It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. You will need to provide your own Google Applications package (gapps). CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.

Does anyone knows if this can be installed on the "normal" F1 (not the F1 Play)?
If I unpack this and swap kernel for the F1 can I post it in F1 thread to share. Or can the f1 be added as a build branch?
EDIT:
Well it boots, but does not have working MTP.
the one i have been using already(a ported one) has working MTP, I will stay with it.

Pitch Black Recovery Project (PBRP) is a custom recovery project based on Team Win Recovery Project (TWRP) developed by Reza Adi, maintained by Manjot Sidhu and Mohd Faraz and themed by FireWolf.
Prerequisites
1. Unlocked bootloader.

1. Test it, those sides which others haven't tested yet
2. If you have found a bug, please consider posting it to my GitHub Issues.

Method 1 (Fastboot Installation)
1. Go to the fastboot mode.
2. Download the pbrp-2.9.0-build-02.img and transfer it to the adb folder (rename is optional for simplicity).
3. Open the cmd/terminal and change directory into the adb folder.
4. Now confirm/check that device is connected by typing:-
Code:
fastboot devices
If you got your device seriel number there then you are ready to continue otherwise try connecting device again and make sure USB debugging is on and you have granted permission to the PC to debug.
5. After that we will flash this PBRP recovery to the recovery partition by below command:-
Code:
fastboot flash recovery pbrp-2.9.0-build-02.img

3. It will reboot to recovery automatically after that.
BooM ! PBRP flashed successfully.

LineageOS 15.1 for MI MIX
Beware, you are about to enter a dangerous zone!
ABOUT
This is an unofficial Oreo build for the Xiaomi MI MIX (lithium) based on official LineageOS 15.1 for MI MIX.
This build is not made solely for the intention of public release, but more for my personal use. Therefore, updates are not guaranteed, and you should expect changes in functionalities compared to official LineageOS 15.1. I always upload my builds on xda, so that it may benefit those who needed, especially for older Android builds like this.
Read the sections below carefully to understand the status of this ROM and how to prepare your device for installation.
CREDITS
Full credits to @bgcngm , Xiaomi MI MIX, MSM8996, LineageOS and all other developers. This is a build completely based on official LineageOS 15.1 sources for MI MIX. I do not contribute anything except performing source modification and compiling builds.
INSTALLATION FROM STOCK
Follow these steps if you are coming from stock. You will need access to a PC.
1. Check for unlocked bootloader. Go to About Phone, toggle MIUI version until Developer Options is enabled.
2. Go to Developer Options in Additional Settings. Check for Unlock Status of your device.
3. If it is not unlocked, follow the instructions to pair a Xiaomi account and unlock the device using your PC.
4. After unlocked, download the latest copy of stock MIUI (optional: flashtool) and reflash the device with the option flash_all (Clean All) using Fastboot, if you haven't flash as such before on your device.
5. Reboot into system and ensure everything is okay.
6. Now, download latest official TWRP and flash from Fastboot.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery ./path/to/twrp-3.2.1-0-lithium.img
7. Reboot recovery by executing 'fastboot reboot' while holding Volume Up.
INSTALLATION
Please backup your Persist partition, and store in a dry, safe place.
Code:
adb pull /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/persist
The below instructions assumes that your device has TWRP and latest firmware installed. All your data will be destroyed in the process.
1. Reboot recovery. Wipe /cache, /system. Then, run Format Data.
2. Proceed to flash my builds.
3. Flash ARM64 GAPPS and SU if desired, or Magisk if you need systemless root support.
4. Prepare a coffee or tea and sit back on your couch. Click to reboot system, BUT DO NOT SWIPE TO INSTALL TWRP APP or you will end up in a bootloop!
