Hi,
Does any of you changed from CN Rom to IN Rom?
Have you tried to Restore Mi Cloud / Local BackUps?
Worked?
I will need to Flash the IN Rom since CN blocked GApps on MIUI 12.5.1.
Any plus advice is welcome.
Thank you
Hi,
For the record:
Without Root, the BackUp works partly.
Some apps can be restored just to the APK not the Data, then they can't be backed up.
I guess, You may need to Root and give the App Admin Rights, (not tested myself).
There are also other things that are not working on the Global India.

Hi,
I apologize if I post in the wrong forum. I have searched the forum and googled it as well, I think I got the answer (from this old post: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52136256#post52136256).
I just want to confirm and see if there is a newer/better alternative to restore backup data (all data in general, and apps and their data/chat history specifically) created by Smart Switch to rooted stock ROM and eventually custom ROM.
Originally I had the latest stock ROM (QL1), I backup everything using Samsung Smart Switch.
I just unlocked my bootloader and rooted my G900V (eMMC_ID = 15) using the method in here (below link) and now I'm running rooted QB2 (I plan to switch to LineageOS 14.X soon).
https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s5/general/testers-required-easier-root-method-t3561529/post71202995#post71202995
I just want to know, what's the best way to restore the apps and their data in general, or specifically chat apps' data (like chat history, login/account info, and any individual apps settings). I am ok to reinstall the apps, but I want to restore their data.
I found that Whatsapp restore its data fine (it backup its data on Google Drive), but I don't know about the rest (Line, Blackberry Messenger, and WeChat).
I found this info in how to backup and restore in LineageOS:
https://www.lineageosroms.org/forums/topic/backup-data-android-device-step-step-guide/
Is it true that these are only way I can restore?
1. Restore the backup using SmartSwitch.
2. Created backup using MyPhoneExplorer (as mentioned in LineageOS link above).
3. Switch to LineageOS.
4. Restore the backup created by MyPhoneExplorer.
Considering that I created the SmartSwitch backup when running QL1, is it possible to restore it to QB2 I am running now? I was thinking, some of those apps data could possibly have newer format.
Thanks in advance!
Trying to restore deleted files from /sdcard/Android/data/net.... which is not on an a real sdcard.
I have stock default Miui Global 10.3.5 on Android 9
The phone is unlocked.
I am on holiday, so if there is a risk it can go wrong I forget about the files...
I once rooted my Nexus 5, and used adb to obtain data from another phone.
Can I install TWRP without loosing data?
Subsequently can I install Magisk to install su, without reinstalling Miui?
Or does one has another method? (Undelete apps require root to undelete in data as well)
Thanx in advance!
I have the same problem, i cant root my Xioami mi Mix 2s
Hi all. New to the forum and based in the UK. Recently got a Redmi K30 Pro 6GB. Currently it is running MIUI 11.0.16 Stable QJKCNXM. I got the from sent from Hong Kong so unsure if it has .EU or China rom. To be honest I just switched from iOS as I've been using that for 10+ years so I'm a little unsure of the whole Android side of things even though I am quite techy.
Basically, what I want to know is:
1. Am I on China Rom or EU Rom based on what I mentioned above.
2. Is it possible to run a stock Android 10 on the phone rather than using MIUI (or any other software you recommend?)
3. If I can't do number 2, then maybe updating to MIUI 12 might fix some of the things I dislike about MIUI 11 such as delayed notifications from many apps despite them not being restricted and having all permissions enabled. Is there a MIUI12 download available with guide?
I already have made a full local backup and have also backed up to the cloud.
First post, so couldn't post in another forum which seemed more in line with what I'm asking but hoping the mods will move it if they feel the need. Thanks!

1. It's CN ROM. If during the initial setup you can only choose between English and China, it's stock CN ROM.
2. For now, you can't as there is no stock AOSP (pure) Android custom ROM yet. But you can unlock the bootloader and install Xiaomi.EU modded version of the CN ROM (both MIUI 11 and 12), which has bloated CN apps removed and is customized to be a global ROM.
3. CN MIUI 12 Stable is already available. You can check for update from your phone (Settings \ MIUI version \ Check for updates). If there is still no update, it's probably still in closed testing and will be available later.
But upgrading OS only may not fix the problem you have with the notification.
For the apps with delayed notification in either MIUI 11 or 12, you should try to turn on their Autostart option and set their Battery saver mode as No restrictions in App Info page.

Thank you. Is there any beginner/newbie guide to getting the EU rom on my phone? Doing this, do I lose everything? I have a full local backup but will that backup actually reload the chinese bloatware back on?

Yes, you will lose all data because you have to unlock the bootloader first. You can restore the backup and depending on what the backup contains, it might restore some bloatware.
Apply here for bootloader unlock
https://en.miui.com/unlock/
Then flash twrp recovery then miui eu, and restore whatever you need

Thanks. Looking at the backup folder there are plenty of the bloatware apps in there (all .bak files). If I put them all back on will I be able to delete them naturally within the phone (currently you cannot delete them from within the phone as they are blocked from being deleted). Another option is for me to remove those .bak files from the backup folder but wondering would that be an issue at all?
When you say flash TWRP....how is that done?
Thanks for all the replies so far. Really helpful!

Yes you will 100% be able to delete them afterwards, as they will be stored in data, not in the system partition which is read-only. So you can do a full restore, delete unwanted apps and then do a better backup file without bloatware.

The problem is that my nokia phone is ext4 partition while my poco x3 pro is in f2fs file system, and every time I tried to restore my backups it's ended in force encryption state and data inaccessible error.
Is there any way to disable force encryption lock?
I tried dm-verity disabler and I faced /odm partition not found error
Please help me disable it.

I don't know. I didn't use it.
Since you are using MIUI, another way to try is install Mi Mover in your Nokia and then backup from it, then restore in MIUI.
Still don't expect it can backup and restore apps fully functional, it's just another try and error.
No no I'm using Crdroid 11 the latest version
Hello,
Since my English is not the best, I translated the text via Google, hope you understand what I mean .....
Well, I now have the 13.0.1.0 SJKMIXM on it, but I would like to upgrade to Xiaomi.Eu (i editet now, i would change to this Rom Xiaomi.Eu Custom Rom), a simple dirty update is supposedly not possible, since full wipe is supposed to be mandatory: /
Well, the Poco also makes backups of APPS, settings, chats, email addresses and phone book ect.. in the Googlemail Cloud, now the question is, if I now update to the EU version and do the required full wipe, then it also plays itself really all settings, APPS, chats, email addresses ect.. back to the version or is the backup also version-specific or has someone already done it and can confirm that it works like this?
I just don't want to have to do everything again by hand :/
THX for info or tips
Kind regards

13.0.1.0 SJKMIXM global version
13.0.2.0SJKEUMX EEA version
Changing version or downgrading requires an unlocked bootloader and this operation erases all your data.
Use Miphone assistant+Micloud+google or possibly a third-party app.
Edit:
(i editet now, i would change to this Rom Xiaomi.Eu Custom Rom)
Bootloader must be unlocked if it is,you can the use update script(only Miui 13 A12) in the zip of the rom.(backup before by security).
