[Completed] Cant't seem to get a custom recovery to work, despite being rooted.

Ok so a bit of background on the hardware I am using a y300 and have the bootloader unlocked and the phone rooted. I have done so in hopes of installing a custom rom (slim kat probably) but the custom recoveries just don't want to work on this phone! I have installed clockword and TWRP (which I have installed, in-app, by img since it refuses to download from the internet?) but yet whenever I go to recovery, even from within these apps I am in what looks like a stock android recovery and cannot install my rom (says installation aborted or something similar). I have granted root access on both and am pulling my hair out at this stage. I have experience with Galaxy's installing custom ROM's so I am not a total novice but this has stumped me, anyone able to offer any advice?
Thank you in advance!
When root is not properly installed, a custom recovery gets overwritten at boot with the stock recovery. This may the issue you are having!
I'd reccomend asking in this thread here [Guide] Huawei Ascend Y300 Unlock & Root
Some of the users with the same phone, Y300, may be able to help you!

Need a custom ROM for huawei Honor 6 H60-L01

I have been trying to root my device for over a month now. soft bricked it once, solved it using help from xda-forums. have a working custom ROM now but can not root it somehow.
I am using TWRP recovery and kingroot came pre-installed with the custom rom but I don't have root access to uninstall it.
Can you please point me to a thread for rooting this device or to a thread with custom ROM for huawei H60-L01 which already has a root or could be rooted easily.
Thanks for your help.
Have you tried flashing SuperSU zip using TWRP recovery?
Once rooted, you can easily make a custom ROM yourself.

What can unlocking the bootloader and not rooting the phone do?the possibilities?

Checked out realme's website and they state that unlocking and flashing roms does not void warranty but rooting the phone does.So what are the possibilities/things one can do with the phone while unlocking it but not rooting it.
Also is there a safe rooting method which doesnt leave traces after unrooting again? So that the device can be used in warranty.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
If you have Realme 5 Pro (not q) then you can still flash custom rom, recovery or basically anything with adb. It's just you won't be able to do root stuff on your phone but you'll need pc. Still you could flash custom kernel, rom, or ota update. Magisk is called systemless root for it does root your system without touching the system files so after uninstalling it and flashing stock rom realme service shouldn't ever be able to tell that your phone was ever rooted. I live in Hungary and my previous Xiaomi phone was installed with custom rom, kernel and Magisk root. Before taking it to Xiaomi service I did a clean flash, reverted everything to stock and warranty was still good to go. That'd be just an example. Don't know Realme how is with these stuff.

You're welcome. If indeed only root void warranty then you're free to flash to your linking almost everything via usb adb. Except for root ofc.
thank you again for the same.

After installing twrp via adb you can flash stuff from your sd card. Don't forget to always have a backup zip file of your stock rom in case something goes wrong. And don't forget to use backup in twrp for data partition sometimes when you feel you're about to do something risky that might flip your system's stability. I do that all the time ?*
Yep I will. Its a new phone so more of a reason to take precautions .

Magisk has an option to hide from those apps, I used it all the time with secure banking apps
If I unlock bootloader and flash TWRP, can this TWRP can be used as my stock recovery further for flashing zips(not custom ROMs)? Also will Bank apps work in this set up without any problems?
Yes, you can use TWRP to flash anything. Yes, bank apps will work as long as you have magisk installed.

Doogee S88 Pro, custom ROM? (preinsalled virus concerns)

I purchased a Doogee S88 Pro a while ago, but I haven't used it because if concerns of malware / adware being preinsalled on the device or being added later by updates. The issue is I love the phone. The design, battery everything about it appeals to me due to working outdoors.
However, I can't for the life of me find out whether I can root it and install custom ROM so I wouldn't have to worry about malware anymore.
unofficial twrp 3.4.0 for Doogee S88 Pro - unofficial twrp
Download unofficial twrp 3.4.0 root Doogee S88 Pro, user who own Doogee S88 Pro can root it by following the below instructions

Is the above link legit? If so TWRP can be installed and therefore a custom ROM?
Never heard that manufacturers preinstall malware. What they do is preinstall PUPs.

Although, even if it is just pop ups, I'd like to be able to get rid of those which afaik the only way would be via custom ROM?
PUP -> Potentially Unwanted Program ( AKA bloatware )
Yes, installing a Custom ROM might be a solution, but it's not the only one.

Ah I assumed that meant pop ups.
I'm assuming it's currently not possible to root, and install custom ROMs on the phone?
In order to install a Custom ROM device's Android must not be rooted.
You can install a Custom ROM like LineageOS either by means of a Custom Recovery or by means of
ADB Sideload method:
Code:
adb devices
adb reboot sideload
adb sideload <LOS.zip>

Looks like I need to compile TWRP myself for the Doogee S88 PRO because it's not officially supported.
I'll try my best but I doubt I have the technical skills. Is there a marketplace where I could hire someone to do this?
If you can't find a TRWP suitable to your phone then you might get helped here:
[CLOSED] I Will build TWRP for your device!
I wanna build twrp for your device! Pls give info about your device! if possible give stock firmware!

Contacted them to see if they're interested. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like anyone else on the internet has attempted it. Only people saying they were going to. I imagine it's people like me who aren't technical when it comes to phones and coding.

[Q] Help with rooting Infinix Hot 11 play X688B

I recently bought Infinix Hot 11 play X688B and I want to root it or install custom rom to remove bloat and spyware but I'm very newbie at this and I'm not sure from where to start
I can access to PC and ADB (on linux)
To install a suitable Custom ROM a device-matching Custom Recovery must get installed beforehand.
You must not root device's Android to flash a Custom ROM. Root is only needed to debloat Android. Take note that you can temporarily root Android.

To be honest first I wanted to install custom rom to escape whole infinix world and spyware but later (and after looking) I found there are no custom roms so I'm stuck with root to debloat my device so I'm sorry for my stupidness but can you explain to me what do I need to do exactly to root it? I remember in past I download some APKs and boom it's rooted but seems it's not the case anymore so what should I do

Okay so I looked up more and I have an option called "Unlock bootloader" so I think I can unlock it so what else stop me from rooting my device?
The so-called "root" is a functionality of Android OS, has nothing to do with a device's bootloader what starts device's Linux kernel and afterwards Android OS.
Don't confuse things.

Oh I'm already confused
I see people talk online about "unlocking the bootloader" before they get into rooting stage so I said okay I have that already so in summery there is no luck for me to root my device?

You need installing img file with correct vbmeta file or using vbmeta modified.
Here the TWRP: TWRP TEST USB
Code:
fastboot --disable-verity --disable-verification flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
fastboot flash recovery recoveryTWRP.img
fastboot reboot-recovery
if you not have vbmeta modified and want use one so use this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachments/vbmetaandroidsc_mod-zip.5338181/
