Hi. I am very new to Android phones, and got an unlocked Note 20 Ultra from t-mobile. I wan't to install a new android version that is generic, doesn't have t-mobile logo, and doesn't void warranty. Is it possible? If so, which version I have to use?
On the box it reads SM-N986U
Thanks!
You have to install XAA version firmware. No you will not void warranty.
Thanks. Where can I find it for my phone? Since my phone is SM-N986U, can I install SM-N986U1, or should I? Android is making me to scratch my head

Hi,
I need to carrier unlock a Verizon Samsung S8+.
I was told by one of these unlock code service sites that the Verizon S8+ cant be "code" unlocked. Can it be jailbreak unlocked?
is that possible?
Thanks in advance
its already unlocked, verizon is the only carrier that unlocked their s8+ at point of sale, just flash the 955u1 firmware and youll be good.

Hi sorry to bother again, the Prince Cosmi Odin link is dead - if I omit the flashing step, is the phone still unlocked?
I'm looking to sell it on eBay as unlocked. As long as the buyer has no problems, that's all im concerned about.
Many many thanks
edit: sorry, I misunderstood, Im downloading the official firmware to flash. Thanks

No, your iPhone is not locked.
Samsung s8+ verizon
Do I have to do anything to use my tmobile sim in this phone . I have a SM-g955u base band g955usqs2bql1, build number NRD90M-G955uSQS2BQL1?
which variant do i use for galaxy s8 from japan? Sm-G955J / SVC35
Please
variant of what? you looking to stay w/Japanese or go to another region/country?
I just want to use an operator-free rom stock, but I can still use it in Japan
Thanks for help!
What's Japan use for cell svc, GSM? Exynos phone? If so pretty much any custom Exynos ROM, with the version appropriate CSC ought to work just fine.
Maybe it's out of topic, but kinda similar with my question, and the last reply is still quite recent.
I just got a used s8+ g9550 (TGY/Hongkong). I looked at Phone Info app, it comes with Hongkong PDA & CSC (G9550ZHU1AQG6), and US version of BL & CP (G955USQU1AQGL). Still on Nougat 7.0.
It works just fine here in Indonesia. But I'm afraid it won't be getting any OTA updates since I'm not living in China. Is it actually OK to mix up the firmware (AP, CSC,BL,PDA) like that? What versions are compatible with my device?
I'm totally new here. I don't even know why there're 4 firmwares for each device, and what each one of them is for. All I know CP = Modem/Baseband, BL = Bootloader. Mind to explain it to me? Thanks

I beleive your phone is a snapdragon processor not exynos - if it is chinese, I think there may be a way to unlock the bootloader but I am not 100% sure of that. I know that the S7 Chinese was able to be unlocked but there was a special ap you had to install in order to do it.
I know I haven't helped much but I wish you good luck...

I'm looking to go US, T-Mobile to be specific. What do you suggest?
Hello guys,
I bought my brand-new Samsung S10e this year in early July and I havent received any update since the January 2020 security patch, which I assume was installed when the phone was manufactured. I was wondering if there's any issue with my firmware or anything. I have seen some recommendations for firmware flashing, I am a bit freaked out about it as I have never done it and I dont want to brick the phone. Additionally my phone is the US variant (Snapdragon) and New Zealand where I live has Exynos for the Default, further convincing me that the phone might have no compatible firmware for where I live to receive updates. I also read that it is not possible for Snapdragon to be rooted and so I was wondering if I could get comfirmation as to whether or not I could use custom ROMs. Any help, suggestions, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated, I am desperate for anything.
Phone model number: Galaxy S10e SM-G970U 128GB
Thanks in advance

Your best option is to download SamFirm 5.0 and download SM-G970U1 firmware XAA code. Youll get updates then. Search how to use SamFirm and tutorial how to flash with patched Odin.

Are you sure that I use the SM-G970U1 firmware and not the SM-G970U firmware, I just really don't want to screw it up, is there a link you could send so I'm not installing viruses? Thank you

you wouldn't have bootloader unlock and therefore no root, you posted this in the wrong section BTW.

currently one service can't unlock the newer firmwares and the other is on hiatus, maybe for the same reason.

I had to return my Canadian edition, locked bootloader.
I ended up having to buy the international model with OEM Unlock which Canadian does not.

can i replace the motherboard of the SM-G781W with a SM-G781B one? or would i be still not able to unlock the bootloader
Hello friends,
Recently I moved to Canada, I have the international model, G781B, I was wondering if it is possible to flash the canadian variant. Reason: 5G didnt work so far, tryied everything to make it work, even manually configuration of Bell network.
Comparing at the gsmarena.com, the hardware looks like the same.
I'm almost giving up and buying a new phone.

Most likely your carries uses mmwave 5g network, and international S20 FE 5g uses the other spectrums for 5g. There is no way a software flfash can change anyting, and I do not think that you can even flash software for thw wrong phone model, as odin check the BL version prior to flashing
So I snagged a Galaxy a32 5g off marketplace for $40. Dirt cheap for a phone and looks brand new basically. I would like to use it for a certain PoGo enhancer but I think it needs Magisk Hide...
The Device:
A32 5G
Model number: SM-A326U
Android 12....
Is there a proper way to downgrade to A11 or is all the downgrade tutorials fake?
If I can downgrade can I even use Magisk Hide with this device and version or am I just SoL?
I have googled and I have watcthed some YouTube videos but I honestly haven't had a Android device in so long I'm not sure which to trust and not trust.
Any help is greatly appreciated!

This looks to be a U.S. variant phone. They have their bootloaders permanently locked so you will not be able to even flash anything Magisk related.
