This phone doesn't even have A/B partitioning, are you sure you have correct TWRP and flashing correct ROM for this device?

Problem while flashing a new ROM

My phone is rooted. I have CM recovery installed. I am trying to flash a ROM but the installation is failing at 47%. It shows this message "Detected filesystem ext4 for /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system" and restarts the phone. When I try to wipe data or wipe media from recovery it restarts the phone. Even if I try to install from emulated storage it restarts the phone. I think there is something wrong with the storage. Can anyone help?

Hi, are you on latest version of CWM corresponding to your phone model ? (let us know what phone model too )
Have you tried to flash and try with TWRP's latest version for your model ? (what's model, once again...)
What rom are you trying to flash (brand and build) ? Is your bootloader up to date ?
Not easy to help you without some precise informations...

I had TWRP earlier. But it suddenly stopped working. I tried to reflash it didn't work. Then I tried CWM which was flashed successfully but was freezing. Currently, I have the latest recovery by CyanogenMod. It works fine.
My phone is Moto G XT-1033 (falcon).
I haven't updated my bootloader. I will try doing it.
Thank you
I am facing same problem in twrp recovery but now everything working fine after flashing stock recovery and twrp again

Question SIM not working :)

Sorry to bother you, but I have a little problem and I need your help.
I have Lenovo Phab Plus,
Recently flashed stock rom by QcomDloader
But after that system was taking about 30gb of storage
I was supposed to factory reset but I accidentally erased all by the same flash tool above,
And now SIM not working
I think the solution is to mount modem partition from recovery but the stock recovery doesn't have that option , so I installed TWRP recovery and also rooted according to this link
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/help/install-twrp-rooting-phab-plus-rooting-t3290347
But everytime I check to mount modem , TWRP returns to default after restarting.
TWRP at first said something about leaving system unmodified for official updates ,but actually I don't know how that could affect mounting.
Could you help me please to fix SIM problem
Thank you and sorry for the long message .

I know this is a bit old, but hear me out.
This device have a ton of country variant, once you flash a wrong one, it will never work even if you flashed your original modem image. I have this problem and I looked for places that might have modem images for my device which it worked and fixed my WiFi issues but not SIM cards. Just never flash the wrong one and take a backup always.

Partitions

Hello everyone,
I don't know much about partitions but I know something is not right with mine
So, A few days ago my phone got bricked because I flashed crDroid rom. (I did something wrong)
So, after a lot of research, I found an solution to unbrick my phone. So it worked, I booted into software again and I was free to use.
So later, I decided to install an custom rom again (Havoc OS). I installed the rom but after I clean flashed the rom, I got stuck on booting logo.
So, I thought lets see what partition B does. So I booted into partition B and I got stuck on the logo of TWRP. Not sure why.
I really wanna know why this happend and how to fix my device.
(Btw, now my phone is working again and I am on stock os with rooted using Magisk 16,7.)
But just wanna know what I did wrong
I used the instruction in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6/development/enchilada-romcrdroid-t3827070. And after I did that it got bricked.
I hope anyone knows what happend and how to fix my partition!
Friendly regards,
Crewz
Hi, why you get stuck and what not is because you simply do not follow the instructions 100%
After rom install and twrp install did you reboot? When you reboot at that point it will change partition.
If you get stuck on boot again, try reflash rom (without wipes), flash twrp, reboot to recovery, flash gapps and start the device. Apply root after setup this time just to be sure. Another thing could also be magisk, some roms require a later magisk version. But like I said, root after setup just to be sure where the issue is . Happy flashing mate!

If you're booted up and stable there's nothing wrong with your partitions.
What version of twrp are you using?

Which version? There are multiple "newest" ones.
Just because you have two slots doesn't mean both are bootable. The intent of the A/B arrangement is to allow seamless updates, not create a dual-boot phone. The inactive slot is often not bootable or will boot up with things broken. It's inactive because it's not suppose to be booted.
Switching slots manually is rarely necessary anyway. Why do you need to do it?

Can't install custom ROMs. Help!!!

Few days earlier I had to use MSM tool as my OP6 only went to Crash Dump mode everytime.
So after flashing the tool, everything went back to normal, but since then I can't get any custom ROM to install on my phone. whenever I do flash the rom and then twrp, I reboot to recovery for flashing gapps, it takes me to fastboot mode instead and never boots.
Evidently, I have installed Omni, Havoc and all the other roms before. What can the problem be? Any help please?
I supposed you read the instructions and flashed to both slots? Or did you do like most and skip a few steps?
Hi!
I am in the same situation : MSM tool and then I can no longer install custom rom. Have you resolved the problem ?
Thanks !

Did you flash oos to both slots? Like the comment above yours tells him to.
People need to read. This already been discussed over and over.
I didn't understand in the previous post that it is OOS that need to be flash twice, not the custom rom. Thanks whizeguy !
The OP6 is my first device with this A / B. I read a lot about this A / B and I think I understand it. But I'm going to install this ROM https://forum.xda-developers.com/o...eally so stupid? Can some one help me please?
Have you tried the new Blue Spark TWRP?

Why are you trying to wipe twice lol
Steps:
Wipe data, system, dalvik.
Reboot recovery. Flash ROM and twrp
Reboot twrp and the slot auto switches then flash rom and twrp a second time and flash gapps
Done.

If i boot in to twrp, flash the rom and twrp, go to reboot -> recovery: the screen stays black and does not reboot in to recovery.
I tried twrp-3.2.3-1-enchilada and twrp-3.2.3-x_blu_spark_v9.86_op6
After hours of trying, the phone booted one time the new rom. Now i'm back on the stock rom, because OP of the ROM listed features which are not included.

Question PROBLEM INSTALLING ARROWOS

Hi
I installed ArrowOS and when I try to go back to TWRP, there isn´t any password even tho I have one on my device.
The thing is that when I enter it shows that there isn't any storage in the phone (0mb - imposible) so I can't wipe all data nor install other ROMS because it isn't reading the internal storage.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem? It doesn't matter if I have to factory reset or delete all data, or install another ROM, but knowing that it is not a cable problem, I would like to know if I should use other TWRP version (and how to do it) because I can't even seem to do that.
The tutorial I installed the ROM was this, but instead of ArrowOS11, the 12 in my POCO X3 PRO:
Most likely using incorrect / old TWRP. Use https://twrp.me/xiaomi/xiaomipocox3pro.html
Edit: Android 12 ROM's cannot be decrypted yet.
So should I just wait? Thanks for the fast reply!
No recovery can decrypt android 12 data yet.
You can still format the said data though and if twrp doesn't allow you to do so, try using orangefox instead.
You also can install or update rom and other stuffs (that doesn't access data) via sideload.
If you want to install magisk then you need to do the boot.img and related thingy.
Is there a recovery to decrypt android 12 data yet? I've been trying decrypting since 2 months ago and didn't find any answer.
Did you try Orangefox?

Wouldn't make a difference, it's a limitation faced by all custom recoveries and OrangeFox is based on TWRP.
@Toflamo You can try flashing a ROM from the SD Card or ADB sideload, but the SD card flash would less of a hassle. None of the recoveries as of now support decryption, might take a while to overcome that limitation.
Ngl I don't know how to ADB sideload and don't have any SDs rn to flashing it, so it seems I would have to wait until some recoveries can do it. From now on I'm staying with ArrowOS12 on my PocoX3Pro, even tho battery performance isn't as good as I expected.
Thanks so much everyone, you've been very helpful!
I will come back in some months to check if there is any tool to overcome the decryption problem of Android 12.
