Can I remove the unlocked warning? - Honor 6X Questions & Answers

I unlocked my phone but can't prevent the unlocked bootloader warning from popping up. Is it possible to have a different load screen instead? I was able to do this on my Moto G5 Plus with a new .img file I think. The warning still comes but it's masked with a more appropriate Motorola logo.
Thanks!

https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6x/help/help-t3774285 - it's impossible at the moment, and since that it's all about esthetic, it'll hardly be taken in consideration.

Is there any way to revert back to factory settings then? I'd rather not use a custom rom if I have to look at that warning, and it would be useful if I want to sell the phone.

You must relock the bootloader.

OK, how do I do that? The problem is that I have SlimRom installed, so I don't know if that's possible with SlimRom. I just want to go back to factory. Is there a guide?
Thanks.

You must go back to stock for being able to correctly lock the bootloader without problems, here's a guitar about how to do that https://forum.xda-developers.com/honor-6x/how-to/how-to-to-stock-emui-5-0-flashing-twrp-t3679985

Warranty with T-Mobile

So I have received a "Certified Pre-Owned" Nexus 5 from T-Mobile just a couple days ago. Within the first few hours, I rooted it. At this point I could no longer install (but still received) OTAs, and IIRC that is because the system partition has been altered. I eventually did unroot, but I still could not install OTAs. Now, there is a hardware issue with the phone: it will not vibrate properly anymore. And I have tried those solutions like pressing on the back. So will need to return this phone for a replacement or repair. I have read somewhere that T-Mobile runs a diagnostic tool to check the phone software. My phone is not rooted, and I have not unlocked it or altered the ROM in any way, but will T-Mobile know that my system partition is different? Am I still covered under warranty?
You could just flash the latest entire factory image and relock the bootloader - not sure how Tmobile would be able to tell anything different especially since the nexus 5 isn't a carrier locked device.

I don't plan to unlock my bootloader at all for a while. I unrooted with KingRoot, and now my phone is identical to stock except for a couple of files in the system partition that are traces of the root. I know this because OTA installations will result in an error. But that is the only thing that differs from a stock device. Will T-Mobile be able to access the system partition or somehow force an OTA upon it and find that it was once rooted? This is what I fear. What exactly does T-Mobile do when it receives the phone to make sure it had warranty?
Actually, what I would like to know for my peace of mind is...
Is there any way that T-Mobile can find out that I rooted?

I used the Nexus Root Toolkit to unlock, flash stock, unroot, lock, set tamper to false, etc. I can install OTAs now, and there is no way that I can think that my phone can be seen as altered. Just to confirm:
Is there any way now that T-Mobile will know that I did anything?

well my friend sry but you can't restore this code
most of devices like samsung, motorola etc they have.... lets say a key for the bootloader(is the door) and this key if you root your device
breaks and the half key stays inside the door hole to reminds you that the key is broken(the devicesis root/unlockbootloader).
so if you root any motorola device the code state goes
automatically 2 and stays like this, you can flash again the stock rom and relock the bootloader sure
but the code stays 2 for ever.
i hope to help you

I'm not exactly sure what you are saying, but I think the jist of it is how do you relock the bootloader... the answer is you cannot, once it is unlocked it will always report as unlocked, even if you reflash stock and find a way to relock the device.
When you unlocked your device, it was plainly stated in the disclosure on the website that once the bootloader is unlocked, it is irreversible.
yeap

YEAAA we say the same think, but i use an othey way to say it.
i say in the end you can relock the bootloader (more or less) when i say this i mean that you put some partitions back in boot loader
so when you flash the stock rom you can take any ota update, but the main bootloader is unlock always.
i know that form my old moto g2gen, moto x2013!!!

You could relock the bootloader on older Motos, but not anymore... Actually, it can be relocked but it will never report as locked or relocked, it will always be reported as unlocked. I don't how to be more plain in describing this.
And yes, you can take an OTA when unlocked, as long as you have a stock ROM and recovery and your bootloader is the correct version for your ROM. If your bootload and ROM are out of sync (ie. you have a Marshmallow bootloader and a Lollipop ROM), if your bootloader and ROM are out of sync, you could potentially get into a hard bricked situation.
ohh!!

Once I sent my hard bricked phone to Motorola. I had unlocked the bootloader and done the stupid mistake of sideloading an older version and upgrading to a newer, but still older version. When it came back, it said it was Status Code 0.
Wonder how they did it.

They flash the eMMC chip (internal storage chip) directly... If you could get the right image you could possibly do it yourself with a few hundred to thousand dollar investment in a proper JTAG flashing unit.
Key would be getting the right Image, this would be far more than just a normal stock fastboot image, and is probably generated on the fly per device due to differences in serial number, IMEI, etc. These types of images don't get leaked out.

You unlocked the bootloader... It doesn't matter if you actually changed anything else or not. Once it's been done, this status code can never go back to 0. If the status code is 2 and you didn't unlock the bootloader, then someone else did.

No I didn't.. I don't even know how to.. I just found out about recovery mode.. Wait wait before i say that.. How do you unlock boot loader? Turning developer mode on? Going to recovery menu? I've never hard reset it.. Just soft or doing new device. You said it could work fine for a while then shirt out? Like guy I bought from did and then I bought used for couple years and then went tits up?

You unlock the bootloader with a series of steps that includes submitting a code to Motorola and getting an unlock code back... Performing it forces a factory reset as well. It's not something you can do by accident.
The issue with Status Code 2 was that an official update could have detected that and refused to update properly or done something worse... That never happened.
If everything is working fine, the status being 2 isn't important, it just means the previous owners had unlocked the bootloader and likely rooted or otherwise modified the phone.

Possible to relock bootloader after root?

Hi guys,
It might sound dumb but I was wondering if it was possible to relock the bootloader while keeping root.
In fact, I did not want to modify my Honor 8 that much too soon but I enjoy playing some games on my phone using a pad, I did not want to spend alot so I just went with a pad I already have, the DualShock 4. It works well except the button mapping in native Android games, that's why I have to root to use Sixaxis app to solve the issue.
So I may have to root my device soon but I don't plan any other modification to the system atm and I particularly hate the warning message when you boot (gosh, I hated it on my Moto G but it was easy to replace).
That leads me to the thread title: Is it possible to root and then get rid of the unlocking message (relock the bootloader or anything else would be okayish)?
I just want to get root access on the phone for my gamepad issue and eventually setup some typical things such as a real adblocking solution (DNS66 is not bad but hosts file is still the way to go imo) and maybe Xposed.
Is there a way to reduce the modification on the phone? (Thus the idea of relocking it, I was thinking that maybe, once relocked it won't show the message. But maybe relocking just wipe the phone again? (as unlocking it does))
Thank you guys
thats possible to relock bootloader .but if u used flash custom recovery and SuperSu.zip to root your phone , after rooted device , please reflash stock recovery vi fastboot and relock your bootloader
I don't think it's possible to relock the bootloader and keep your device rooted.

It was possible with the Nexus 5 and a few other phones to root it and then relock it. Obviously the only way to know if that's the case on this phone is to try it. But you just have to make sure that the stock recovery is there instead of twrp before relocking.
One brave soul needs to try it though. [emoji4]

Well, I'll wait until someone who has a rooted device give it a try.
That screen would really annoy me... I always thought it was dumb to put that kind of screen... Damn, no need to remind us that it is unlocked if WE DID IT OURSELVES.

Any reason not to unlock the bootloader?

Just received my Solar Red U11. Is there any reason not to unlock the bootloader right away?
I'm not planing on rooting it or installing any custom ROMs anytime soon, but I'm also not 100% sure I'm gonna be keeping the phone (few things I need to see if I can get used to).
Should I just unlock it now so I don't have to (potentially) wipe my device at a later date?
Thanks!

if you decide to unlock at a later date you can back up your stuff to your computer unlock then put it back.all the other stuff is your choice, me, mine is unlocked out of the box.
it only wipes your internal, not the ext_sdcard
At some point, one of the future updates could prevent you from unlocking it. That would eliminate the
ability to modify your phone's software. If you'll never do that, probably doesn't matter if unlockable.
The only downside is the orange reminder splash screen that is displayed on boot-up.

Aldo, how do you back up data & /or app settings of 3d party apps fm a device w/locked Bootloader & no root?
Also, what & how much boot delay is there if you unlock bootloader - I saw someone post a pic that shows the screen in text mode & a warning abt startup not beginning for 5 seconds.
Also, please clarify, HTC gave warnings about losing the Fingerprint capability if you unlock the bootloader; I just want root,so I can run Titanium B/U & some root-needed apps- put really like the Fingerprint feature- was that an old warning? The posted HTC warning says you can'telock the bootloader- but I just saw someone talk abt re-locking their bootloader bc they want to sell the device as clean.
Any help much appreciated, TIA oldwolf
Boot loader won't effect your fingerprint scanner....never heard of had that.
The warning about losing fingerprint scanner functionality on HTCDev refers to the One Max (2013), and only to that device AFAIK.
Negative effects of unlocked bootloader
Has anybody found HTC U11 losing OEM applications, sound and camera quality or other pre installed applications after unlocking the bootloader? Also please tell me whether the unlocking procedure is same for Android oreo udate.
Thanks.

Go to developer options ( on setting) and allow unlocked bootloader ,,,ok finish
Unlocking the bootloader has no adverse effects. You can still update ota. If the bootloader is ever unlocked there is no reason to relock it unless you are returning the phone to the store.

Question Relocking bootloader

I've been planning to unlock my bootloader to install TWRP and GSI's on this device but I've seen the warning message you get every time you restart the device. I have plans to sell this device in the future, so I would like to know if there is a way to relock the bootloader or remove the warning message on startup. Thanks.
Yes you can relock the bootloader, the process is done the exact same way that you use to unlock it. The warning message will be removed and you will only be able to flash stock binaries.
But for Samsung phones specifically there is something to note, there is something called an "E-Fuse" that will be "tripped" when the bootloader is unlocked for the first time. There is no way to revert the phone back to a pure factory state after this happens. The feature is called Samsung Knox and it prevents a few (Samsung based) features from working.
You can read a bit here - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samsung_Knox
I know about tripping Knox. I don't really care about not being able to use Secure Folder or S Health so it's not an issue for me. My main concern is to remove the obnoxious warning when booting the device as it can be intimidating to a non savvy potential buyer. Anyways thanks for the reply.
