Question From MIUI 12.5.1 TO 12.0.6 - Xiaomi Poco X3 Pro

Hi,
Just got my new device, and I'd like to flash it with Arrow OS, but I noticed it's Miui 12.5.1, while I need the kernel to be 12.0.6.
I'm not sure what ARB index 12.5.1 has, so I figured I should probably ask - is it OK to flash 12.0.6 over 12.5.1?
Kind regards,
Saar.

Sorry for the pointless thread.
For future reference, I found out that 12.5.1's ARB index is 2 as well, and that in any case Arrow OS defines 12.0.6 as the minimal version, so it's probably fine as it is.
Wish I could delete the thread
Cheers.

Tried the links from MIUI forum and didn't work. Some users were also reporting touch issues in TWRP.
Finally tried this set of files from Willy Willyam @homeandroidapk.blogspot, and voila!

Have you tried flashing the latest Mi4c ROM from the European forum? Would you have to reset the phone to flash the ROM? What are the differences between the European ROM vs. the Chinese one? Sorry, so many questions, but I really wanna ditch the Chinese ROM asap.
I would link the ROM but apparently I'm not allowed since I'm new here. It's part of release 5.10.8

GEM-702L Custom rom?

Hi all,
first, sorry for my english and second sorry because probably i'm asking something you allready answered 100 times..
I have a new 702L (great phone, i love it) running the stock rom b006, i installed twrp and rooted it. Just for your understanding, i'm not a "beginner" but also not an expert and i always flashed roms (Samsung Note 1, iocean G7, Coolpad 9976t) by cwm or twrp, not by adb/fastboot.
Only i don't really understand some things, mayby i didn't find the correct infos but are there some custom roms for the 702 or "only" for the 703? The way to flash it is for me a little bit to hard to understand and i'm not sure if i would brick my 702..
I would like to have multiwindows and double tap to wake.
No chance to flash only a zip by twrp like my old phones?
Thank for your help, if there is a explanation in a other thread so please give me an info delete my question here.
Have a great 2016, greets from the italian Alps.

Practically there are NO really custom ROMs for MediaPad X2. Only customized stock ROMs (debloated and heavy debloated of chinese trtash AND original from China - KangVIP version of stock ROMs (with many improvements) like that what you want:

BUT!! Upgrades for european (GEM-701) AND Hong-Kong(GEM-702) versions are very sparse. Only for chinese version (GEM-703) upgrades are quite regular and even expanded KangVIP ROM is destined for GEM-703. So some people found a way to flash GEM-703's firmware to other versions because hardware differences are minimal, if any... In that way owner of GEM-702 achieved possibility to use more functions and/or ability to OTA upgrades designed for GEM-703 ( in near future Android 6 which beta version was spotted on chinese servers)

Sorry, NO. It is more complicated and needs more study. All info you can find in "MediaPad X2 Android Development" forum.
EDIT//
Just now I looked into forum and have seen news from our leading developer @ajsmsg78 - he developed new custom ROM with Google functionality. Info in thread [ROM] [5.1.1] Simply Google **01/05/2016**
Thank you for all this infos. ?

Can I install any Custom Rom on my OnePlus 7 Pro?

I'm kind of new to this, but I saw a video of ONE UI running on the OnePlus 6 and 6t, but it day that they port that Rom, will I be able to install that Rom on the OnePlus 7 Pro for example? Or install a Android Q beta Rom via TWRP without port/support? Or does it has to be ported or compatible with the device?
Theoretically you should be able to flash A/B GSIs (note that the OnePlus 6 uses A only GSIs! There's a difference! Grab the AB GSIs!). Don't expect things to work properly. It might boot. It might not.

There's a handful of ROMs available now in their respective threads here on XDA. They all have instructions on installation.
Yep, go to the Development section and study the roms. Then Flash away...

Send me your phone and I'll flash a custom ROM for you. Otherwise, do your homework. We're not here to babysit.

XDA has a "Question and Answer" thread, which was created to help each other, if you're not going to help don't even bother commenting, also, line I said, why are you on this section if you're not going to help?

ROMs are built for a specific device and can be ported and maintained. There are a few that you need to flash in TWRP as per their specific instructions and a few that you can flash in magisk. You need to research and all the information you need is usually on XDA with each ROM in the development section. If it's not there, it probably doesn't exist or is done by a Dev who does not associate with XDA. Make sure you are familiar with nandroid backup and restore, root, TWRP and all the flashing methods associated with each. The instructions are all there and Google is your friend. Most issues you may experience are already brought forth and that's what the search function is for, but if you follow the instructions, you shouldnt have any issues.

Just got my oneplus 7 pro gm1913, advices?

Hi everyone, I've just bought my oneplus 7 pro gm1913 today and I want to ask you some advices about modding this phone... First of all I want to unlock bootloader and flash TWRP and after that:
I want to install gcam, which version do you think it's better?
I'm on Oxygen OS 10.0.10.GM21BA, you advise me to change to a custom ROM or to stay on oxygen? Custom rom for guacamole works on my gm1913 version?
Is it recommended to flash another custom kernel or to stay with stock? Which kernel is better in your opinion?
Sorry for my english and for all these questions, I'm a newbie and I want to learn from you with more experience than me.
Thanks in advance!

welcome to your awesome phone.
1. The stock rom is quite powerful and attractive, and a lot of us on here like it. If you root the phone, then you can freeze/uninstall some of the stock stuff that you may not like or need.
2. The Smurf kernel is absolutely silky smooth on the phone, and it lets you enjoy the awesome battery life. Other kernels are good too, and you may just have to try them out; that's the response you will always get when you ask for an opinion.
to root your phone and get twrp, there is an amazing guide in one of the pinned guide posts by arden144 or GoodSoul.
Here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...unlock-twrp-root-and-update.3940368/#poststop
that's your starting point. You might want to take over the air (OTA) updates first before doing the root. Your phone's latest firmware version is 10.3.8 from a week ago.
Good luck, read, search, and then ask.

Congrats to your new phone! Here are some thoughts from a two-year-user that are nowhere to be taken as axiom.
I tried Gcam a few times. I reemember it being a lot of fiddling to get the aux cameras working via Magisk module or flashable zip in twrp. Even then the results of gcam were worse than the stock camera. I made this journey three times and back and OOS camera always won no matter the config I used in gcam.
As for the OS itself, OxygenOS is comfortably close to AOSP and the tweaks made by oneplus feel really nice. It's close to the pixel experience. I would say stay on OOS and wait and see if there is something feature missing you absolutely need. When you want to switch to a custom rom, just check the corresponding thread here in XDA and choose the one you like the most. Mosts of them are still actively supported. One thing you should know is that TWRP backups/restores can break easily if not all stars are aligned perfectly, so be careful to trust those unconditionally.
