Switched carriers from TMobile to Xfinity mobile and now I have no data. I get phone service but unable to acres internet. Is there a way to trouble shoot this?
Need to make sure the network mode is set correctly, that Mobile Data is enabled, and have the correct APN set up

I am new to the forums, so please go easy on me.
A quick back story....where I live, I have to use a Verizon Network Extender to make and receive calls & texts from home. VZW's Extender only works with 3G. Since the upgrade to 4.1.1, the mobile network menu only has choices of Global, LTE/CDMA and GSM.
Until yesterday, I have been using an app called Phone Info to manually set my mobile network to CDMA Auto (PRL) when I got home and it worked perfectly. Since the update, the Phone Info app no longer works and I cannot find an app that will allow me the same access to set my mobile network. I receive just enough of a 4G signal where I live that my phone will not auto switch to 3G. So now I have an expensive paperweight at home.
Can anyone point me to an app or tweak that could help me with this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Hi, I recently bought a LG g3 smarthphone and I found out that it's an AT&T version phone, but thankfully it's unlocked. My problem is, that it doesn't get any mobile network. In the setting it says that the Mobile network type this device can use is EDGE, but my local carriers can only provide LTE, GSM and WCDMA. I've tried to solve this on my own, but without luck. The solutions with 3845#*850# or similar codes just woun't work, when I choose any RAT it says: "succsess", but it doesn't change a thing and when I choose LTE only mode the phone blocks my mobile connection and says: "Restricted access changed: Data service is blocked" .
I really need any help, because I cannot see myself using a mobile phone without mobile internet. BTW, my location is Estonia.

First of all EDGE is GSM. It your only getting edge that could be due to the phone not supporting the bands that are used in your country.

Hello,
I'm having trouble using my phone in roaming. My home mobile provider is Vip net., in Croatia. I'm currently in England, and my phone is currently connected to Vodafone network, which a partner of Vip.
I'm unable to get mobile data connection unless I'm connected to Vodafone 4G network. When I do a manual scan of networks, I can see (most of the time) three instances of each network (4G/WCDMA/GSM). Whenever my phone decides to switch from 4G to WCDMA or GSM, I lose the mobile connection.
APN is of course set correctly since otherwise I wouldn't be able to connect to the network on 4G (I've even had my provider send me the APN configuration message to make sure that's correct - I also tried various modifications to settings of the same).
I've talked with my providers technical support and they haven't been able to provide me with a solution, so I'm wondering if anyone here might have a clue about what is happening?
I've tried doing some basic diagnostic with adb, but haven't been able to gather much from modem logs, which I've attached here, and I would be grateful if anyone would take a look.
Here is the log, please note that it starts with me turning on mobile data and ends with me turning it off:

The phone in question is LG G5, Android 7.0 Nougat, Stock rom. (I had the same issue on 6.0)
Thanks guys!
newb here, and I apologize in advance if I make an error!
switched from sprint to t mobile and no data, lte/4g 98% of time. sprint did unlock my s7. if I go from network mode automatic to gsm, or back, sometimes, rarely it will come on. t mobile did switch out sims to no avail.
The free calling and texting app Textnow which formerly only worked on Wifi or with a paid subscription is now offering Free cellular service through the Sprint network. You just pay once for a $9.99 SIM activation kit and never need to pay a monthly fee or anything again. The Free part is only Voice and text. Their voice and texting does use mobile data but mobile data can't be used for anything else like surfing the Internet unless you pay extra. It does of course have ads to pay for this service but I haven't found them any problem. You have your own phone number and it automatically will switch between available Wifi and cellular for calls and texting. Great idea in my opinion for an extra phone number or backup phone or even a primary phone if you are in a good Sprint network area. Your phone must be compatible with Sprint's network (CDMA) or you can buy refurbished phones from Textnow that are all set to go.
Textnow now has a GSM SIM that works through T-Mobile. It took a bit of digging to find info needed to make the SIM work but so far I can only make outgoing calls and texts when on cellular (VoLTE) with
Wifi turned OFF. I can't receive calls or texts unless Wifi is ON. Is anyone else trying their new GSM SIM and had this problem? This is free cellular! You just have to put up with some ads. Textnow states you can make and receive calls on cellular but so far can't get the incoming working.
If you have trouble with this new GSM SIM even connecting here is the solution I found to at least make outgoing calls work: Go into settings > Wifi and Internet > SIM and network settings > SIM (T-Mobile) > Access Point Names > Add APN. Getting there may vary some by phone and OS version but you need to add the APN - Name : TextNow APN: textnow.static - then just save it and after saving choose it as the APN in the little circle. Turn on Airplane mode for about 10 seconds and then turn back off and you should see VoLTE and be able to make calls. If you can receive calls and text also please post here with anything you did to accomplish that.
