So I have been playing around the audiowizard settings hoping it helps my gaming hearing experience, but no matter what I try it seems the same to me! Do I need an ASUS head set to get it to work or dose it has no effect on the gaming in general?
Supposedly it applies to everything, but probably more noticeable with a headset (not necessarily from Asus)

Hi! I'm interested in buying the Desire Z, but I'm not familiar with the sound quality on A2DP headphones on Android. On WM there are settings like bitpool in the registry that can change the quality a lot, but as far as I read, there are no such settings on Android and the quality is really bad.
Is it true or is there a way to change some settings to improve quality? This is really important to me and I don't think I would be buying a phone that can't play my music properly.
My htc hero and car stereo utilizes A2DP perfectly, streaming audio to car speakers. Have not noticed any bad quality, not åk expert though
Sent from my HTC Hero using XDA App
Thank you for your reply, I'm hoping that I will be able to hear it myself sometime soon and see how it sounds.
Btw, have you had any disconnects and things like that?
I tested my jabra BT320s on a desire I have access to and the A2DP was spot on, it used the handsfree function aswell without issue pausing the music then carrying on after the call etc...
Am impressed, this was with stock tmobile UK firmware aswell.
Only personal experience
I have to say that when compared to Nokia N900 the a2dp sound quality doesn't seem to be as good. The music sounds somehow thinner. To make these comparisons I have used the same media files, same nokia bh-214 handsfree and same sennheiser mx550 headphones.
I hope it is possible to somehow tweak the a2dp sound quality since i think it's all a question of a2dp audio quality settings.
It has the be said though that in contrast to nokias bluetooth implementation the android one does handle switching from music to phone calls and back quite flawlessly.

I am looking to buy a home audio system, however unlike most people I don't want a big sound system for listening to movies or playing music really loud. My goal is to be able to play music throughout the house at low enough levels where you can talk over it.
I just want to place a bunch of small speakers on the cieling in different rooms as well is on the back porch.
I have a Mac Computer, Galaxy Nexus, and Transformer Prime. All of which can play all of my music. On top of that I have GoogleTV (Logitech Revue).
What is my best option for home audio (preferably through Google Music)?
Is my best bet to wait for "[email protected]"?
I have a bunch of old surround sound speakers that I don't use anymore, can I use those for low volume music playing? Don't want to spend $1000 on this...
what system you use doesn't matter that much, its controlling how your going to get the music from your music cloud (i'm assuming for you google music) to the rooms
your logitech revue can now use google music app
furthermore with the RF emitter of your logitech revue, your phone would be able to control your surround sound components from anywhere in the house..
or you can set up some type of media server on a computer and run that to audio system VIA HDMI
and there is a plethora of apps to control a media server remotely from your android device
checkout out plex media server or similiar solutions
for your actual system check out nuvo technologies
is a good place to start, these are really expensive though
or google HTD
be forwarned, whole house audio solutions aren't cheap
My Setup:
Crappy computer with a good sound card and windows and Spotify on it
This is connected to my 10.2 (5.1 of these are used for my surround sound in the living room, the other 5.1 are on a different channel and are used for around house audio) via HDMI
This surround sound system is programmed into my Logitech Revue Harmony software, thus allowing the control of it through my phone
I also have Spotify remote control app on my phone to control spotify on the crappy computer, thus allowing volume and content control all from the phone... hope this helps!
And yes, you can use your existing surround sound speakers as long as they use generic audio cable (black/red), you would just need to buy a central reciever and run all of your wires through the house, for what your talking any surround sound reciever will work, a good one with 5+ channels should run you max 600 bucks and that is MAX you could get in the 300 range if you wanted.
Best solution for you IMO would be to hook your logitech revue up to whatever audio solution you get and play google music through that
Awesome, thanks for the very detailed reply.
I think I will look for an inexpensive receiver and use my Revue. My only question now is how do I hook up my GoogleTV to a receiver?
I do not want my tv to run through the audio system, I want to play tv through the tv speakers.
A more expensive route (but the best quality and noob friendly) would be a set of Sonos.
I have a media center based on Windows Media Center .All works very well.
Hey guys, I was wondering if any audiophiles could help me out.
I am looking to purchase a new headunit, my minimum requirements are 6channel 2.5V or greater pre-amps, built in HD-Radio, and A2DP support.
The problem I am seeing with A2DP support is that they all seem to transmit at low sound quality, have hissing, popping, skipping, clipping at low sound levels etc. I read that this is due to the standard codec being SBC, which compresses depending on processing power used. I do not know how the Atrix handles SBC, and would prefer it to directly pass my 320KB/S MP3 codec, which is a capability of A2DP, I just don't know if any manufacturers utilize it yet.
Is this technology not ready for the mainstream yet? I have a lot of 320KBPS MP3's and I would like to be able to listen to them at full volume until my speakers clip, and not suffer actual technical limitations.
I have a Motorola Atrix, as well as the car dock, so the car dock does have an easily accessible 3.5mm jack, but I was really hoping to take advantage of A2DP and maybe use built in hands free calling.
Sorry if this is a dup, tried searching and looked at similar threads, and there were none that had any legitimate answers.
Hey XDA,
my question is related to the mics of bluetooth headsets.
Is it possible to disable them and use the one of the phone instead ? (The audio quality gets bad when calling with the bluetooth mic, I mean it should be better when disabling it).
SoundAbout doesn't work (incompatibility with Oreo ig) and other Apps don't have what i need.
Same goes to wired headphones with inline mics (since the one i use is crackling).
I'm thankful for any tries or hints on how I could make it work.
Have a nice day!:good:
Phone: LeMax2
Rom: RR 6.0.0 - Oreo 8.1.0
same problem here. I cannot find the solution.
This is just what I've been looking for.
This is how I think it goes: there's different channels where sounds goes, one is what you use for almost all media, (another one is that is used when you enable media player to play along with others or play games (not sure)), and one that where calls are. "Call mode" is what makes sound crappy and I think that microphone is related crappy sound too, because it needs more Bluetooth bandwidth to transfer mic and audio data at the same time. Reasoning behind those different channels is because I have screenrecorder which can record system sounds too, but it cannot record when phone uses Bluetooth earphones mic(when it is in "call mode"). And there's more why I think it is so: I always get notification that I'm in call even if I play pubg with microphone access enabled but don't use microphone or use live video platforms like Microsoft teams or Google meet. Also sound control is same as in normal voice call: can't really mute sound fully and if Bluetooth disconnects, it plays audio from phones speaker when in normal media player it pauses it or continues playing sound in same level as last used volume level on phone speaker.
I'm currently looking way to make audio of those "calls" go as media audio and make it use mic from phone. And also making discord channel for Android users to discuss about things like these and find useful features to make use of android much easier.
Correct if I'm wrong about anything stated earlier..
And if you have any tips where I could find more specific info on this.
I found way to make it use phones mic and thus making sound quality better
I used this "mic speaker" from play store. Unfortunately I don't yet have access to post links.
Edit: sorry, wrong call. Something happened in sound quality, but it's still crappy compared to wired earphones
I'm sorely upset with how bad the bluetooth music streaming is with my Hizpo Branded XRC MTCE. I'm to the point where I want to dump it and get something else since the one thing I wanted when I bought it was good music streaming. From all my reading on here, it seems like this is a major issue with all MCTD/MTCE units, is that true? Does anyone actually have a MTCD/E unit that has decent sounding bluetooth audio streaming?
Short answer YES. Long answer, search.
Ive spent hours searching with no definitive answer.

The fyt based units have great a2dp streaming, no issues here. Most common reseller of these is joying.

Are these MTCD/E's? Im not familiar with FYT. What's the best way to identify these?
anyone have a good way of identifying if a unit is MTCD/E or FYT? I want to pick up a bmw e46 specific fyt unit..
I suffered with poor a2dp Bluetooth streaming for quite a while on a GS (xtrons) android 6 headunit and on my current GS android 8 headunit.
Last week I did the sound mod with the modded mcu and improved amplifier app which improved my sound quality dramatically.
I then set about trying to improve the poor a2dp sound yet again and managed to kind of get it near perfect but not quite.
It was down to the sound settings on the EQ on my iPhone. I Bluetooth stream my music from my phone using Apple Music. I went into settings and then music and in there is the EQ setting. This has many settings like rock, pop, etc etc and mine was previously set by me to Bass Booster so my phone was set to a Bass setting and then the headunit is set more to a Bass setting so this must have been too much as I always got a distorted sound in the background when using a2dp. So in the EQ on my Iphone I set it to off. Instantly the sound is 10 times better as now it’s just my headunit producing bass etc etc. This has bugged me for over a year including my old headunit and now compared to what it were like before I’m finally happy with the quality of music through the a2dp app.

very interesting. I just checked my iphone and the EQ was set to 'electronic' I changed it to flat. Lets see how that does.
Did you do the 7thfloor mod? Did that, at all, help the a2dp streaming situation?
the EQ change made no difference. still distortion at the upper frequency range.

No, the mod I have done is the bd375 sound processor mod with the modded GS mcu and new amplifier app.
Once I completed that then I fine tuned the EQ settings to my liking on the headunit. Then on my iPhone I went to settings and music and turned the EQ off. I tried all the EQ settings on my iPhone but nothing was as good as when I set it to OFF.
Now I’ve done this I wouldn’t say the sound is perfect through a2dp Bluetooth but it’s a hell of a lot better than what it were before.
