Hi!
There're a few apps on my Nexus One that are built-in and I can't uninstall them (without rooting the phone). After some time they lost their functionality. For example, Facebook started to crash all the time and Twitter won't upload photos anymore.
What can I do to recover them? Tried force stopping, clearing settings, rebooting but nothing worked so far.
Thanks!
Hard reset might help.
So there are two apps that I have uninstalled that keep magically reappearing. One of them is Samsung S Suggest and the other is Peel Smart Remote. I use Root Uninstaller to handle my uninstalls and even though I have successfully removed both of these apps from my tablet, they eventually reappear (and in fact are updated via play).
Obviously there is some other app running on my tablet that is related to them that keeps reinstalling them, but I don't know what it is. Any suggestions here? or perhaps some ideas on how to trouble shoot the problem on my own?
GTab 10.1 p7500 , stock 3.1
Here's the case , playing Temple run 2 for few minutes. When I exit , the tab get crash.I was force to restart the tab.
After restart , everything get reset where it ask me for username , date and time and etc similar when you first bought a phone/tab.
Every application shortcut was on the screen but everyone of it crash. It looks like it auto created another profile for me.
What works is I uninstall the apps and reinstall again.Updating will also fail to launch.
Is there way to backup my bookmark link from opera and other application ?
Getting it straight to the point , how do I backup all application data which crash without rooting ?
Again I forgot to addd , the youtube and google play revert back to original old youtube icon and also google market.
What kind of crashes was it ? It auto revert all apps unusable ?
Anyone kind enough to reply me ? :crying:
Well the important thing would be to simply prevent the crashes from happening at all. There should be a tab in your settings for you to update if the manufacturer has provided one to be able to fix the crashing. Also, try doing a manual factory reset on your device, and starting from scratch. It could also be a faulty device. However as far as backup is concerned, there should be a multitude of apps on the playstore, or worst comes to worst, you can transfer your files to your computer via USB and transfer them back after the crash.
Personally, I'd just want the crashing to stop, hence why I suggested that first.
I hope this helps, or that you at least get your issue resolved.

Right now , the first thing I'd do now is root the device. Then using root backup pro and backup the apps + data .
After than will do a factory reset.
Is it a good idea ?
anyone know to use adb to backup or pull /data/data/Opera file out to backup?
Hi,
I've had the s7 for a few weeks and it's been running fine.
For the last 2 days, it's been freezing and becoming unresponsive leading me to reboot it for it to become normal again. Sometimes it auto reboots itself.
I have realised that this mainly happens to my phone while I am using the Daily Mail app.
Any suggestions?
Running stock BTU firmware latest - I've tried a factory reset.
Remove the daily mail app?
Well, I could do that but I use the app daily, it's been working fine for weeks.
It can either be something has become faulty within my S7 or an app update on Daily Mail has made it happen.
I've removed the Daily Mail app, deleted the cache and storage of it and re-installed it to no avail.
Yea, so remove it completely for a week and see if the phone still does it, if not, it's the app
Use the daily mail site for now
Ok, I will remove it right now and test.
Thanks.
Just had a thought, the Oculus Rooms app had a problem update recently causing these exact symptoms
Uninstall "Oculus Rooms" and see if that solves it, it's getting stuck in an update loop that never ends, killing battery life, heating phones up, and killing performance
You rebooting the phone likely temporarily solves it until it tries updating again

I assume you mean the Gear VR services.
For some reason I not able to uninstall them via the Application Manager?

It's actually "Oculus Rooms" causing the problem, show System Apps in Applications manager, see if you can see it in there
Otherwise grab a package disabler from the play store and disable with that, don't need root, I use Package Disabler Pro
I can't see Oculus Rooms in System Apps and I just installed disable service from the play store.
I don't see it there either.
I do see Gear VR services and I've attached a picture.
If you don't have GearVR headset or used SideloadVR to enable it, it might not have been installed, not sure as I used SideloadVR to run it on mine
com.oculus.rooms
If you don't use GearVR, I'd freeze all the GearVR / Oculus stuff and see how you get on
Some tips here
https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS7/comments/55280e/overheating_and_draining_battery/
I don't use GearVR headset or SideloadVR and I still can't seem to find com.oculus.rooms
I can't seem to find an app that would freeze GearVR / Oculus stuff without root.
I can see however that Gear VR Service has used 22% battery since last charge which doesn't seem normal.

Yep, that's seems to be the problem then
This is what I use, no root needed
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ospolice.packagedisablerpro&hl=en_GB
Top right 3 dots menu > show system apps > search from top search bar for "Gear" and "Oculus"
Check their boxes to disable, done
I've just seen this:
hxxp://www.sammobile.com/2016/10/02/oculus-updates-app-to-fix-rapid-battery-drain-on-samsung-phones/
Will the update be pushed out automatically so I wouldn't need to disable anything?
Check for updates, see if it fixes it
If you're not using it, might as well disable it anyway, free up resources
I don't know what I'm looking to update?
No updates are available in either Google or Galaxy play store and I can't seem to find the VR App.
Probably because you haven't enabled it with either SideloadVR or the Gear headset, so you can either use a package disabler and kill it that way, or use SideloadVR to enable it and update it that way
I don't have anything enabled on my phone to test different methods, until I get a GearVR, I disable all unnecessary services
Do I just download Sideload VR via the play store and them run it?
Reading the instructions would also be good
All the info you need is in this thread and on the apps description / google, instead of constantly asking questions, either disable it or update it
I've installed Package Disabler Pro and disabled everything with "Gear".
Nothing showed up with "Oculus".
I hope that's fixed it for me now.
Good stuff, fingers crossed, if you still have problems try removing that daily mail app
Its totally annoying when i try to enter app store from gear manager and see a blank screen. What a bull**** software. I dont want to soft reset and install everything again everyday.
Used to happen to me a lot a while back. Best to update the watch, the gear manager, the gear s plugin & the samsung accessory service. After updating the watch, it might help to do a full reset & to not restore a backup but rather set everything again manually.
I factory reset my Phone and gear and then installed all software from aptoide not play store and everything is working Fine for a few days. I hope it wont happen again. Thx for advice
