not E2E encrypted, for example, so anyone with access to Apple servers could read your data. Apple just announced that they are going to change that, though, as far as I remember.
QUESTION:
I noticed that there's an option in the Developer options that allows me to set a DESKTOP BACKUP PASSWORD. What software would I then use to create the backup on my computer?
Sounds like iTunes local backup... I liked that option, I don't need it in the cloud.
EDIT: Found something here https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/ics-psa-how-to-full-desktop-backup-no-root-needed.1607254/
Why are people not using / recommending this? Sounds great?

Google say their backups are encrypted:
Where your phone data is storedBackups are uploaded to Google servers and they're encrypted with your Google Account password. For some data, your phone's screen lock PIN, pattern, or password is also used to encrypt your data so it can be backed up safely.

Yeah, that's what I saw in Android when I decided not to use it. This suggested to me that some data was ONLY encrypted with my PIN/Pattern, and that didn't seem like strong protection. (Once it's in the cloud, you have to assume it will be there forever... and who knows if my PIN is still considered secure in X years from now.)
I still have to do more research, but so far my sense is that the sensitive data is encrypted at least with my (much more complex) account password.
Try Swift Backup. You need ADB for backing up system apps, but you don't need root lol
