Question Relocking bootloader - Samsung Galaxy A52 4G

I've been planning to unlock my bootloader to install TWRP and GSI's on this device but I've seen the warning message you get every time you restart the device. I have plans to sell this device in the future, so I would like to know if there is a way to relock the bootloader or remove the warning message on startup. Thanks.

Yes you can relock the bootloader, the process is done the exact same way that you use to unlock it. The warning message will be removed and you will only be able to flash stock binaries.
But for Samsung phones specifically there is something to note, there is something called an "E-Fuse" that will be "tripped" when the bootloader is unlocked for the first time. There is no way to revert the phone back to a pure factory state after this happens. The feature is called Samsung Knox and it prevents a few (Samsung based) features from working.
You can read a bit here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Knox

I know about tripping Knox. I don't really care about not being able to use Secure Folder or S Health so it's not an issue for me. My main concern is to remove the obnoxious warning when booting the device as it can be intimidating to a non savvy potential buyer. Anyways thanks for the reply.

Any reason not to unlock the bootloader?

Just received my Solar Red U11. Is there any reason not to unlock the bootloader right away?
I'm not planing on rooting it or installing any custom ROMs anytime soon, but I'm also not 100% sure I'm gonna be keeping the phone (few things I need to see if I can get used to).
Should I just unlock it now so I don't have to (potentially) wipe my device at a later date?
Thanks!

if you decide to unlock at a later date you can back up your stuff to your computer unlock then put it back.all the other stuff is your choice, me, mine is unlocked out of the box.
it only wipes your internal, not the ext_sdcard
At some point, one of the future updates could prevent you from unlocking it. That would eliminate the
ability to modify your phone's software. If you'll never do that, probably doesn't matter if unlockable.
The only downside is the orange reminder splash screen that is displayed on boot-up.

Aldo, how do you back up data & /or app settings of 3d party apps fm a device w/locked Bootloader & no root?
Also, what & how much boot delay is there if you unlock bootloader - I saw someone post a pic that shows the screen in text mode & a warning abt startup not beginning for 5 seconds.
Also, please clarify, HTC gave warnings about losing the Fingerprint capability if you unlock the bootloader; I just want root,so I can run Titanium B/U & some root-needed apps- put really like the Fingerprint feature- was that an old warning? The posted HTC warning says you can'telock the bootloader- but I just saw someone talk abt re-locking their bootloader bc they want to sell the device as clean.
Any help much appreciated, TIA oldwolf
Boot loader won't effect your fingerprint scanner....never heard of had that.
The warning about losing fingerprint scanner functionality on HTCDev refers to the One Max (2013), and only to that device AFAIK.
Negative effects of unlocked bootloader
Has anybody found HTC U11 losing OEM applications, sound and camera quality or other pre installed applications after unlocking the bootloader? Also please tell me whether the unlocking procedure is same for Android oreo udate.
Thanks.

Go to developer options ( on setting) and allow unlocked bootloader ,,,ok finish
Unlocking the bootloader has no adverse effects. You can still update ota. If the bootloader is ever unlocked there is no reason to relock it unless you are returning the phone to the store.

Is it possible to lock and unlock bootloader without erasing data once your rooted

I just unlocked the bootloader to install twrp and maybe magisk i wanted to also try the Android P dev preview. but i know having a unlocked bootloader is a security risk also your get that warnign message at boot which makes booting up longer,is there a way to lock and unlock without losing data if im root.
Unlocking and locking wipes all data by design.

Is there a way to make the device secure with it having a unlocked bootloader?
With an unlocked bootloader, anyone can install a factory image, which wipes all your locks and your google account (and, therefore, defeats FRP), which is what makes it insecure. The only way to avoid that is to have a locked bootloader (and USB debugging off). (And I've seen reports here that unlocking the bootloader, installing TWRP and Magisk, then locking the bootloader, results in a hard brick (meaning buying another phone, because Google won't replace it)
Run with the unlocked booloader, don't ever leave the phone off your person and have "insurance" that replaces stolen (and possibly lost) phones.

Can I remove the unlocked warning?

I unlocked my phone but can't prevent the unlocked bootloader warning from popping up. Is it possible to have a different load screen instead? I was able to do this on my Moto G5 Plus with a new .img file I think. The warning still comes but it's masked with a more appropriate Motorola logo.
Thanks!

https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6x/help/help-t3774285 - it's impossible at the moment, and since that it's all about esthetic, it'll hardly be taken in consideration.
Is there any way to revert back to factory settings then? I'd rather not use a custom rom if I have to look at that warning, and it would be useful if I want to sell the phone.
You must relock the bootloader.
OK, how do I do that? The problem is that I have SlimRom installed, so I don't know if that's possible with SlimRom. I just want to go back to factory. Is there a guide?
Thanks.
You must go back to stock for being able to correctly lock the bootloader without problems, here's a guitar about how to do that https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6x/how-to/how-to-to-stock-emui-5-0-flashing-twrp-t3679985

[G955FD Exynos] Need Help with Re-locking Bootloader :foldedhands:

So I sold my s8+ g955fd seexynos to this guy for a really good price.
My s8+ was rooted with magisk and bootloader was unlocked.
But this guys wants it unrooted and wants the bootloader to be locked so that he can have the ota updates working. And if I fail to do so (which I am at the moment), I would have to return the money (which I dont want to).
I tried flashing stock rom (latest from Sammobile) from the scratch with Odin but still when I check with Intercept X app, it says bootloader unlocked. and I checked in developer options too, the oem unlock is greyed out and set to off and says "bootloader is already unlocked".
Could someone please guide me with working steps please? I am good with flashing and stuff.
I tried searching the s8+ forum but couldn't find anything helpful.
Need urgent help. :foldedhands:
Edit 1: now the OEM unlock is gone from developers options after flashing magisk again :scared:
Edit 2: After uninstalling magisk from magisk manager app
, phone went to bootloop. So I flashed stock rom "bl,ap,cp,csc" with odin again and the greyed out oem unlock is back with status "bootloader is already unlocked"
Any hint guys?
Just a hint would be enough!
Its a one way process from what I understand.
Anybody will want it locked because without it locked you cant use Knox or any of the payment apps that depend on Knox.
I could be wrong but this is what I feel.

Already figured it out. I am sure that guy doesn't care about knox, but does care about ota updates

Question Relocking the bootloader shows different message than stock in fastboot.

So, I have a Moto G9 Power, and I unlocked the bootloader to fool around with root access. Then I realised, that root access wasn't all that powerful as it was on older Android versions.
You simply do not have access to the root partition on Android 10, it is mounted read-only, and it ignores all commands to remount it as read-write.
Also, the location of the Boot animation zip of this phone is wierd, it is in /product/media, not /system/media, which effectively renders all Boot animation Magisk modules or apps useless.
Plus, the battery drain once unlocked and rooted was so much more than when on stock. And other stupid idiosyncrasies made being root not all that powerful.
So I decided to un-root and relock the bootloader.
The thing is, when it was stock, in fastboot mode, it showed
Code:
oem_locked
Now after relocking it by
Code:
fastboot oem lock
it shows
Code:
flashing_locked
I'm pretty sure the difference between the two is enough for the service center to deny my warranty (which I voided by unlocking it in the first place, I know, I know. But reverting back to stock should make the service guys not notice) if something happened to the phone.
Is there any way I can get the original message back? Am I permanently screwed? Please respond, anyone.

As far as I know anything with custom unlocks voids warranties the thing is that message likely changes to keep people from changing it back, I'm not sure what type of checks they do or how much your providers know about the device you have but considering they don't care as long as its relocked when you turn it in you may be alright. Its not like it couldn't be unlocked by them for various other reasons like flashing stock fw if it need to be fixed in that form unless they have someway of restoring that message themselves someone on our end would have to replicate it and that would take some dedicated development to do so.

I mean Motorola G Power devices are fairly popular here, wait around and keep an eye on your devices thread considering it can be unlocked with enough time you should be given a custom rom like LOS or Crdroid. The G7 power has tons of custom access as well as other G series device from Motorola so it is very likely to get something, which would very likely enable the custom access your looking for with modifications as it will be built normally.
Cheers!
Many Android devices set a "tampered" flag - which is responsible for voiding warranty of the devices - within the bootloader what can get queried by service centers.

That makes sense, hence why the message changed. Is there a way to remove that tampered flag? I know that older Samsung devices had a flash counter, which could be reset back to zero. Maybe something similar?

No nothing like that for Moto devices.
Generally, Motorola doesn't enforce the voided warranty issue.
If the device has a factory flaw and still would be under warranty, they will cover it.
At least this is based on posts on the forum.
