Great work!
When rebooting to fastboot through OF reboot menu, the touch function does not work to reboot or activate adb. Would that need a otg mouse for long? That defeats adb. It's like rock-paper-scissors... Sd-otg-adb! Lol. Also changing the theme or background or color of OF did not stick. As for everything else. Perfect! Thanks alot for this. Ik my recovery gave me a headache thinkin about it.
*edit*
Theme color change stuck. The splash is what doesn't stick. Sorry.
Great work btw.
Unlocked, rooted, XT2131-1
Doesn't boot with fastboot boot, and fastboot flash recovery, recovery isn't a valid partition name.

I am using this recovery on XT2115 moto G Stylus 2021. Almost Perfectly I may add. It was made for the Minsk codename device. I highly doubt it will function on the moto G Stylus 5g XT2131 unless you port from it and rebuild a new version specifically for the 5g XT2131 variant. Use AIK tool. That doesn't take too much to do. Here's a link on how to proceed with a port.

Or you could try to build one the ol fashioned way.
Will this work with all variants of the 2115? I have a boost mobile version of this phone and wouldn't mind having custom recovery... Tho with that I will probably have to do my own builds of lineage or e

Yes this recovery works absolutely fine on the boost xt2115. I am currently running it on my boost mobile moto G stylus 2021. Very few issues and is all around a great recovery for it.

So the .img file would go into the SDK/platform-tools folder? Also, I read in the guide that we are supposed to have the orange fox zip downloaded on our phones as well, and run that once the recovery is installed. But I guess this instruction is just for other phones?
Has everyone else here that used this for the XT2115 just flashed it using fastboot, booted into the recovery upon restart, and its good to go?

So this is essentially a custom version of TWRP right? Just debating on whether to install this or the version of regular TWRP that someone here was finally able to get stable.

Yes just barely a custom version. It has a handful of display settings and such.... It works, I just discovered that rebooting fastboot touch function didn't work which kinda sucks.
So there's a TWRP that's stable? Can you direct me??
As for me I'm looking and waiting for any type of custom ROM or GSI ..
I'm at the point I can flash a GSI Treble image without bootloops and all .. only problem is no phone no messages because it's unable to read my sim or something.
So at least I have root with magisk. It'll keep me occupied for another score or two.
Keep in touch if you see anything of interest.
TTFN.
I am new to this phone. I just purchased an unlocked US version. I assume the bootloader must first be unlocked in order to install this Red Fox Recovery, or at least for Magisk to install afterwards? I have already checked, and my bootloader is available for unlocking if need be.

What about the XT2043
I finally got this installed. However, no plugins are available. What needs to be done to bring in the plugs? A Google search reveals that I need to install an additional .zip file. What is this file and were do I find it?

Thank you !!!
easy to install - when you eventually remember to allow OEM Unlocks within Developer options (as well as USB debugging obviously)
:good:
I had a few hiccups, ie. it wouldn't wipe the system or data , but I simply converted them to FAT and then straight back to ext4 and it wiped them ready for Custom ROMS

You're Welcome.
@ZonaRMR How to install this? Because using standard commands gives error. I mean, first "adb reboot bootloader" and then "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img". And second command gives error, something like "download for recovery partition is not allowed". OEM Unlock and Debugging turned on, of course.

I flashed straight from this one and it works fine.
https://sourceforge.net/projects/ma...-guacamole-unified-Q-mauronofrio.img/download
You can also try flashing the IMG file via fastboot just like TWRP and then flashing the zip in OFR to make it stick
so i installed 3.3.1.0 and id doesent mount my data partition no matter if i disable the screen lock it doesent ask to decript the data anyway,i did what you said and booted the orange fox it worked but when i flashed it it still rebooted back to stock twrp
Any chance of this working with our dualboot options?
It is not working for me too, followed all the steps, even tried fastboot method, still it reboots back to old recovery.Does it need oos boot image?
Nop,oos didn't make a change

Exactly I did the same and work like charm. For those who didn't get it.
1) download the zip and the image file.
2)boot to twrp
3) change to flash img file and flash the img to the ramdisk recovery partition.
4) after installation reboot to recovery.
5) you will reboot to the Orange recovery although its not permanent so flash the zip file with the recovery.
It will reboot itself to new recovery.

Thanks alot.
What is not working?
I can't wait for a lineage os 19 I saw the source code for it and I know there is a pixel experience with Android 12 available
Hmmm... nairo-twrp-3.6.0_11.0_RC-1.0.img linked above boots, but no touchscreen (from V- + Power or CLI fastboot reboot bootloader). I have a twrp-3.5.0-1-nairo.img from a previous Arrow OS load that does... is that safe to use to load the Lineage OS?
Note to self: no, no you can't. Corrupt OS message from recovery after trying to reboot. Also storage appears encrypted still from "install Magisk" step, guess that should have been a warning. Sigh.
Flash back to stock again, sigh. At least that seems to recover everything.
we do really need a hero who can create a nairo twrp, this version boots with android 12 on nairo but touch doesnt work :c

Step 4 will prevent you from bricking as it's common slot_b tends to be empty or not correctly setup on Motorola phones.
Esentially it copies the bootloader partitions from a -> b

Hey wesley,
i'm currently trying to flash my motorola.
the touchscreen will not respond. i have waited for a coulple of minutes, but no avail.
are there any tricks to make it work?
best regards
EDIT :
My first try was TWRP-3.6.0_11.0_RC-1.0.img. This did not work
I've Downloaded "twrp 3.5.0", and i had to wait one or two minutes for the touchscreen to start work
TWRP 3.6.0 did not work for me.
EDIT2:
i was not able to flash the newest zip (03.24) on my "vanilla" phone but the first one worked well.
The 27.1.2022
Also Install the Pico gapps. i could not flash the nano package
best regards

touch works for me after phew seconds on 3.6.0
The flash was succsessful to a lineage version. so the twrp is no longer a problem
I think my problem with (03.24) was a misunderstanding with slot A and slot B.
i can't change them within the lineageos bootloader.
i was able to get 3.24 running after a couple of tries (and factory resets)
one of the tries showed no mobile data available.
i was able to fix it with "factory resets" and reflashing until it worked again.
But then the gps was not working. a couple of satellites in view, but no in use.
until i found a note in my old google keep from 2016:
" fastboot erase modemst1 "
" fastboot erase modemst2 "
facepalm. so one of the factory resets was unnecessary.
so a small hint for all people :
1) wireless mouse is a good hint, for twrp 3.6.0
2) fastboot to erase the gps data, then it will work again.
3) pico gapps
can someone check if there is a wireless display option in cast setting on this custom rom ?
or can this custom rom mirror screen to a tv or mirror screen to a laptop (or a pc with a wifi dongle ) via project settings in windows 10 ?

Great job!
I tried on my device, but it did not work (as was expected, the cpu is another).
Maybe I could ask you to do this for my device? We have broken TWRP, which actually is doesnt work.
We have twrp devicetree, may it will be easy for you.
We have greate community, which cant do it ourself
Lenovo tab p11 j606f snapdragon 662.
I hope that you just need to change the specs (cpu), i think that mount points the same as on p11 plus.
We will be very grateful!
also i can provide any files what is need

Hi!
I've got a J606L(same as yours but it has SIM), and I've been trying to make a working custom recovery for it. Can you send me your device tree? Is it on github? Mine is missing the drivers for the touch panel. I successfully built an OrangeFox and a new TWRP recovery for the device, but the touchscreen don't work. If your files working, it will work both on J606L and J606F.
Thanks!

Hi!
Actually devicetree isnt mine.
One of us (p11 users) make it, look https://github.com/Ramil2911/twrp_j606f
its has bugs such as mtp isnt work, and it cant mount data (the solve is erasing data via stock recovery or fastboot).
But Touch is working fine (it needs for 10 sec. for unfreez) May be its possible to fix them. I belive that may be orange fox can avoid them during compile.
also, there are a lot of devicetrees on git. https://github.com/Bagger1113/android_device_lenovo_j606f-twrp
https://github.com/stezyin/J606F
Also i have found sourcecode of p11, but its too old (android 10, i think). Its on lenovo's site, if you need, also i can find it again.

Did it possible to flash miui gsi?
As i see on features it has miui capability.
I ask because on j606f any gsi wich much differ from aosp is not booting. Yes, it hasnt castom recovery, may be thats the problem?
And in general, i solve the problem with lack of twrp on j606f via buying j607F
Nice.

Team Win Recovery Project 3.x, or TWRP 3.x for short, is a custom recovery built with ease of use and customization in mind. Its a fully touch driven user interface no more volume rocker or power buttons to mash. The GUI is also fully XML driven and completely theme-able. You can change just about every aspect of the look and feel.
Code:

not enough SDD space but someday i might try, need to clean up my workstation from recovery trees and such
Oh i see... But this is already the best idea.. you will get more ideas into this one i hope!
This works for Lite?
Okay, so I have a couple of questions (because I don't really know much about this and never used twrp, so it would be really helpful getting these answered)
Can I just boot into this or do I have to flash it?
Can I make backups using this?
And the main question: can I use this for lV2201_11_A.13 (EU) update? Or it doesn't matter?

...hmmm, I don't think so, as the device doesn't have a dedicated recovery ...it uses the funny fastbootd implementation ...and as I said many times before: ...Nobody needs TWRP anymore ...you can use GSI or the much better DSU ...and flashing Magisk can easily be done with good old fastboot

...sure ...but I kept my answer simple ...and as there is no "recovery.img" inside the original Rom, I ignored the location of the fastbootd ...in case of the "CE 2 lite" I'm really not sure where it is hidden ...didn't unpack the Images by now ...but I can tell you, the partitioning is very confusing ...what if I tell you, it could be the "Hypervisor" itself??? ...or it could be inside the vendor_boot.img, because it's one of the first things getting mounted ...by the way, the "battery - loading - off - animation" is not located in boot.img ...I will explore the rom by detail next holiday, maybe
...feel free to help me out with this, every "hint" helps us all

Depending on what *stock rom* you're referring too. I did notice that A12 update package didn't come with the recovery image bundled inside. I'm unsure why they done this.
