Hi all,
Since the beginning I experienced lags and overall bad performances (my old G7 plus or my gf's redmi note 5 pro do way better).
For those who tried custom ROMs: did you notice a boost on performance compared to stock firmware? It would be the only reason for me to unlock bootloader etc.
Thank you

I wanna create a thread, to help each other finding the right ROM, according to our needs....we will debate the stability, performance and autonomy ( battery life)
i m not a fan of a single developer, now i am on Monxdified v.8.02, the first custom rom on NOTE 2, i got a good battery life, is stable, smooth...what else is out there to try?
I m interested in stability and battery life , and few options on top of the rom, not tons, just basic stuff, like the 4 way reboot, customizable toogles, etc
Devices History:
Motorola Defy (Cyanogen mod 7.2)
Motorola Razr XT 910
HTC One X (Blade Rom , ViperX, ARHD)
Samsung Note 2 N7100 ( Monxdified v 8.02)
Monxdified v8.02....moderate use, low battery draining, specially in standby
i think you cant say that there is a best rom. battery and "smoothness" really always depends extremely on the user and is not really measurable objective.
Don't know what everybody wants to know about stability? If there are no force closes (which is the case with almost every ROM) it is stable right? Of course there are some extraordinary roms like cm 10.1 (camera might get stuck or phone can't connect to camera) or weeo's and mazanda(?) note 8 rom (which got occasional hiccups and force closes because it is something way different and a lot of work) but the rest (based on sammy) is always stable isn't it? Phoenix rom, android revolution, criskelo's rom etc etc are all smooth, battery friendly and stable. I think it is just personal preference (like customization in aroma) and what the rom looks like that makes users choose one or another.
and as you haven't created something this thread probably belongs in general discussion. - just saying
Closing this thread as there is no better Rom than others.
They are all different and one Rom that fits someone needs might not be suitable to another user.
I'm going to buy a Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910L. I just wanted to know if it's possible to root the MM version of this particular variant, also if there's any custom ROM available for this variant.
The reason I'm asking this is because I recently bought a LG G4 H818P and found out that the MM version of that phone isn't possible to root yet and also there isn't any custom ROM available. So, I downgraded it to LP, but there are a lot of bugs, very very bad battery life. So now I'm bound to switch to another phone and found that Note 4 is the one that meets my budget and requirements.
Any advice is very much welcomed. Thanks in advance.
Hello guys. I want question. Realme ui and phones better are xiaomi ? I hate miui , but love stock like android. So i uses many phones of xiaomi with custom rom , and after buying a mi3. But Xiaomi Android one is joke.
So i seems the realme phones , the gui is think good.
I ask the users what think about . Thanks
You got it backwards xiaomi is better than realme
Miui is better than realme ui
I have a rm5 pro yet i cant even use it to play rhythm games, the system or the phone itself is not optimized for super fast paced games.
Whats good with a overkill specs if you cant use it lol
I think they could be as good or even better if they fixed few things. Just a little compare : i had both Realme 5 Pro & Redmi Note 8T and the latter has such a POOR CAMERA PERFORMANCE in compare, it's crazy I also prefer RealmeUI compared to MIUI.
for me ist much better Xioami ( MIUI ) rather than Realme ( RealmeUI ) but if compare to colorOS,is choose ColorOS
Xiaomi is only better because they let users develop more freely than Realme by releasing and updating source codes often and faster. They've a handy, official unlocking and flashing tool while Realme lacks these too. MiUi isn't great but way better than Rui or Cos. My Redmi Note 4X mido is getting loads of custom ROM and kernel updates with over 20+ to choose from. It's currently on Android 10 without any noticeable bugs while official MiUi updates were stopped at Android 7.1. This is why my mido is faster than my Realme Q even though my RMQ is 4 times stronger than my mido. Custom development is everything in my eye. A well refined system a.k.a software can do wonders in a few cases.
While I was going through some videos, came across Revolution OS. Wanted to get a bit more information regarding the custom MIUI ROM, but found none on XDA. So, went ahead and tried it, seems like it is a ported Android 10 MIUI 12 for Redmi Note 5 Pro, from Note 7. Not really buggy, but the devices heats up and the camera quality can be considered bad compared to other available ROMs. Overall available ram and animation speed seemed much better compared to Xioami.eu rom. Might need a bit more fixes here and there, before it can be considered a better alternative.
So, wanted to hear more about other people's experience regarding this particular rom.
Never knew about Android 10 port. Thanks for the info. I'll try it.
Revolution OS is a Spanish ROM with features mixed from Global and China Developer ROMs. It's very carefully tested to avoid issues within the users, and it has a strict policy about bug reporting or testing. Currently, that Android 10 ROM, with MIUI 12, is a port from Redmi Note 7, adapted to the peculiarities of Note 5 Pro. It will be improved over time, only it's a preliminary version.
Hi.
I'm new to the flashing/ROM and when i was going through what rom should i install for a balance between performance, stability and customization, there was the mention of pixel extended, experience plus and pixel plus UI. And i searched for the difference in them but couldn't find anything helpful (on 1 yt vid a guy said that ppui is experience plus). So i need some help regarding this
