Magisk removing Magiskhide - Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC Questions & Answers

Dear all,
I just read the news or not so news for other ones that magisk Will be removing magiskhide due to Google where the creator is working forced the big hand.
I have Magisk over the years and my question will be what will affect this, this will be for example apps with microtransactions like Pokemon go? or are other things that will affect.
I only use the root though only to have full control of my phone's only and manage everything, should I be concerned of anything?
Thanks to all and let's hope this app don't die in the future.

Root and security

Hello,
I decided that I want to root my phone in order to use Xposed FW.
From what I know, rooting the phone may cause problems in terms of malwares, security breaches and such.
I tend to underestimate Anti-Virus apps, they all look gimmicky and never find anything (or it's just me never infecting my phone...)
Anyway, how can I protect the data on my phone from all the crap around the internet after rooting and Xposing it?
Anyone?
Personally, I feel rooting makes my phone more secure. I am in control of my system and what has access to a data connection. I am in control of what gets installed on my phone. Most of the malware comes from apps.
I'm new on the forums, but have been a computer/tech geek for many many years. I treat my rooted device as if it was my PC. Be mindful of what you click.
This is how I approach Android security:
Always check permissions before installing apps, especially from Play Store. The ONLY third party apps I'll ever flash are from reputable devs in this forum and from Fdroid. Use a good adblocker.
Find a good up to date custom ROM that includes Super SU. Flash AFwall+ and whitelist only what needs data. I see you mentioned XPosed so be sure to check out XPrivacy. I've read where some users use both AFWall and XPrivacy as kind of a failsafe. Read these forums. I've learned a great deal just reading here. We are fortunate to have so many talented people at XDA.
I don't even bother with antivirus apps and never been infected. I hope this clears up your fears with rooting. Bottom line is simply be mindful of what you click or flash and do your research here on the forums.
Hi,
I also use Xposed.
About rooting, I deactivate it in SuperSU when I don't need it. I don't know if it's a useful reaction.
BTW, I have the same point of view than KernelCorn.
Amusons-nous avant tout !
Anyone have anymore input or suggestions on this topic?
Root + Xposed + AFWall+ + XPrivacy + microG Gms Core + F-Droid / FLOSS apps + self-hosting services like Cozy, Owncloud... + a brain. That's all what I need.

I've been installing and reading up on the apps you mention.
I'm having trouble finding any information on the app you mention called 'a brain'.

Anyone using a firewall on OP7 with Magisk?

With so many apps wanting to call home, wondering if it's common practice to install a firewall for OP7 rooted with Magisk.
I see there's a Magisk module, and the Play store has a popular app called AFWall+. Wondering what the experts think.
I use AFWall+ without problems.
Thank you. Will give it a try.

Get Mcdonald's app to work with root

So I decided to install magisk again and managed to pass safety net and all that so I can now use Gpay. Then I figured since Gpay works now surely the mcdonalds app would also work, right? I mean, how much security does an app that literally does not handle any money need?
Anyway, since it seems to work randomly on some devices and not on others I'm just curious if any of you have managed to get it to work on an unlocked Mix 2s
Tried hiding magisk? And putting the app on the hide list in magisk?

Of course. Also tried a local payment app and everytime i open it the first time it doesn't work due to root but if I close it and open it again it works. So basically gpay works now but my banking apps don't work lol

Can not use banking app because of root.

When I try to open the pushTAN app of my bank, I get a security notice: blah blah ROOT something something.
My phone is the OnePlus Nord and I'm using the lastest magisk version with zygisk and the SafetyNet Fix from kdrag0n enabled. If I check the SafetyNet Attestation with various apps, I pass both "Basic integrity" and "CTS profile match", but for some reason my banking app still doesn't work.
Any help is appreciated.
Banks aren't soft. I don't think you'll find a way around it and if you do it won't last for long. The banks have a responsibility to keep things secure so see it as a good thing that they're protecting YOU from fraud. Root is insecure and blocked by banking apps for a very good reason.
Sorry but that's just the truth of it.
Take note that only 1 line of program code is needed to detect whether Android got persistently rooted or not. And such a line of code can get implemented in every app.
@m0.ke What I'm finding surprising -- correct me if I'm wrong -- is that if you weren't rooted, the app would work despite the other factors, like being unlocked. In an unrooted state here, at least, but on LineageOS so unlocked, which is something else that some apps don't like), I don't get a security notice when running it (of course I can't actually try logging in).
So, the irony may be that Magisk created a problem that it's designed to get around just by virtue of the root.
I'm beginning to wonder at this point just what percentage of problem apps actually object to a phone being unlocked (and/or being on a 3rd-party ROM like LineageOS) compared to that AND being rooted. So far, and I'm trying all that I can think of, including several banking apps and Google Pay (update: I did later see the issue with this one: it happens when trying to enable contactless), I haven't found one that has given me a problem. I don't quite know why, but it's making me much less inclined to bother with Magisk, something that I was positive that I would need after going to LineageOS.

Have you also hidden: Magisk root, Zygisk module and the Magisk app itself by renaming?
Nowadays banking apps also validate for this.

Do Magisk and Xposed actually root your phone? Or are they just tools for rooting?

I just got an S22 Ultra, and I'm really missing the Now Playing feature from my Pixel (along with several others, but this is the biggest one). I'd like to try and install the Ambient Music Mod, which looks like it might be the only option for this, but it requires both Magisk and Xposed according to their git. I don't really want to root my new phone. I sometimes have had bad luck with that in the past. Will Magisk and Xposed either root my phone or require root? Or are they just tools that go on the phone so that other tools can be installed?

I start root Android from S2 and I finish to note 9, I have a lot phones different Android and iPhone, but now on s22 I stop root. Why? Because you just lost a lot time for play on root.... and possible happening, when you go shopping and You card it's home... you just can't pay , just because one simple update your phone it's detected rooted. So no time for playing this thing's.
