Question Will my X3 Pro even work? - Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro

Hello!
I am based in the US and bought what was listed as a X3 NFC - International version in Shadow Grey however the seller sent a X3 Pro Phantom black on the bottom of the phone packaging on top of the cellophane wrapper there is a barcode sticker.
At the top of the barcode sticker it says "Xiaomi POCO X3 Pro 128GB EU BL..." in the center of the sticker is a barcode, under the barcode there is a 10 digit alphanumeric number with the word NEW being under it. At the very bottom of the sticker it says "MIA-pocoX3Pro128GBBlack" Now I am currently on Cricket Wireless and I know the X3 NFC would not of worked on this network, my plan was to switch to the Google Fi network as all that is needed is bands 2 and 4 in the US for the phone to work with this carrier.
Now here come my questions as I have yet to open this phone and I am not that familiar with ROM's and frequency bands!
Because this phone mentioned EU in the sticker will this phone work in the US
Is the EU version technically the Global version?
When I review the Kimovil frequency checker for this phone I only see Global or India ..I don't see an EU option to determine if this phone will work?
If this is an EU phone is this related to the ROM ...Is this specifically tied to the type of MIUI updates you receive? I only really bother with the Google Play store and would want to ensure that the play store I access is the US version for apps.
When checking frequencycheck there are different versions of the X3 Pro such as Bhima and Vayu ....I have no idea what I have?
My main worry is whether this phone will work with Google Fi in US and if I can download from the Google US play store, I do not have much knowledge about the above questions and would greatly appreciate those in the community who could assist.
Many thanks

Bhima is only in India.
The box should have Phone model written.
Box example:
POCO Community
c.po.co

You sure are full of questions, hope you do some research next time instead of asking them.
That being said here are the best answers I can come up with:
EU version is different ROM. And yes, it will work outside EU, not sure about the frequency bands tho.
No, EU is based on chinese ROM and also has more features but updates take longer and you may have to apply them manually. While Global is for devices outside china and has full support for google services.
All I know is India model supports band 2 frequency but not 4, while Global supports both.
Don't worry about updates, as for play store any google Android has it man...
You said you don't have NFC, which means you have Vayu. The difference between Bhima and Vayu is the NFC support, other than that they're the same.
Google Fi uses frequency bands 2, 4, 12, 66, 71. While your device only supports 2 and 4 it would still work, but poorly inside buildings and such.
Google play store uses your location - You don't have to enable location access - to present to you it's apps, since you're in US you will get US apps.
You didn't get finessed, you can't find any phone with same specs and as cheap as this, you'll just have to cope with poor network inside buildings. As for updates, like I said, don't worry about them.

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. It will work
4. Global / EEA is just different ROM
5. You most likely have Global variant "Vayu" with NFC which support both B2 and B4 bands
Global ROM:
This is the official worldwide ROM for all countries except China
The Global ROM has also a Beta Program
The Global ROM receives updates every 1 to 2 months
EEA ROM:
This ROM was specifically designed for EU countries
During the first setup, one can disable all ads inside Mi Apps globally, whereas in the Global ROM, one needs to do that in the Apps themselves
The EEA ROM doesn't have a Beta program
Updates seem to be slower

You are mixing up stuff with Xiaomi.EU ROM. Do you realize this is a custom ROM that requires unlocked bootloader? There is not a single Xiaomi or POCO phone sold with it?
Xiaomi / POCO phones comes with either Global, EEA or China firmware.
Xiaomi.EU is custom ROM just like Pixel Experience or LineageOS, it's just based on official firmware.

Did you see the word "official" in my post?
I'm saying EU is based on chinese ROM, and updates takes longer and he may have to apply them himself. Which are all true.
Also he didn't state where he bought the device from, it may be second hand or a scalper, who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

you could also install CPU-Z to see the model, it will tell you the variant

I didn't know if the Google play store app was pre installed or if it was installed by region but it seems the location is auto detected and the relevant play store is used? If I have vayu does that mean the pro does not have NFC capability but the cheaper X3 NFC does ...you thought for the Pro being the superior model it would.

Poco X3 pro (vayu) definitely has NFC.
Go into setting >> connection & sharing, find NFC setting.

It's global bro, it will work. Check for NFC support, it's region dependent in pro version.
As stated in it's home page, Availability varies between markets.

The numbers of version is not important.
The important thing is what in the round brackets.
12.0.3.0 (RJUIDXM).
That's why I told you to post a screenshot.
What is written in the round brackets? Make sure you type it right because a single alphabet change is a different phone from different region.

Apologies if this question is straying from my initial question but is there a way you can view an older phone that has a cracked screen without replacing the screen? I have a smashed poco F1 and rather than getting a new screen for it I was wondering if there is a cable that I can attach to the PC or tv that will display the screen, I want to retrieve some notes I saved and saved passwords.

Zenfone 3 (ZE520KL) simple unboxing and testing

Original post from my blog: https://www.ewjy.pw/asus-zf3-unboxing-en/
Actually, some of the photos were retaken afterwards.
I bought a Asus Zenfone 3 as the new main phone several days before, the model number is ZE520KL. I was very nervous because that was the first unboxing I had ever did. The original video was cancelled due to technical problems and I used pictures instead. Alright, here are the appearances:

Comparison of the old and new main phones (I was forced to change due to upturned screen and broken ear proximity sensor, etc.)
Performance of displaying picture
For music player, it is Google Play Music by default.

A final screenshot, did you find something weird? I am not sure whether it is a bug or it is true.
The responding speed of fingerprint module is quite fast, about 1(+/-1)s. In my opinion, it is quite cost-effective.
This is the first unboxing and testing of mine, there are many mistakes, I apologize for that.

Oops I might be misunderstood. After double checking, I found that ZE552KL has two versions with 3/4GB RAM+32/64GB ROM. The main difference between 520KL and 552KL is the screen size (5.2" for 520 and 5.5" for 552). Sorry for misleading you.

Yes, this phone supports dual SIM and dual active, but the SIM2 and the microSD card share the same slot, so you have to choose between SIM2 or microSD (i.e. you cannot insert SIM2 if you inserted microSD card).

It looks gorgeous, but the fp placement ruined it
I prefer the front fp placement because of unlocking from the table right away without lifting the phone. The Huawei phone with rear fp, will have on screen navigation keys (= less screen estate) as Huawei barely uses Capacitive ones. And i think this shape takes least space compared to the round iphone or on the meizu phone. So ease of use and maximum usage of front bottom bezel.
The best fp placement is on the side (in the power button)

Make sure you get an unlocked version and see if setting up english language works for you as changing the system language is easy but apps still shows chinese. And also, you may need to work and put some effort in getting google work. ( no google framework or playstore).
Do check properly and get some hands on rather ordering online or checking a dummy handset.

Yep. I really have a hard time believing this. However, if someone does get some version of the OS that is different to what we have, and we see some screen shots, then I'll believe. I need this to be verified among MULTIPLE credible Android sites and some people who actually have the device with pics to back up their claims IN HAND.
Until then, I'm not buying it.

It says he will have global rom phones on 17th of September - lets wait and see
PS: Interesting - Xiaomi started global version yesterday for Mimax 3, which is like 2 months later after starting it in China market:

If I understand correctly you can install this rom on an existing chinese rom. Did anybody have an asian/chinese Honor phone recently and could comment if a global version could have been installed in it?
[EDITED:ADDED] Also, is there anything additional to expect from a global rom? Even in chinese version you can set language to english, uninstall most of the bloatware, have google play, so would there be any advantages if global version would actually be launched?

Have you activated any particular settings to make the Google Maps history work?
In Maps settings, under Personal Content, I can read "Location history is not active" but by pressing on the text I can not activate it.
The settings on the position instead is active.
Now it's past September 17th, has the global rom come out?
I come from Honor Note 8 and never comes out an Global Rom.I make Roms for the HN8 with deleted China Apps and integrated Google Apps.I think for Honor Note 10 is the same,we see never a Global Rom and nobody can make Roms without unlock Bootloader!Only we can uninstall the most China Apps and uninstall System Apps with ADB Shell.
Honor Note 10/Note 8 is for Chinese Market and not a for Europe!

Hi letschky,
does the history on Google maps work for you?
Su Honor note 8 is activated without problems, on Honor Note 10 I can not activate the voice.
It does not even display the page where you see the devices associated with your Google Maps history account.

He he, you probably did not have HN8 at home? So, I had a "chinese" rom, and I used it for years without a problem ... ? Google pay works great, only when problems go to the bank ... ?
first time using the honor brand (note 10).... nice phone overall. best value compared with samsung A8 Star.

General Share Rom Black Shark 4 - 4 Pro | Global Rom - China Rom

Hello, nice to see you again in a new thread.
I hope that all of you, as a non-specialist user, please do not arbitrarily interfere with the device without specific instructions from us. However, you are the hardworking bees that will help us a lot.
Every time the device says an update, go to file manager - internal storage - ota_package and copy that file to another folder, then share it here for everyone to reuse.
I have now copied the MP4 version of the china rom - Black Shark 4, and am happy to share it here.
Download link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1sXhbaeqUUUGYn7PSRqQgVl9-UKaH7G9x/view?usp=sharing
Thanks for sharing. hopefully you can share unlocking and twrp soon. By the way, so the china Rom is at MP4 now? while global Rom has just released the MP1. way too delayed.
Thinking to buy the Chinese version 6/128 for around 320€ (around Poco F3 price), but so scared about the software updates and unlock bootloader/twrp/root.
Appart from the amazing work of @SFMobile Channel , there are some devs behind this quite amazing hardware-price device?? How many chances do you have to unlock completely this phone?
Sry for this "idiot" questions, but I'm sure more people thinking to buy this phone are interested on it
Is it okay to update via ota? Using the file you shared above? Is it okay to update the global rom with that?

Please contact my personal fb, I will assist you with this problem.
Maybe BLU can be done if you cooperate? If the meaning of Hard WORK is just to burn a Chinese ROM, I'm not interested in that, but

Thats not a solution. You need to install Google Services Framework 11 to get the full Google experience, chat updates etc. But version 11 is blocked to be installed by default (or by law in that sense)

I have a Black shark 4. As soon as i install the chinese rom i will let you know how is it going for me.
I have a black shark 4 pro with the china rom. Most google apps work, after you install the files you see on youtube videos. The problem is google assistant doesn't work, neither does google maps. They start up then crash or don't start up at all. I hope there will soon be a way to flash to a global rom, i didn't know how much i used those two google apps until i wasn't able to use them.

For google maps, you must sign out of your account. Turn on airplane mode>open google maps>setting>sign out>Close maps>Off airplane mode>open maps and use it as usual. Can use maps but cannot link to your google. Its the only way for now.

Question Some Qs on this phone

Hello everyone.
I'm a fresh owner of a Poco X3 Pro 8+256, EU version, up-to-date.
I have some questions and I hope someone can answer:
1. Reception is... deficient! I mean, using same operator, I have - in the same "almost blind spot", better signal with my old Huawei Mate 10 Lite rather with this. Does someone else noticed same? Is there any way to improve?
2. I miss my call recording. On my old one, stuck at Android 8, I used ACR. On this one ACR doesn't work. The only one, stupid proof, is BoldBeast Call Recorder. Do you have others to propose?
3. I don't dig much some of the default apps, like Dialer (it's stock Google Dialer) and others. Do you have some alternatives to default apps, but not requiring root?
4. Is there a cheatsheet to stuff to do before using the phone as a daily driver? Apart debloating...
5. Speaking of debloating, does it really change something in the experience? Is there a safe list for bloatware to uninstall?
6. Does this phone has the possibility of video output through USB-C? If so, how to do it?
7. Is there a list of codes to try for this phone?
Thank you in advance for taking time to read this and to reply.

Some can use alternative, some cannot change without root.

Can be used as daily driver as is. Everything depend on what you want to use.

It does to some point, for battery preservation and less ads.
XiaomiADBFastbootTools (Java)
https://github.com/Szaki/XiaomiADBFastbootTools
The apps listed in the program are consider safe to remove. In case anything went wrong, you can re-install them back.
Some apps will still broke some functions if you debloat it. Try and error.

Simply, by seeing that I have no signal with X3 Pro while with the Mate 10 Lite I was having two bars of signal and 4G internet connection.

Some codes like factory/hidden menu,, disabling/enabling functions and so on. You know, codes to digit from the Dialer.

Change the 4G band of both phone to be using the same band to check if the signal is really not working.
4G signals have different bands. Different phones have different bands using. And even same model phones, in different countries, they have different bands.
If you buy Redmi K40 (from China), you may have signal problem in the US. Poco F3 (Global) has better signal coverage compare to Redmi K40 outside China. Even if Redmi K40 has same spec as Poco F3, it still has this problem.
Use NetMonster app to check what bands using.
