Hi!
I’m facing a strange issue with my note 20 ultra s pen. I noticied that in some points of the screen, the pointer is kinda off position of the s pen, a few mm up or up right. This is very annoying. does anybody are facing the same issue? how can i correct that? already done the bascics.. reset spen, factory reset etc..

Found this in the Note 20 forum, perhaps it'll help:

Clear system cache on the boot menu.
Try cal procedure again.
If no joy try in safe mode, make sure a 3rd party app isn't to blame.
Try a hard reboot.
Try clearing spen data. I'm not certain where the cal data is stored though but this is a start.
Revert the app to its factory version*.
Try broadening your Google searches for this issue on all Note models. Many times the same issues and solutions persist across OS's and hardware.
Try to avoid doing a factory reset and find the root cause otherwise it's likely to reoccur. Factory reset if after a week or two of troubleshooting doesn't get it. It's possible the OS was corrupted, occasionally installing or unistalling a poorly written app can cause issues by altering settings not normally accessible to the user.
*one reason I never do auto updates as they can and do break phones. By authorizing each update you can better track if the update was a benefit or a menace. Sometimes the factory load version is the best version

Nothing works.. Tried factory reset and even in the configuration screens the problem happens, so i think it's not a 3rd party app.. My phone came with a screen protector, i have a suspicion that it may causing the problem.. but i see it's not a common problem.. i'll buy another screen protector and when it arrives i'll test the phone without it, to see if it's the cause.

The factory screen protector is not the issue, leave it on. May be a hardware issue.

I had weird problems with Moto G3 touch screen.
1. Touch screen hangs when I restart phone and immediately swipe for notifications.
2. Sometimes home buttons are not working.
3. Sometimes whole touch screen doesn't work. Lock and unlock solves issue.
4. This is really weird. When home button is not working. I press and hold for a moment. Google App starts and all 3 buttons start working.
5. Notification window automatically flashes at regular interval without swiping.
I don't understand. I tried to debug.. It seems software issue not hardware issue. Please help.
Sounds like a lag problem... memory full or runaway app... I would first do a cache wipe, then check memory usage and make sure it isn't almost full, then look at storage because I have seen phones do this when internal storage is very limited.
Thanks for reply. One more problem added

I have done factory reset twice. I always keep enough space in phone. I cleanup everyday. Memory issue can never be problem for me. I dont keep unnecessary data. Now i have observed one more problem. Notification window automatically flashes at regular interval without doing anything.

Hmm... the whole notification bar is flashing at regular intervals? This really sounds like a software issue... Are you stock?
Honestly, at this point you need to absolutely verify hardware or software... I would factory default, and skip everything in setup, do not add Google account (important!) or restore anything, except login to WiFi. Does it still do it? If so, it is probably hardware and you need to RMA it to Moto, if it is OK then it's a software issue in one of your apps.
Any screen protector or case? Sometimes they are known to do weird things on this device, especially tempered glass ones.

Thanks for quick reply. I agree with you. It's software issue. It works fine in safe mode. Actual hardware is fine. May be I can try factory reset one more time without adding google account. Okay. I will get back to you once I do reset. Thnx buddy.

Add the Google account but don't restore apps... Setup all the Google services and test, if it's OK then start adding apps a few at a time. If it starts acting up its a system settings issue, factory reset and add Google account but don't restore any services at all and continue to setup like a new device.

Hi
Has anybody a bug like mentioned above?
My FRD-L09 with the latest fw b131 has that bug. After rebooting it works as usual but after some time it stops rotating the Screen.
The Rotation is enabled in the Settings. Tested with many apps like google fotos, the stock foto gallery, even chrome does not auto rotate.
As is said, after a reboot it works again.
Try wiping the Cache Partition in the Recovery Mode menu. If that doesn't work then backup the data on your device and perform a hard factory reset on your device.

Yes, as i stated above
Good
I have the same issue, after some time the rotation is not working anymore. A restart fixes that temporary, but it is getting annoying

It has happened to me twice in 2 days. Not sure if it was camera related, but that's when I noticed it because the pics I took in landscape were rotated 90 degrees in the gallery, and nothing auto-rotates after that. So rebooting fixes it.

A hard factory reset solved the problem for me, at least I did not get this issue again since 3 days.
But I think it has something to do with "smart assistance", this is the only setting that is deactivated since I've made the reset.
So try to turn things off there and maybe I am right, if not do a hard reset (Do not forget to backup your data !!)
Have the same annoying bug on my Honor Note 8, must be something to do with Huawei's power management cause it seems to happen when battery goes below 10%. Restart seems to fix it every time
Hello,
I have the same bug on my Honor 8.
Does someone found a solution ? it's very annoying

You are my personal hero, PreDer!
I only deacticated all options in "smart assisstence" settings. Only Smart Key is activated. I did a partition cache wipe afterwards (no factory reset!) and now everything is working perfectly for last couple of days!

Hi, any update?
Same issue here, but today It reactivated the function by itself as it stopped working with gallery and google photo uploading.
I had anyway some movement options active in smart assistance, which I now have deactivated leaving only the smart cover option.
It is still working perfectly for me with only smart key activated in settings. No issues anymore so far...
Ok thanks, looks like mine too is working again.
Something like the error message of "Google....etc etc...impossible recording" whenever the microphone was used by an app, even taking movies. I then discovered that I had to deactivate the "Ok Google on every screen" option.
By the way, even if I wanted to wait for a massive test of the B380 upgrade, I found that my Honor 8 had downloaded automatically the upgrade, prompting me to reboot to install it, when I left it connected to my home wifi.
I can't find anyway to force it not to download system upgrades by itself, I have a very bad experience from iPad of unnecessary upgrades, is there a way to take control manually of system upgrades?
Actually I haven't seen any battery improvement after the upgrade to B380...
I have the same issue. I can confirm that the reboot fixed the problem. Will see how long befoe this bug comes back.

Rebooting fixes until smart assistance critical option forces the problem to come back. It might be a conflict with some particular app, but deactivating most of the smart options one at a time to see which one is the guilty will solve the issue.
Unfortunatly, reboot fixes the bug for me for only 5 or 6 days :/

My note 20 ultra is having an issue where certain times when I go back to home screen, the app I was on leaves a ghost image on the screen. Only way to seem to get rid of it is to reboot device. Have to do this once a day. Tried with Nova and One UI but no dice fixing without reboot.
See my screen shot. Is there another way to refresh your home screen a la Windows?

it's not a pop-up view? is it random behavior or did you have to follow certain steps in order for this to happen?

Did you set your phone up from scratch or did you transfer data from another phone. If you transferred from another phone there's been numerous post here about bugs and they were fixed with a FDR.
From the boot menu clear the Sytem Cache... this cures many glitches.
Find the app doing it and clear its cache and data if need be.
If that's the only issue with that load and nothing gets it done, disable the pop up notifications/overlay permissions for that app. Not sure how it's displayed in settings on Q.

Could the MS apks be the root cause?
I don't use any of the MS apks, in fact they're all blocked.
If you do a hard reset and it comes back, you'll have gained nothing. Most times it's a settings issue or a misbehaving 3rd party app.
Have had the most trouble with 3rd party launchers. Best to avoid them as they can goof up a lot including boot up.
>Keep playing with it< and try some Google searches as others will many times have the same issues.
Try package blocking suspect apks and see if that ferrets it out. Use Device Manager to see what apps are loaded in the memory cache when it goes nuts.
I've used this to track down a nasty one, once I cleared the data on the right system apk all was good.
Best of all if it happens again, I know what to do.
A last resort before a hard reset is to do a setting reset however this is a global settings nuke.
Again, clear the system cache and then suspected apk caches however sometimes you'll need to clear their data as well. PD MDM is a better option to clear apk caches/data in as it leaves no nulls or something that clearing the same in settings DOES.
Sounds skewy but been there, done that.

Back up everything to Samsung cloud and do a FDR. If that doesn't fix the issue just restore and you're right back where you were.
There have been several reports of bugs on this forum and they were mostly due to restoring data from another phone.

3rd party launchers can put you in boot loop hell.
Had it happen twice in 2 weeks.
Was thinking it might be another app but on the 3rd reload I stayed with 1 UI...
2 months later still stable as a rock.
If a launcher is acting even a little slow or twitchy... ditch it.

I don't like the bloody white icon labels...
1 UI is fast and the most stable. After seeing all manner of screw ups on 3rd pretty launchers and 2 back to back reloads... done.
Got rid of most of the bloody white except the page indicator. Samsung morons... even with only a home page it still shows, jeeeeezse!

Hi! My s10+ has multi touch, touchscreen issue. When I tapping on screen with 5,4 fingers it is very lagging. What cause of it? Is there any solution? Please, help me!
Clear system cache.
Try in safe mode to rule out a 3rd party app causing it.
When/how did it start?
Was it dropped or exposed to water?
Could it be malware, rootkit, etc? Always keep this in the back of your mind with abnormal unexplained behavior. Factory reset if there's any doubt or if it can't be promptly removed completely.

But it is OK for normal for Facebook, TikTok...etc because I scroll only one finger, so it is OK for normal use. For gaming (I play PUBG MOBILE) I use 4 finger. And touchscreen lags.

If so manually load and configure everything after the next factory reset and do not use SmartSwitch.
It maybe a hardware issue but you need a clean load to rule out a software issue.
If the above fails reflash to the stock rom... if all that fails to solve the issue it's likely hardware.

Install Good Lock family of apps then Navstar from the Galaxy store. See if playing with the setups in Navstar help.
Download One Handed Operation plus from Playstore. It has multiple navigation options to bypass the standard buttons.
I'm having this weird issue, where the UI is almost lagging, but it's not quite lagging. IT's like the screen wont update unless I do something to make it update. Like to move to a next screen I will have to drag down the notification bar to get it to load the next screen. I'm not quite sure if that makes sense so here's a video of what I'm talking about. This is severely hindering my usage, and a factory reset did stop it for a while, but now it's happening again. My storage isn't full and I dont have a ton of apps open, and it happens whether I have enhanced processing on or not. or power saving on or not. please help.
Try in safe mode to rule out a 3rd party app as the cause.
When did it start and more importantly what happened before it started?

Could one of the apps auto updated? I block them to prevent that. Updates and upgrades can and do break things, Samsung updates included.
I don't think so only because this happened before and factory resetting fixed it for a while. And after my factory reset I reinstalled all my normal apps and all updates. And I factory reset maybe 2 weeks ago.

Like I was saying... something caused it.
Unlikely it's corrupted firmware or a hardware issue. Not malware unless you reloaded again.
Social media and shopping apps shouldn't be on a device. So it's likely one or more of the apps... updates can and do break things.
Clearing the cache partition has seemed to have fixed it. I'm guessing maybe it's from the android 13 update I took? I'm thinking I'm gonna switch to the U1 firmware when it comes out for android 13 cause I'm on Verizon branded firmware. My device is a dev phone though. When I boot into download mode it says dev device in big letters lol.
