hello everyone
I recently bought a motorola edge s on ebay from china and I noticed that unless I open an app on regular time intervals the app times out and I don't get any notification until the next time I open the app
I tried messing with the settings and disabled battery optimization but it didn't work
I wonder if anyone has encountered this kind of problem and if it has to do that the device version is chinese
if so what can be a solution to it?
I read on the forum that flashing a global version of the android os is one solution to this problem, however I have no experience in going through this kind of process and need a step by step guide specific to this device
if there's an easier solution to a novice like me it will be much appreciated
thank you all in advance
I had the same issue. However your only option will be to flash. China's regulations on phones has the Chinese ROM so broken that it barely functions. Just do your research, and you'll be fine. Make sure you follow the steps to the letter though. And if you have issues, dont be afraid to ask questions in the related threads.
To give you an idea, the moment I flashed my Edge S to the global rom, it was like an entirely different phone. The experience was INSTANTLY better.

I'll do it but I don't even know where to start, where to find a good guide and where to find the os file
I really don't want to brick my phone
can you give me any pointers?

I would message this guy. I flashed my phone using LMSU as per his recommendation.
Nahhh.. you don't need to flash to global ROM to get proper notification.
I still find it funny that some people haven't explored built-in Motorola apps as they are intended to help you solve the problem without the need to flash.
MOTOROLA DEVICE SHILED app is there for you to configure your notifications.
Select the app and "Allow running in background" and notification will come in without opening the app.

I really appreciate your help but I already tried it and it doesn't really work
but thank you anyway
I have zero experience in coding and I never learned how to code so I'm not familiar with the process of flashing a new os like I do of installing windows or linux on a pc
he told me I have to unlock my bootloader (whatever that is), I tried to follow the guide but It just confused me

It does work.
Adding to that, you also NEED to put the apps in auto start.

There are several risks and consequences to unlocking the bootloader.
One is some banking apps will not work if the bootloader is unlocked.
Read the warnings on the unlocking page for more. (see link below)
If you still want to change the software channel from RetCN to another Retail channel like RetUS

Hi. Today I bought a 2nd hand Captivate that came with CM7 preloaded. I want to flash it back to stock 2.2/2.3. Now I already have a I9000 and I can flash/install ROMs on it no problem. However, I couldn't find any definitive tutorial for the Captivate after some searching.
Can someone kindly tell me the steps required to install a 100% stock ROM in the Captivate ? I don't think I have 3BR, even after looking at some YouTube tutorials and doing those things.
Thanks for the help !!

Care to give a link to a proper 3BR fix and n00b guide to stock restoration? Couldn't find anything extremely clear. Not everyone is a pro you know.
Do you mean the stock firmware that comes with a new Captivate? i.e. Touchwiz

Touchwiz is Samsung's ui overlay for Android. It comes not only with new captivate, but old captivates. And EVERY OTHER Samsung Android phone except the nexus lines.

lol! I meant "new" as in out of the box, un-modded. Lots of people confuse stock with AOSP. I wasn't sure which one the OP was asking about.
what is 3BR fix? and here is the link read the WHOLE post down to the bottom for instructions. [Stock ROMs](OneClicks Master Collection)+[Kernels (Stock & w/ CWM)]+[Modems] UPDATED
and where did i find it??? right where I said it was. XDA > Captivate > Development > STICKY.
might also want to read the new user guide in my sig, to help you find what ever you want all by yourself. but please note.... it requires reading...

Sorry. I meant download mode. I can't get into download mode no matter what I do. So I can't even begin to follow your stock restoration instructions. Any fool-proof fixes for the download mode?
Download mode jig, if your USB port isn't fried it works in 2 seconds every time...

Hello onetik and welcome to the Captivate community. Here are some threads I suggest you read before 1) doing anything to your Captivate, or 2) ask a question.
**Captivate Sticky Roll Up** Guides/Reference/WIKI Etc...
Captivate Connection Issues and Download Mode Help
[Stock ROMs](OneClicks Master Collection)+[Kernels (Stock & w/ CWM)]+[Modems] UPDATED
Those threads will possibly provide you with all the information you might need on all the modifications that can be done to the Captivate.
I have been tinkering with my phone since mid-September, and I like to think I can get out of any jam I might come across, even if it's doing something redundant as returning back to stock when it's not needed. Granted, you WILL come across a problem that merits asking a question, most people here will know whether you searched or not before you post your question.
So read up my friend, and soon enough you will want to go beyond just flashing a ROM. Lord knows I am just about ready to jump into theming
By mistake I ordered a K3, not the note version.
From what I came to know is that this device is intended for the Asian market only.
The phone has really bad software, and after a bit of searching on this forum and Google I have yet to find an answer to the following questions:
Is it possible to install another rom on this phone?
Are there any out there?
Is it the same phone as the A6000 (or does it accept the same roms)?
I have rooted/installed firware on phones before.
I am sorry if I overlooked any relevant information.
Nobody?
I managed to get a custom rom working, i'll make a post in this topic to help others out.

On your current (stock) rom:
- Download all the software needed: https://ufile.io/a8497
- Enable USB Debugging after connecting it to your pc.
- Download TWRP for A6000 (unzip on your pc)
- Download K30-W_MIUI6_5.1.23_liuxingghost-0501251930-RUS-UK-MIUI.SU_v2.zip and place it on your phone's SD-card!
- Open "Boot-TWRP_A6000.bat"
- Phone will reboot into recovery
- Wipe > Advanced wipe
- Select first 4 options and wipe
- Go back to the main menu of TWRP and "install zip"
- Select the rom, and install.
After the rom is installed, the boot will take LONG to the point you will think the flashing has failed. Don't worry, it will boot, this is only the first time.
If it asks to update, don't it will fail.
OPTIONAL: After rom booted, put Google_installer.apk on your SD and run it from the file explorer, install ALL parts of the software to get play store working.
OPTIONAL: Install galleryGoogle.apk to get the standard android gallery, the one provided sucks imo.
The rom is only in chinese/enlish, but the standard software is so crappy and bloated, that this is a hell of a lot better.
After a bit of configuring I managed to get it all to proper English, and got play store working. The phone runs smoothly, and everything is working fine (even 4G).
ROM VERSION: 4.4.4 KUT84P
MIUI version 5.1.23 | Beta
I am not responsible for bricking your phone!
If anyone could provide me with a better rom I would be very happy, although this one is working fine for the moment.

You may want to read through this thread, the ROM linked above is in post #25(message#25) in the thread linked below. There are also many different ROMs there that you might can use with a little bit of work to set it up.

Oppo A75 CPH1723
ColorOS: V3.2
Android 7.1.1
I have no been able to find a way to root this phone and can't find anything on any custom roms for this device.
It seems to share similar hardware to the Oppo F5 as both of them share the model CPH1723 (Chipset).
Can someone on here please help?
Root and Latest Version of Lineage OS.
I'd been interested in porting Lineage OS onto this device but need a way to root it without bricking it.
ColorOS is horrible, tries to copy the iPhone too much, ewwwwww.

And would help with testing if anyone knows how to Root the OppoA75
I've been waiting for someone to comment on this.
I'm totally surprised that no one is able to help us...
BUMP, Anything for this phone yet? I find ColorOS so unreliable and poorly optomised
Another bump, I honestly find coloros the worst phone is I've ever used. It is not user friendly, slow, laggy and takes forever to load messages in apps like Teams or Emails.

Ground test point , then unblock bootloader using mtk client

Hitting any more bumps? Eh? The only way it seems is grounding the test point and it's different for CPH1723 & CPH1727. Open the motherboard & ground test point using pincher. Connect usb , run any tool that works with test point (mtk client-gui is readily available). The only way to open doors of development for this Pain in the bum model.
Your sacrifice may start development of this device.

Oh c'mon Dev, try test point!!! It's fairly simple, try mtkclient , & tell what u find.
Use this YouTube video as reference && unlock bootloader using some tool, & then root ... Might be able to experiment with some gsi stuff
So the YouTube link is completely removed by xda , I am sorry I broken some rule without knowing it , but I will help fellow members of this device by giving some info, ie , search " oppo f5 cph1727 new security unlock " with name of YouTube channel " technology 666 " , you get the method of opening motherboard, to flash rom, by grounding test point.
I support no illegal activity whatsoever. I shared this video for the purpose of sharing info on flashing rom, since with this device anything is impossible & so there is no development since 5 YRS of its launch. I hope it helps.
Go for it, unlock bootloadr using mtk client gui , or some other tool, with grounding test point , since there are no roms built till now , you can experiment with installing GSI .
Everything else is fraud or hoax , nothing else works, so try the method mentioned above with only one backdrop of its difficulty.
I tried to install Android 12 and succeeded. In my opinion, it is still smooth to use, and there are only some bugs. The installation process is very simple. First, ensure that it has been unlocked and that the underlying layer is Android 11. Second, restart to bootloader (ADB reboot bootloader) and then to FastBoot (FastBoot reboot FastBoot). Third, find the image file of arm64 / AB and install it. Finally, turn off avb2.0 verification so that you can start the experience.

Hi bro, will everything work fine on android 12 gsi, how about wifi and bluetooth function , rotation sensor ?
Hi! I'm asking the same as luizkun. What are the bugs? Does the Active Pen work? What is the overall performance?
And which GSI Image did U used? Can you make a little bit more detailed tutorial please?
I hate the original rom. Laggy, contains many bloatware apps, etc.
Thanks in advance!

You can root your device and uninstall the bloatware.
About the GSI image, he already mentioned which one to install.
For a more detailled tutorial, there are plenty in various places like this forum. Use your favorite search engine to find them.
Also make sure to create a full backup with TWRP or get yourself knowledgeable about Qualcomm's QFIL.
This tablet uses Lenovo Precision Pen 2, not Active Pen. I don't know if it works vut after you testet it, feel free to share your experience!
And regarding the smoothness, the normal p11 version is a low end device (which is totally fine) therefore one shouldn't expect a stutterfree experience.
would you be able to make a more detailed tutorial? Does it work with the stylus and keyboard cover still?

I have a snapdragon s21+ 5g Android 13. Is it possible to frp bypass with combo firmware?
If you find a working one, these days it is hard to find combination firmware!
Also, there are some online services that can help, I can recommend the Progeeksblog FRP Unlock service, but unfortunately it is not free. They also have some free guides on how to workaround it.
Disclaimer: The purpose of this guidance is only for educational purposes. I by no means encourage the illegal use or unlocking of stolen smartphones.

Yes, I am the genuine owner. I have been using my pixel.
