This error means your are flashing older firmware than what is on your phone. You will need bootloader version 8 or higher. It will be the 5th number from the right of the firmware name.

market version devices (consumer devices) aren't meant to be flashed backwards... it's set so that only the technicians/engineers working on the device can do that. You'd have to know how to unlock that security feature for you to flash backwards on your own.

[G925P] Firmware Downgrade and Rev Check Error

Hello.
I have a Sprint Galaxy S6 Edge [G925P] that I'm trying to downgrade from 6.1.1 to 5.1.1, but every time I try to flash 5.1.1 from Odin, my S6 gives me the "SW Rev Check Error. Device 3 Binary 1" (at the download mode).
Does anybody knows why, and how can I fix it?

S7 SM-G930W8 8.0 sp nov 18. Need help dg to 7.0

Hey, I'm trying to downgrade this phone but just cant figure it out. Trying to use odin but its not working. Phone says sw rev check fail(bootloader) device 5 binary 3.

[URGENT] Error SW CHECK CHECK FAIL: [aboot] Fused 5> Binary 1

Hello everyone !
I have a serious problem on my cell phone and I am desperate to solve it, I am even willing to reward for help (I mean it).
I have a Galaxy S8 (SM-G950U1 SnapDragon), I bought it at BestBuy Mobile and unfortunately do not know which carrier it is.
I was trying to do Root in it, but it was giving failure, it appeared the following message:
Error SW CHECK CHECK FAIL: [aboot] Fused 5> Binary 1
From what I understand I'm trying to flash an AP / PDA / Firmware in a different version, but how can I find out which version to download the correct firmware?
Thank you !!!

sw rev. check fail(bootloader) device 8 binary 6

i cant flash stock rom (INS) pie version using oding 14.1, i did try using xtc firmware it says sw rev. check fail(bootloader) device 8 binary 6 too. how to fix this?? please help
Hello! sw rev. check fail(bootloader) device 8 binary 6 means that the ROM you have downloaded has a binary 6 while the device has a binary 8. In Android, or at least Samsung phones you cannot go to a lower binary than the one present in your device. Basically the only fix I believe is to download a ROM that has a binary of 8. If you do not know what binary it has I will leave a screenshot showing which number signifies a binary (Only mind the number in the binary, the U is a part of that but you just need to look at the number when you're downloading the correct ROM).
download latest stock
You have updated your device to Binary 8. Which means you have an updated bootloader. Samsung no longer allows the bootloader to be downgraded so you are stuck there. Anyways there's no worries. There are alot of ROMs and mods to use that you may enjoy.
Bootloop
Hi. Sorry for my bad English.
My problem is that despite uploading the rom, my phone is in a loop and uploading the rom does not help. Please help.

Hi. Thanks for the suggestion, but unfortunately after successfully uploading the latest software from my region (XEO) nothing changes. The phone is rebooting and it's still looped.
Region - firmware:
sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-j6/firmware/SM-J600FN/XEO/download/J600FNXXU8CTF5
I can go to Download Mode and Recovery.
I guess there is something wrong with Recovery.
The recovery on my phone looks like this:
Android Recovery
samsung/j6ltexx/j6lte
10/QP1A. 190711.020/J600FNXXU8CTF5
user/release-keys
Android Recovery
samsung/j6ltexx/j6lte
10/QP1A. 190711.020/J600FNXXU8CTF5
user/release-keys
Sorry, but I connected to the topic and I think I should start a new topic with my problem.
I am asking the moderator for information or to move my posts to the right place. Thank you.

SM-G930P fails to flash/root

I've been trying to root my Galaxy s7 - G930P, but it fails every time,
OEM unlock is set to true, USB debugging enabled, PC whitelisted. //not sure if that last one matters
Device information:
samsung/heroqltespr,
android: 8.0.0,
firmware: R16NW/G930PVPSBCTA1
Snapdragon
I've followed a few tutorials, First I tried https://bit.ly/3fXMHwa (The original link was censored for some reason.), but it failed. No error in odin.
The second was https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s7/how-to/samsung-galaxy-s7-sm-g930p-root-xposed-t3502829, Also a fail. This time the error was something like FAIL! (auth) I've got a snip for this one https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/710567590342426684/712349332757544991/unknown.png
Both times there's been an error on the phone, SW REV CHECK FAIL : Fused 11 > Binary 1
Is there any kind of documentation for odin errors?
ADB drivers & environment are properly installed, odin run as administrator when I use it, I removed google accounts on the device, I think I saw somewhere google accounts might interfere with flashing.
I also tried flashing TWRP , but the error was 'secure check fail : recovery'
My friends and I don't know what to do, any suggestions? I can't flash any firmware other than current.
I was able to flash my current firmware.
I can't think if I missed anything, Alexa#9029 is my discord tag if anything more is needed.

The failure "Rev Check Fail" means the root file your trying to flash is for a much earlier version of the firmware which no longer works.
You need to find a root method which works on Version 11 of the firmware. Fused=firmware version on the phone, Binary=firmware/root version your trying to use. You cannot flash firmware or root which is older than which is already on the device.
It a pain in the ass I'm afraid. The S7 is an older phone and developers have moved on creating roots for the newer phones.
Thanks
Is there any way to root? I don't really care how complex or difficult, I just want root access. If not is there a way to change boot animation without root?
Thanks for the information though, now I at least understand what the error means. For some reason I can't find any docs on errors.
Any idea why flashing twrp won't work? Is it because it's also old?
I forgot to mention this in the original post:
---------------------------------
ODIN MODE (HIGH SPEED)
PRODUCT NAME: SM-G930P
CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official
SYSTEM STATUS: Official
FRP LOCK: OFF
WARRENTY VOID: 0x0
QUALCOM SECUREBOOT: ENABLE
RP SWREV: B11(2.1.1.1.1) K11 S11
SECURE DOWNLOAD : ENABLE
//error
SECURE CHECK FAIL : recovery
---------------------------------
Error when flashing TWRP heroqltechn I picked this one because I know my devices is not Exynos,
PROCESSOR Type - Qualcomm Snapdragon 820
GPU - Adreno 530
dude s7 qualcomm models cant be rooted because of qualcomm secure boot and no one has made to break it
I also have the same cell phone SAMSUNG GALAXY S7 MODEL: G930P, ANDROID 8.0 OREO, FIRMWARE: G930PVPSBCTA1, I am also interested in having root access.
Does someone has the stock firmware for the SM-G930P? I'm stuck with a bricked one I think, It had a G930V rom installed, so I managed to reinstall it once and it got working for a week but with random reboots, and then it got stuck on bootloop till today, I've tried a lot of SM-G930P rom variants without luck, they install correctly but when it reboots, it says "recovery booting" and it never boots... I only know it is binary version 11, if i try to install any other binary version it will give me error..
