J3 stuck in boot screen. [Tech Support] - Samsung Galaxy J3 (2017) Questions & Answers

Hi, I just made an account here because someone on Reddit suggested it. I am having an issue with my cheap Samsung phone. It is a J3 Emerge and I have had it for about 3 years now. About 30 minutes ago I was watching a youtube video when suddenly my phone turned itself off randomly without me having pressed the power button. The battery was at about 30 percent. It didn't do the normal turn-off sounds, it was just on, then a black screen, then the boot screen. When my carrier logo pops up it doesn't play a sound, when it normally does. It then stays on my carrier logo screen indefinitely and vibrates a couple of times every 20 seconds or so.
I have tried taking the battery out and putting it back in, and then turning the phone on. It turns on normally, but after the carrier screen, it goes to a teal blue background that I have never seen before that says "Starting Android" at the top, and "starting apps" at the bottom. After about 10 seconds, my home screen comes up. Once my home screen comes up, after about 3-5 seconds it turns off and starts the process mentioned above. I tried booting it into safe mode, and the boot was normal until it got to my carrier screen, made the sound, and then was stuck in the indefinite vibrating loop.
The only other option that I can find is to try to factory reset it. Though I know that we are switching our plan over to T-Mobile very soon, and I'm wondering if I should wait until I go see them for the new sim card to see if maybe they can fix it. I don't want to have to get a new phone if I don't have to. Even though my screen has many cracks, and it can be really slow at times with android 7, I don't mind it.
I'm willing to try just about anything at this point. I'd also be relieved to know if this just isn't something I can fix/is fixable, as at least I wouldn't be in the dark. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask, I will provide as much additional information as I can. Thanks in advance.

[Q]

Hey all i am really new to this and run into a major problem. I rooted my phone with superoneclick and installed a ROM from SGS tools for my samsung captivate. When it would enter into the recovery screen it would not show the usual options but instead a screen of what looked like a pixelated mess. Once the phone started i went to restore to factory settings and now when the phone starts up I see the AT&T logo then it goes to a black screen where it stays there forever. Did i manage to screw up my phone? any help is greatly appreciated.
ok, I finally turned the phone off and left it overnight. The phone does start and work like it should. The only thing is that once you try to go to the recovery mode and the phone does its thing, I am brought to a screen that is half snowy (like the television when you dont get a certain channel) and the other half with lines of red, green, and blue. From here I cannot tell what is going on when I use the volume key to go up or down. Then with a double click of the power button the phone just restarts normally.

[Q]Samsung Galaxy S3 screen problems

TL: DR: Screen sometimes is totally black, but otherwise the screen seems to work fine. Sometimes the phone acts completely normal. Sometimes the phone acts completely normal, but the screen is tinted green, but only after it's booted up. I can access download screen with no issue, most of the time I can get into recovery with out a problem, but not always.
I'm brand new to the GS3, but I purchased it last week on ebay (described as fully functional) since my other phone has been giving me troubles. I received it last Thursday (5/15/14), and it seemed to work fine. I have not been able to activate it yet since I did not have 4G sim card, so I've just been playing with it around the house to make sure it works until I get my 4G card from Verizon in the mail.
So Saturday comes along, and I notice that the screen is all black, but makes the usual sounds when you touch the screen. I pull the battery, and boot it back up. The Samsung logo would come up, but none of the boot animation. Nothing after the Samsung logo. It seems that if I push the power button, the phone seems to be functional, but nothing comes up on the screen. Sometimes if I push the power button a bunch of times, I can get the screen to come on. The screen looked normal, and everything worked fine, until I hit the power button. Back to the black screen. I booted into recovery, cleared the cache and did a factory wipe, and it seemed to be completely normal for a while.
I've noticed that sometimes phone acts completely normal (proper colors, screen turns off and on as it should), sometimes it works normally but the screen is tinted green (power button turns off and on the screen as it should), and sometimes, the screen is totally black, but the touch functions work normally.
Since the screen always works at boot (I can see the Samsung logo clearly and with no color distortion, but sometimes the rest of the boot animation is gone, even though I hear the boot music), and there is also no color distortion in recovery or download mode, am I likely looking at a software issue?
It is not rooted, and completely stock on 4.1.2. EDIT:Baseband is VRBMF1.
I have tried to make my problem as clear as possible, but I will clarify anything if necessary.
Thanks.
I downgraded to VRBMB1 with ODIN, and I still seem to be having the same issue (screen goes black, won't come back on), although the green tint problem hasn't happened yet. As long as I leave the screen on, it works fine. I'm thinking that this might be a problem with the power button, although I don't understand why it would allow me into download mode with no issues, but trouble doing much of anything else. I'm probably going to be sending it back for a refund, but if anyone has any suggestions, I'm more than willing to listen. Thanks.

[Q] Nexus 5 Won't Boot

Hello,
I have/had a Nexus 5 (8gb) running CM 12 nightly. I was playing a game on it one morning, Racing RIvals to be specific, then a popup popped up on my screen saying Android System UI is not responding. I clicked OK then it locked my device and brought me back to the lockscreen. I unlocked the device with my passcode and it brought me back into the game but now phone was unresponsive. I held the power button down for some time hoping it would restart my device, upon doing this my device turned off and would not turn back on. I held the power button down for some time and then I felt vibrations but nothing appeared on the screen. I kept doing this and sometimes the screen would light up but will be blank and have nothing showing on the screen. I tried booting into fastboot but that was no hope. I think I have almost tried everything there is to do and nothing works. If I can get any help with my issue it will be much appreciated.
Thank You.
If you can't get it to boot, and can't get into fastboot, then it's likely you won't be able to fix it. Let it sit on the charger overnight, and if you still can't get into it, then you'll probably have to RMA it, unfortunately.

How to restore into operation LG G2 D800 phone that says "Fastboot mode started"?

How to restore into operation LG G2 D800 phone that says "Fastboot mode started"?
Current problem: phone is not operational (does not boot properly).
What I see:
Boot Screen 1:
Phone appears to boot as normal, makes the start-up sound, then it shows a white message box on a gray-screen background. The message box says "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped."
It gives me an option to click "OK".
Clicking OK, message box disappears, screen momentarily flashes an all-white background, (which sometimes changes into black and sometimes not), and then it goes back to the message box.
Boot Screen 2:
"[xxxx] Fastboot mode started" on a blank screen,
where xxxx is a number. 6180 one time, 9790 another during 2 individual boots.
Then the phone just sits there doing nothing seemingly indefinitely.
I am not sure yet how I bring those two different boot modes up but via pressing Power and / or Power and Down buttons in some fashion.
How do I fix this? Is my device bricked?
How I got to that screen
I was using a web browser or some other app on the phone when I have received a text message. I clicked on it inside text box to reply. But changed my mind, and clicked back on the background app. Suddenly the phone shut off unexpectedly. I thought it was related to phone drawing suddenly high battery power, not receiving it and shutting off as sometimes happens on very low battery power level 2-4%. However, my battery was charged over 40% so that was most likely not the cause.
Possibly relevant history (anything that could be contributed to the above):
phone worked okay for a while (since purchase)
~1 year in I tried rooting phone with towelroot/other options unsuccessfully. Gave up. Was never able to root the device. Lived with is as is for a while.
~2 years since purchase, somehow Bluetooth option started failing to turn on. Trying to fix that via doing a Factory Reset did not help. So I lived with BT being non-operational
A week ago I swapped SIM card with my buddy for a week, then swapped it back. Phone kept working as normal.
Today I charged the phone perhaps not using the best power source - it is possible I may have damaged phone using a questionable quality charger. Possibly. This could be the issue. However the phone seemingly worked fine after that for 2-3 hours.
Since my unexpected Shut-Off (most recent), I tried rebooting the phone, but that does not work as expected. First time it got stuck on LG screen forever. Kept pressing Power button, or Power & Down buttons to try to make it come alive. Other two times it brings up a message with "[xxxx] Fastboot mode started" on a blank screen and then it just sits there doing nothing.
Another boot, the process went further, past LG G2 logo, into white screen, and then it brought up a message "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped.", I clicked okay. It looped back to bringing up the message. I clicked Okay over 10 times, it was stuck in a loop.

Korean V500N screen won't turn on

It is the second time this happened. Last time it fixed itself after half an hour.
The screen is always pitch black and the device stays warm.
Most of the time it is boot looping with a black screen, the 5G led on the back keeps blinking in different colours. When connected to a PC, in Device Manager I can see two "LG-V500N", then it disappears after a minute, and comes back, repeat.
Sometimes the device boots and stay booted with a black screen, I can tell the device is on because it is listed in "adb devices". Unfortunately I don't have any authorized device to connect to it via adb.
I am not sure what I can try, I have pressed and hold power + vol down many times but the screen remains black.
I also have trouble switching off the device, it seems to either stay on or boot loop.
After letting it rest for a few hours, switching it on shows this screen, with a white/gray line at the top of the screen, and after 5 seconds it switches itself off again.

Get into download mode by powering off the phone and pressing volume up while having it plugged into a PC. Then find a guide to flash a kdz lgup. You will probably lose data or have already lost it

It seems the phone will not stay in download mode for more than 5 seconds, it powers off after showing the big download mode screen for 5 seconds.
I will try to leave my phone on the charger for some time and then try again.

I managed to get the device to enter and stay in download mode, however the screen stays pitch black and I am not sure if I should continue flashing.
Would you go ahead and flash it if you were me?
The device is currently on Pie, I will probably try flashing a Pie KDZ first, before an Android 10 KDZ.
Sometimes there is a brief moment where the screen comes on, that's when the LG V50 logo shows before entering download mode.
Did an UPGRADE with V500N11r_00_KT_KR_OP_1017.kdz, which should be the same firmware that the device is already on, it flashed successfully, didn't seem to help, screen remains pitch black.
Did a REFURBISH with the same kdz, didn't seem to help either.
The phone seems to continue to boot loop after the REFURBISH flash. When connected to PC, LG-V500N shows up and then disappears repeatedly. Sometimes I can hear a sound effect being played from the phone, sounds like it has booted and the sound probably came from the initial setup screen.
Seems the phone has stopped boot looping, it is on the initial setup screen. The screen remains pitch black but it responds to touch.
Not sure where I can go from here.
Edited:
The screen has come on briefly once for a few seconds, it is on the initial setup screen. I only had time to switch the language to English, then the screen went black and the device seem to have crashed (no longer makes sound or vibrate as I randomly tap on the screen)

I think it's some faulty hardware at this point. You've tried everything possible as of now.

Hi! I bought an LG V50 and exactly the same things you described happens to me, the screen starts, it shows the logo, but then it goes completely black, but phone starts, sounds are heard and the touch screen work. But not image, screen is black. Could you find out what hardware defect it is? It's the display module, or will it be the motherboard? Thanks
Nope, I have sold the phone as parts.
