Here's the deal, my moto G (XT1032) WAS working perfectly when Motorola was Google owned. After the first non Google update it started showing some problems. It is currently running on Android 4.4.2 and system version 174.44.1with NO hardware or software mods. The major issue now is that I can't uninstall ANY app, after I hit uninstall in the confirm window the phone reboots every single time, no matter what app. In addition to this, the same thing happens when you try to clear any apps data, also, you can't access the security settings as the settings app crashes every time you try to access security settings, and lastly, sometimes it reboots the phone says that it's optimizing one app of one, it freezes, crashes and reboots again until it is able to start.
THE MAIN ISSUE IS UNINSTALLING, and I have already heard that resetting to factory doesn't work.
Also trying to uninstall from the app launcher, play store or settings gives the same results.
After some fighting with my phone I came up with a solution.
1. Since the phone said that it was optimizing one app always, I assumed the problem was a single app. Then I deduced that app was Floatifications because it messed up with the phone security settings (for the notifications access) and was the most mod-heavy app I has installed lately. So I tried to uninstall it via ADB.
1.1 I had a second issue that the phone didn't recognized that it was connected to a computer. To circumvent this I booted into fastboot menu and I selected the BP tools option. When the phone booted up again with the service app activated it recognized the USB connection to the computer and turned on debugging mode.
2. I tried different commands to uninstall it via ADB, the one that worked was: adb shell pm uninstall -k <package name>
2.1 In this case of floatifications the whole command is 'adb shell pm uninstall -k robj.floating.notifications'
3. After a reboot everything was working normally. Including the USB connection.
For a final remark, I came up with this whole process by trial and error so maybe there is an easier way of doing all this stuff. I also uninstalled in the same process the lockscreen app "Cover" that also requested access to notifications but I don't think that app was the problem since the phone said it was optimizing one app and it isn't as muddy as Floatifications.
Every app I uninstall, still appears on my Smart Connect with a "?" icon.
Also when I get into the apps section in my smartwatch, I can still see these uninstalled apps, but without any icon, and, obviously, I cannot use them.
Does this happen to you?
How can I uninstall apps for good?
I've got an LG G2 paired with my smartwatch 2.
I had that with some apps when I did restores with Titanium Backup. Problem has gone recently though, I guess since the last software update.
Have you removed the apps in the normal way, or via some other software?
reset the watch.
Thanks! I'll try resetting the watch.
GM all. I had been having trouble with my GW4 LTE (non-classic) not recognizing my home WiFi password, when it had been for many months. I have a Note 20 5G and I'm on the Android 12 Beta. So I wrote to the Beta community and he said to delete the Gear Wear an on the watch, reinstall from the Play Store, and I mistook it for saying to remove it on the phone. Now, when I try to reconnect with the GW4, it says it will delete everything and pair as a new phone/watch. The auto backup unfortunately DID NOT save ANY backups. I have a ton of watch faces that I bought (I know I should be able tor reinstall from Play Store), some watch faces that I created (I may be able to get back), but other data that I know will be lost.
Anybody know of a way to re-connect but preserve the data. There are ways to do it with Wear OS 2, but NOT Wear OS 3. My Tizen watches were not affected and I was able to save all my Samsung Health data to my GW3. Any help, thoughts, would be greatly appreciated.
hello, yes that would be good. i reinstalled wear plugin and wear app due to latest bug on plugin app now cant connect same phone to watch. it stuck at 80-90% during setup. Dont wanna reset the watch before getting my data. No solution?
I finally gave up and reset the watch and paired it again. All is well now. This time did an immediate backup after I tweaked everything I wanted. I will try to now remember to back up at least once a week. Happy Holidays everyone!
It all has to do with the "Galaxy Watch4 Plugin". If you're having any issues syncing between phone and watch. If you end up having to reinstall it then you'll have to reset your watch too. Make sure you backup!
Hello, i've got a non Samsung phone. Recently there has been a bug with recently released gw4 plugin app. Bug is that wear app force prompt user to update the app although its already up to date so wear app doesnt open and watch cant connect to phone.
Reinstalled the wear app and plugin apps on watch. During pairing setup stage "Getting your watch ready" it always stuck at 80-90% and doesnt complete setup so watch cant connect to phone. Cleared cache on watch via recovery menu but didnt help. Tried connecting another phone but watch doesnt allow it without factory resetting. I dont want to reset watch as i have some health and watch settings data on it that hasnt been backed up yet. There is an adb trick to connect wearos watches to another phone without resetting but seems like it doesnt work with wearos 3. Cant manually pull the data from watch via wifi debugging either because it's not rooted. Any solution would be much appreciated. Cheers

That's great
PS. If anyone find some solution for this let me know xD i have a feeling that i might need it in the future
So, I occassion drive for DoorDash. When I do a system restore after factory reset the DoorDash app will mark me as paused. However, when I do a factory reset and just install a few apps the DoorDash app seems to work. It's seems like it tries to send me a delivery, but instead of it coming through it pauses me?
So I'm thinking there must be a conflicting app? What I'm wondering, is there a way for me to figure out what's causing the issue? I'll be able to watch the DD app, and know the exact time there's an issues if there are apps out there that could record internal issues or conflicts for me to analyze?
I know this isn't device specific, but this is my device. And I really could use help as DD support is beyond useless

As long as it works via clean reset don't even bother trying to restore via any means if it is not necessary?
Just backup pics and data , and reinstall apps manually. There's a lot of reasons why conflict may arise - none of which is really within your means... If you're lucky MAYBE another app gets installed which causes conflicts such that uninstall would fix it but that's really far fetched...
To view logs you'd do something like adb shell logcat - start it on pc
Then make the app missbehave , and stop the logging on PC after ( With Ctrl+C )
Scroll through logs and see if there's any mention as to what's going on...
There's way more involved methods like injecting YAHFA into APK , then running your own logger for getting internal logsbof the app - If you can't even gather logs this is off the table lol
(You could attempt this via App Cloner tho , which is a paid app - like 2$ Select app, enable logs and rebuild app. I haven't tried the logging option so it might be 2$ spent on nothing if it does not work)
Either way - simplest option is factory reset then install everything manually if that causes no issues.
If you wanna backup / restore in future there's options to do it via adb , which might be more stable than system app
