Help! Phone disconnects from cellular while sleeping. - OnePlus 8T Questions & Answers

For the past month I've had an incredibly annoying problem with my OnePlus 8t (T-Mobile). If my screen is off for a certain amount of time the phone disconnects from the cellular network. Received calls go straight to voicemail. Texts do not arrive. Even when I turn my phone back on I'm not connected to cellular/data. The phone will show I have bars, but no LTE/5G. I have to switch airplane mode on/off to reconnect. I've looked all over and can't find a solution. Any ideas?

do check if dnd or any similar function is not on.

Disable -all- power management including any 3rd party apps.
Try in safe mode to rule out being caused by 3rd party app.
Clear system cache
Network reset
Clear sim card tool kit data
Clear Google play Services data
It's likely a settings or app issue. Unless you did a major firmware update a factory reset is unlikely to help. It may fix it but the issue will likely return.
Find the root cause and correct it instead.

[Q] Data Connection problem

I am having problem with my data connection on my Samsung Galaxy Tab2. I start using the internet connection with no problems then at one point i lose data connection all other serviced work well sms and calls. In order to get my data connection back i either have to restart phone or else go to flight mode and off flight mode again (flight mode thing sometimes works and sometimes doesn't).
Sometimes, it also says "No SIM Card". This complete issue typically happens when I have the 2G internet ON and the phone gets locked automatically. When I unlock it again, I see these issues.
So far, this issue happened only with 2G connection. Now, today, the No Sim Card message came up when I left the Wi-Fi button on and left the phone for a while. :crying:
I have tried selecting "GSM Only" in the network settings. I am using Vodafone IN (Andhra Pradesh, India) network. All other threads on google suggest flight mode and restart but I don't want to restart so many times in a day... This happens everytime and the frequency is increasing.
Is anyone experiencing a similar problem? Any solutions for these?
do one thing bro! backup all your data, contacts. do a factory reset of your device! all the things will work like butter! use titanium backup available on playstore!

[Q] Mobile data switching issues

Hi all, I am having some issues with my Z3s mobile data switch. If I have mobile data on and then activate my wifi, the mobiles data 3g icon disappears, which I had assumed is normal because wifi trumps data.
After I turn wifi off, the data connection icon does not come back and i have no internet access. When I go to settings to reactivate the data connection, it says it is already on. I have to shut it off/turn it on manually 3 or 4 times before it reconnects... and it seems like it takes a really long time to reconnect too.
Any thoughts?
1. Try to reinstall the internet and mms settings under settings, Wireless and networks, Internet Settings.
2. Try under settings, Wireless and networks, mobile networks, prefered network mode, select any of the non LTE/4G options.
3 .If either of those don't work, then try under settings, Wireless and networks, mobile networks, then network operator, then select your network provider from the list, then do each of the previous step 2 then step 1.
If that still doesn't work take the sim back and get it checked out by your provider, or request a new one.

Thanks for this. Apparently it matters in which order you do things with this phone so when I set it up before installing the sim it messed it up. I reset the phone back to factory defaults but this time with the sim card in it and it now works a lot better--though switching between wifi and mobile data is rather slow, at least compared to my One M8.
hmm, shouldn't do I haven't noticed that previously, I would be wary of your sim card.
I have the same issue on my Z3 Compact. Is there no other way than a factory reset? I'm rooted btw
Try turning off Stamina mode
I've had the same or similar issue with the T-Mobile version of the Z3 (D6616). For my phone, I've noticed that it is Stamina mode that is causing this issue. Another post described a similar issue and the way to resolve it was to clear the data and cache on the "Extended Standby mode controller" app/process. Note however that this causes all the stamina settings to be reset such as the apps active in standby. Eventually though this didn't work any more so I decided to turn off Stamina mode altogether. So far, the Wi-Fi to mobile data switching works flawlessly with Stamina mode off.
My feeling it has to do with an app/apps that affect this particular process. I had reset my phone and installed apps "slowly" (install one app, test, install another app, test, etc.) to see which app would cause this though could not pinpoint a particular app. I've experienced this issue with three Xperia Z3's (the first Z3 I had, the replacement Z3 due to a camera button issue, and my wife's Z3) so this has to be a software issue.
Another option is to put the phone in Airplane mode then take it out of airplane mode.
I have the same issue. Although it arises sporadically, I simply enable and disable Airplane mode when I'm out of wifi range if the phone fails to catch mobile data.

You can leave STAMINA mode on (under Power management), however...... only enable the "Extended Standby" option and of course Activation should be at 100%/Always on. When Wi-Fi is on, you must also have whitelisted 2 specific apps in STAMINA under the "Apps active in standby" list: The text msg app you're using (i.e. Textra, etc) and I would also whitelist one under "All others" entitled "Phone/Messaging Storage". Again, this is only for when you have Wi-Fi on. Keep the other stuff disabled in here. With regards to STAMINA mode.......
First, put Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep to "Only when plugged in" (Settings, Wi-Fi, Advanced). Also, make sure everything else on that page is unchecked/disabled. Turn off STAMINA mode. Go into Settings, Apps, All, Extended Standby Mode Controller, Clear Data AND Cache. Then go to your text app's (Textra, etc) "App info" page (on same Apps "All" screen) and clear ONLY the cache, then close out the app itself (3D button to the right of the virtual Home button, swipe the text app off the screen). Reset. When you come back, follow what I said above, including turning STAMINA mode back on (note the removal of having to leave "queue background data" off.) Make sure that when you turn STAMINA mode on that the pop-up shows up describing it. If it doesn't at any point, then repeat this paragraph's instructions. What I just said here MAY resolve any lingering MMS issues, and also resolve any issues regarding with STAMINA mode not kicking in too. When I did this my phone spit out a few "missed" incoming MMS messages out all at once. And the battery seems to be last longer too.
It seems that MMS messages will def show up if Wi-Fi is on, but it will take longer to show up if screen is off. Maybe 3-5 minutes longer.

LG G5 Sim not detected only for SMS and calls

As stated I'm using the LG G5 H830 T-Mobile variant. I am getting 4G LTE data connection and everything runs well (Not in any WiFi range) Yet for SMS and calling as well as mobile hotspot I get "No USIM card' error. This happened after wiping the system and formatting data. Rebooted recovery (as per instructions on forum) then installed the stock firmware & Patch with systemless root and xposed. After this I did factor reset when just pulling the sim didn't help. Still nothing. I reflashed just the stock firmware with TWRP and SuperSU and issue is still happening. I've disabled rebooted and enabled the phone radio. SIM is in good condition and tray as well everything is SECURE and should be good to go.
I'm assuming a new SIM might be a solution. But I'm not counting on it and with Labor Day tomorrow for me I wouldn't be able to pick one up for 2 days. So here I am...hoping someone might have a fix. I know I don't have many posts on here. But I am an experienced user....just not with the more basic of problems I guess
Thanks!!
Has anyone else experienced this yet? I'm just curious...I had it fixed for a couple days. I've formatted data and done complete system wipe. Tried it resetting phone with the COMPLETE zip and TOT using LGUP. I'm receiving texts. Not calls. Not able to send either. I've activated new sim, didn't help. LG support just told me to look into warranty. T-Mobile needless to say just wanted. Sim card does show stock tmobile short code contacts but phone number shows as unknown. Hotspot won't work. I've tried setting the phone number to the sim. Nothing.
Anyways. I don't think I messed with anything, even so I've done everything to start the phone from scratch. Going to replace it, just more or less curious at this point and maybe others have had the same issue.
I believe I had the same issue as you and it was driving me crazy. I was constantly wiping data, system, etc but my phone kept giving the message "roaming indicator off" where it should show the name of the carrier. This resulted in me having LTE data and that's it- no 3g, no phone calls, etc. I couldn't even access the mobile network menu.
What ended up causing the issue was the network mode setting under wireless networks. Keep in mind at this point I'm running a patched rom which now gives more options in the network mode menu than the phone came factory with. I have an area at work where I have to switch to 3g, GSM/wcdma preferred network setting, because although I have full LTE signal, my connection goes dead. When switching back from 3g I chose the setting lte/CDMA thinking this would force my phone to stay in lte mode due to another area on an upper floor where the phone will constantly drop lte.
Anyways this resulted in my phone saying roaming indicator unavailable, the inability to make or receive phone calls, and either the mobile networks or network mode menus being grayed out. When stuck in this mode there is no way to put the phone back into the standard "GSM/wcdma/lte" mode. Even a complete reflash won't fix it. I even used lgup, which worked for maybe a day until it force closed the phone app and went back to roaming indicator unavail. I wiped every partition and even reflashed radio firmware. Nothing worked.
What ended up fixing it was using an app called v10 hidden settings which allowed me to access the network mode menu directly and re-choose the lte/wcdma/GSM setting. Incidentally on first access to this menu through the app there are only two network settings available. Once you choose a GSM setting, the rest appear.
I'm not sure if this was your issue but I hoped this helped because this took me about a week to workout.

Earpiece problems after bluetooth usage often requiring reboot

Hello,
Sometimes, for the last week or two, after I use bluetooth with the phone in the car, etc, when I make or receive phone calls, I cannot hear anything in the ear piece. Sometimes, it carries over to skype and whatsapp.
Sometimes speakerphone gets around this, but not always.
Until I reboot, it's not fixed.
Latest update on the phone is May 8th. I don't think it's a hardware issue because a reboot fixes it and it just started. Any ideas?
Network reset.
Clear system cache.
Try a hard reboot (not factory reset!!!)
Toggling airplane mode may clear it easier than a reboot.
Check power management settings. I never use this at all as it causes erratic behavior and doesn't save battery on my device.
I talked to Samsung who advised to clear system cache. I did so. That didn't fix it.
How to do the network reset?
I just don't understand why this started just recently. I also occasionally get weird reboots recently, as well.
Just punch in "reset network settings" on the settings search bar.
Samsung tech support is generally useless.

Question Data randomly drops after leaving WiFi & other fun issues

After the recent update my phone will show no internet connection after traveling outside a wifi area. It's dropping data. If I enable airplane mode and then disable airplane mode it will then go online. Anyone else experience this issue?
Also lately while making calls, when I have the speaker enabled, it will randomly turn off repeatedly during a phone call. Any fixes?
Having none of those issues. It would help to know what type of device you have and which carrier you're on so folks with similar setup can share their experiences with you.

Check to make sure switch to moble date is turned on in settings-connections-wifi-advanced
no issues at mine, so make factory reset and fresh apps install (not recovery)
